UMMM you also have a conundrum. The Sabbath CAN NOT end in the morning, the Sabbath ends in the EVENING The Bible plainly says they came in the morning which means if it was the Sabbath,it was in the MIDDLE of the Sabbath, and they were breaking the Sabbath by bringing spices to do WORK,yet Luke is very clear they OBSERVED the Sabbath according to their customs. And dawn in the Bible stills means dawn, morning not evening.
Yep, they came to the tomb in the morning...

Joh 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Joh 20:2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

Still dark and Christ was already gone! Of course He was gone, He was resurrected exactly three days and three nights from Passover (Wednesday) evening, just as He said He would be...

Mat 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

In fact, if He was not raised at/about sunset Sabbath afternoon, just as He said He would be, the ONLY proof He gave that He was the Messiah, is false.

If he was buried Weds evening, he spent Thurs., Fri., Sat. in the tomb, 3 full days. Which means he was raised after sunset on Sat, which was Sunday.

Nope, He was buried just before/at sunset. All had to be buried before sunset because at sunset began the First Day of Unleavened Bread which is a Sabbath...

Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

The annual Sabbath...

Lev 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.
Lev 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
Lev 23:7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Joh 19:32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
Joh 19:33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

Why did they brake their legs? So they would not be able to push themselves up and breathe. Breaking their legs caused them to suffocate. They did not brake Christ's legs because He was already dead.

Now they pulled them down off of the stakes and buried them just before/at sunset so they were finished by the time of the Sabbath.

This makes the resurrection right before/at sunset on Sabbath. It did not carry over into the first day, that was a totally different Feast. The Wave Sheaf. Here is a good treatment of the Wave Sheaf...

UMMM Sorry but the Bible does not say it was the FIRST SABBATH it says the first day Mark very specifically says AFTER THE SABBATH WAS OVER

Mark 16

16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.

Luke 24

24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

John 20

20 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said,“Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Sorry the Bible is very clear it was on the first DAY OF THE WEEK AND NOT the first Sabbath.

Matthew 28:1

King James Version (KJV)

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

Some, in an attempt to teach a Sunday morning resurrection, have used Matthew 28:1 in support of such a teaching. We do know, however, that Jesus Christ was resurrected on Saturday afternoon, around sunset, after having been in the grave for three days and three nights. He was killed on a Wednesday, and placed in the grave on Wednesday afternoon, just around sunset.

"We read in Matthew 28:1-6 (Authorized Version): 'In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it… And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for HE IS RISEN, AS HE SAID.'

"We note from the passage that Christ was already resurrected by the time the women came to the grave. We are told that they appeared 'in the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week.' Many commentaries point out that this phrase discusses the END of the SABBATH, that is, Saturday evening or late afternoon, and NOT Sunday morning.

After participating in threads with the subject of the exact day of the First of the Resurrection, I have determined for myself only that because it had been prophesied that He would be crucified and be raised on the third day, I believe this is what happened, because it was given by our Father to the prophets just for you and me.

If those who claim faith cannot believe at least this much, I am afraid that claimed faith may not amount to much.

As for the day of the crucifixion, it would have been counted by the Lunar system used by the Children of Israel. Take it from there, the description of the day He was crucified to His resurrection.

Isdaniel has demonstrated, He rose before sunrise on the Sabbath.

Nah, that's not gonna work. I'd like to buy a vowel; the letter 'Q', please.
Very concise and accurate Biblical exegesis demonstrated here. Sometimes when the scripture doesn't really say what you wish is said, you have to resort to these tactics.

Sorry then you have a conflict with Mark,Luke and John which all SAY THE MORNING AFTER THE SABBATH.

All from the KJV by the way

Mark 16

16 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

John 20

20 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

Luke 24

24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8 Then they remembered his words.

By the way the KJV is one of only two translations that translate Matthew that way all the rest translate it along these lines

28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

Using your interpretation of Matthew it DOES NOT line up with the rest of the gospels. It does when it translated as above.

And no matter how you want to slice it or dice it it with the time frame of the resurrection that you are using it is STILL THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK. Sunset starts the next day of the week it's no longer the SABBATH.

This is so funny the way law keepers become stringent literalists in some things, but totally ignore their own transgressions of the law they claim to obey.

Jesus said he would be in the tomb 3 days and nights, which would have been Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Yet you want to strain at a gnat about a few minutes or seconds on Weds. Ridiculous.

Good day Hamster, my belief is the Messiah taught us to Keep the Commandments of God even to the least, including Sabbath day of Rest.

I have come to learn others believe differently and believe the Sabbath is not to be kept.

I stated my belief that the Words of the Messiah give life for it is written.

You state you don't mix old with new, but i'm quite sure you do not steal, lie or commit adultery? The Sabbath day rest was given with these Commandments and the Messiah said they are to be kept and taught.

GOD says those that Love Him Keep His Commandments.

The Messiah teaches this:

Matthew 22

My belief is that if we Love God and our Neighbour then the Commandments are kept.

i share my beliefs, but in no way want to impose anything.
Good day loveme1, that was my way of saying I don't mix oranges and apples :).

The Sabbath was given to them under the law of Moses and that law was done away in Christ. Yet the New Covenant has many of the same principles as the ten commandments. God is the same he doesn't like evil: killing, stealing, lying, fornication and such like! If we be of Christ we walk in the spirit not in the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Lust of the flesh and fruit of the spirit, Galatians 5:14-26

Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Matthew 22:30-40 They were still under the law until Jesus died and they had to keep the law as long as it was standing.. The scriptures says that the law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Luke 16:16. I believe if we study the scriptures we can come to and understand.

I would like someone to inform us just when and how flesh was given to change the commandments of Yahweh. I know Yeshua, Jesus, did not change them, but He did give us the grace so we are counted as sin free.

Also, for all those who are editing Yahweh's will, when Jesus declared that the Sabbath was made for man and not the other way around, and that man is lord of the Sabbath He was teaching that it is just fine to do good on the Sabbath. He was not saying it is abolished, otherwise He would have said so.

Please stop perverting the meaning of this teaching; it is not of the Holy Spirit, it is of the enemy.
