why are so many christians saying "times have changed" just because it's 2014 and we live in a very politically correct society doesn't mean we need to conform to it, no women were ever part of the priesthood in the temple in times before Jesus so obviously God thought it wasn't necessary and I see no reason to change that. A preacher is probably the only job left in society that can discriminate on gender and I see it's largely a anti-christian feminist agenda trying to change that

women preaching to men is like a reverse of what God intended, I would not stay at a church where there was a woman preacher because it would be obvious she has not read her Bible which shows as every female preacher I have met have been very liberal in their view of how they interpret.

It was one of the curses on eve and all women to desire to rule over her husband(or men in general) in areas they weren't suppose to by God.
I wouldn't say all women haven't read their bible. I've met women who I would LOVE to take classes from, one imparticular who seems to know more than all the men in my church 30 and younger combined, but both her and I understand that isn't her role. Thats why I try to talk to her 1 on 1 as much as I can!

To say all women haven't read there bible is almost sexist, but to say that it isn't their role in the body to teach is truth.

Hebrew Manuscripts-

nâbâ'

naw-baw'

A primitive root; to {prophesy} that {is} speak (or sing) by inspiration (in prediction or simple discourse ): - prophesy (-ing) make self a prophet.

That is all this word means. To speak. Simple discourse . To disclose or speak about what ? We all should know this. It is to disclose, or speak God's words, contained in His what ? Prophets. What did the prophets do ? They taught God's words.

There is no getting around the fact, that Peter taught women are teachers also, up there when he brought Joel's Prophecy ;about God's words into it, that women also, will teach in the same manner. And we already know from scripture, from Huldah, to Philips four daughters , that women do teach God's words.

Remember it wasn't Peter speaking nor the 12, it was God Himself.

There is no getting around that. Isn't it about time, Christians wise up, and chuck traditions of men ?

Remember what Christ said of that ? Remember what He said to all those Christians teachers here when He returns ? Was He happy with them ?
Teachers and Pastors both speak, but one speaks of direct relation to what God revealed to them (prophet) and one teaches and leads (Pastor). There is a difference.

Also Philips daughters didn't teach, it doesn't say that, you assume that.

Yes! When Paul Says women cannot speak...you have to remember this a time when women did not have the same education or rights as men. He was trying to promote unity...not say Women COULD NEVER preach or teach.

God speaks through us...so it is never really US to begin with...lol. It's kind of funny really...a women preacher really first opened up my relationship with God.

We also find several female ministers in the scripture besides Priscilla.

It always serves well to MEDITATE on scripture...to fully comprehend the meaning, and not to have a narrow minded view...
Name one female teacher with verses supporting. Priscilla didn't teach unless your bible says something mine does not.

I don't have a narrow view in the aspect that if someone provides a legit reason to why I am wrong, then okay, but no one has. (Legit reason with scripture supporting)

Jesus treated women in a distinctly different way than the society he lived in. The fact that Jesus spoke to women in public was a radical departure from the traditions of his time. No Jewish Rabbi would speak to any woman in public, let alone a samaritan fornicator. Women ministered to Jesus and remained with him while he died on the cross. The first human to see the resurrected Jesus was a woman. Jesus never once says women have a lessor role in his kingdom.

Even Paul (the male chauvinist) said: "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3:27-28

Yes Women can teach and preach to men.
First off, yes Jesus did treat them differently, but he never allowed them to teach. Granted he never didn't but that wasn't his job in the Body. HIs job was to spread his name, and save us while on this earth. It was the 12 whose jobs were to set up and help run the churches after his death (as well as other things, but thats a big one). That's why Pual stated this.

Galations is talking about salvation. Read the context. Basically it is saying "any gender or race can be saved".

Remember, we are all one In Christ. So if there is neither male nor female all one in Christ, then would it make sense, when Christ said to go out and spread the gospel for women to be commanded not to teach God's words ever ?

If God says in Genesis, that man and women are one flesh, how can we have one half of the same person silent ? Dose it make sense ? No it wouldn't make much sense..

Galatians 3:28

King James Version (KJV)

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Now, guess who wrote this ? It was Paul.

We have to understand Paul was not teaching women do not teach ever. What was going on in some churches was, a lot of vain babbling , when God's words should have been the center of attention. Paul then gave a lot of instruction in his letters to the Christians there, and women were also the topic naturally as well as men:

and the way they should conduct themselves and the roles they play. But never once did Paul say, well listen to one letter, and form a whole doctrine out of it, without also adding in all of the rest of God's words.

We have to take in all of God's words , that will give us a fuller understanding of what is being taught.

I'm trying to show people , are working into Paul's teachings more, then what scripture even allows for, like vain traditions, of those churches Christ is Not happy with.

Paul said, he was a persecutor of Christians, women also, it didn't matter.

1 Tim 1:

12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

So Paul would know full well the dangers Christian Women, had to face.

Acts 22:4

King James Version (KJV) ( Paul speaking )

4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

When Christian Women, were persecuted at this time, did they all sit down and have a tea party ? No they were persecuted to the death.

Instead of enforcing traditions of men into God;s words, where even all the scriptures of women teaching God's word, past and to come, are read over and explained away, why not just use common sense, and allot all, of God's words to stand. Not what we just want to hear.

Because it makes much more sense in light of the majority of scriptures, that Paul was giving women the ability to opt out. Even though, Christians all one in Christ, are called to spread the gospel.

Mark 16:15-16

King James Version (KJV)

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
So a few things here. One he knew the dangers of both men and women. Both were persecuted. By your logic of women being persecuted to death so Paul told them not to preach then no one should have preached because both genders were persecuted to death.

Preaching is Mark is different than pastoring. I am totally up for women going out and preaching to people. Teaching, at least to me, is talking about in a church setting because the whole book seems to be talking about how to conduct yourself in the home and in the church. In that aspect Mark isn't telling women to become pastors.

Again Galations is specifically about salvations its saying "any race or gender can be saved" in a sense. Its not talking about equal opportunity.

Yes, you are bashing specific women when you say they can not be called by God to pastor a church. :(

No, I'm not calling Paul a liar. I am just saying that Paul does not = God. Paul=Paul.
:)

No, I don't put anyone on 'ignore,' you can though, and, no, I don't detest even ONE WORD of God's words. The Lord leads. :)

Your posts are insanely hurtful to women and you choose to, hey, here's a word for you, IGNORE that fact. That's the only thing inane, bro. :(

I've :)been completely respectful of you, you've taken things the wrong way, starting with my nic for you, phil
---------------------==========------------------
I'm not disciplining you, phil, don't be silly. I just said that the Lord 'disciplines His own,' and, you WILL be disciplined for things that you say that hurt others. The verses about tying a 'millstone around one's neck' for doing wrong things to God's children comes to mind. 'Course, that's some discipline. Hey, think of the bright side, at least, you're with Him, just, as I said, the rewards, once you die, will be good and bad. YOU get both from God at the Bema Seat .
I have no desire to speak authority over you nor you me. You should practice what you preach, because telling me I have a long time before ready for 'meat' etc. is your trying to put your opinionated authority over me.

It's amazing how stuffed up one's mind can become, thinking that God can never call a woman to pastor a church just because they think Paul's words are absolute and that God would never do something out of the ordinary that was absolutely for His will being done, like, for example, using a woman to pastor a church that was not getting fruit from a man's leadership. God knows, God cares, God acts. And, as I've told tuck a few times now, He acts above and beyone and OVER your authority of what you think He should do. :)
Your right paul=paul, but pauls words that made it into the bible=god's words.

INstead of "I do not suffer a woman to teach or have authority over a man but to be silent."

Do you think, tuck, we could say, "God does not suffer a woman to teach or have authority over a man but to be silent." ???

And, if Paul was saying that, would Paul be wondering if he was speaking for God, I wonder? Job spoke for God and.... How did that turn out for Job? Not good, huh, read chapter 38 on as God speaks to Job about who is boss and who ain't .
Didn't God come into the picture of Job's wallowing and say, 'Who is this that darkens my counsel?' Wasn't he speaking to Job? So, does God allow us to have our own opinions? Like Paul has an opinion here about women. I mean, true, God's words in the bible are holy inspired, all for 'proof', and 'correction,' and, even, "rebuke," but......is Paul speaking of a personal situation preference here. I mean, he is, we know that, afterall, Paul says, 'I suffer not...' This tells us, indeed, Paul, and, NOT God, and, not Jesus in His red-letter words is speaking here. It IS Paul, tuck. :)

So, yes, there is an option. "I (Paul) do not suffer a woman to teach..." or, the option is "God does not suffer a woman...."
The words of the bible are inspired by God. They are all GOd's word. If we are going to pick and choose what is God's opinion and what is man's then by that logic we could ditch 90% of the bible.

The job I had for 25 years one of the sayings there was Know Your Customer. Paul knew his audience and the bible verses you keep listing were for the church Paul was writing to. I do not believe that it was to be as written in stone throughout eternity. Why? Look at the middle east as a whole. They have never treated the women with respect that is due a woman. Back in the time Paul was preaching a lot of the people men and women were not educated. So it was a disruption to the church service if a woman asked a question. As the men and women were probably not seated together. The instruction was for the woman to wait until they got home to ask her husband the question to be silent in the church service.

The world has so changed now people scattered across the globe and we are educated now in the U.S. as well as other countries both men and woman have more opportunities than in bible times. Jesus commissioned the disciples as He was leaving earth to go and preach, teach the gospel and baptize new disciples. God will use any Holy Spirit filled individual regardless of gender, age, race to spread His gospel because God wants everyone to be saved.

If men are the only ones to preach and teach then you guys need to get out of the chat rooms and spread the gospel and quit arguing with women about whether they should preach and teach men about salvation. There is a whole world out there that needs all of us.
Love in Christ.
This is a post I made earlier that won't be answered by the person it is directed to, but applies to here too with the "It only applied to that situation" concept.

A few things on this because I have hear this side before.

1. If it was only for them, why is it in the bible?
2. If men and women are to teach, then why would Paul tell them to not have that be so? If the bible is in support of women teaching, then why does Paul say it is wrong to do so?
3. If you right this off as "just for them" then by that logic I can right all of Paul's letters off as "just for them". There goes half the NT.
4. Paul was "fixing" them. If he says to not allow women to teach men, then one of the problems was probably that they were letting women teach. If he is fixing them, and that is how he is doing it, couldn't the problem be women were teaching? And if that is thing Paul is fixing, shouldn't we fix it as well? If paul is trying to make their church better and he does it by not allowing women to teach, we should do the same.

Not trying to seem disrespectful, just looking for answers for those 4 points to how they fit with that style of thinking?

Women preaching don't seem that bad, Paul didn't mean for all time, women have turned men too Jesus. That's putting women down. I have heard them all. The Word says what it says, You are going to believe according to your own heart Hebrews 4:12. So with what I have been reading, on this thread If two gay men or two gay women, preach and turn people to Jesus then it should be ok. If there is one word of the New Testament that I cannot believe how am I to believe any of it. The fact is if God can make black holes, Giant red suns, all that is, our planet and all it contains, I think He could do a book.

The words of Paul are the words of God dude. The words 100% truth. To deny what is in the bible is denying God. We don't believe Paul is the way, the truth, and Life. We beleieve Paul was inspired by God to write these letters because they are in the bible which is entirely inspired. Therefore what he says is truth. I agree with you that men have been messing up, but that doesn't permit women to mess up as well. God doesn't change, people change.

First,
I am not a DUDE...save that for your buddies in the locker room or on the couch playing video games

Second,
it is obvious you have no understanding of the scriptures that at times God has changed his mind or been open to change his mind, on behalf of mighty men that intercessed on behalf of the people, before God

So according to what Paul said, every female missionary that has taught a male not knowing the Gospel is in danger of hell fire and direct disobedience?

Did Paul die for your sins too?

I'm confused about how your story of gays applies in mix with your opinion. We agree God could make a book, but disagree on women teaching.

Again God doesn't change, people do. When Paul was speaking he was speaking for God (because it is in the book inspired by God). This being the case, then this command for women not to teach was a permanent command, not just for a short time unless there are verses saying it is just for a short time.

Things you have stated that are disrespectful.

1. "mamastucksboy"
2."DISOBEDIENCE TO God's Word, philly? LOL, really, bro. Who died and made you God?"
3.
Phill, don't be naive, bro

That's just from one message.

Grown up Boy, you called people dude, I am not your dude...you want respect , then understand it is earned not given, now grow up, come to full age and stop crying like the pimple faced teen you are....and let the others defend themselves...

1. sorry I was not thinking and realized I shouldn't have called you that like 10 minutes after I sent that. I do apologize.

2. God has record of these changes though. Also they are all in the OT. None in the NT. (except the giant change from law, to principle of the law but that's kinda the whole bible, not just NT or OT). Also you can't say God has changed his mind on this subject, because you can't know. No one can, so we have to go with what we do know, which is what is in the bible.

3.Preaching and pastoring are different. when it says to teach, it is specifically talking about in a church setting. This is shown by the whole book being how to conduct yourself in the home and in the church. Spreading the word to unbeleivers is preaching, a women can preach in this situation. A pastor though is a teacher in a church setting, which is against the word of God. I can't say rather or not these women are doomed for hell, for It is not my place to judge salvation, rather Christ's. I can say they are going agaist the bible though. We all do that from time to time though, and I wouldn't say we are ALL doomed for hell, so I don't think they are doomed for hell, but again it isn't my place to make that call.

Christ died for my sins and I know this through the bible which is the inspired WORD OF GOD. 1 Time 2:12 is in the inspired WORD OF GOD. Therefore these words are the WORD OF GOD.

By using the logic that this was Paul speaking not God I can ditch 90% of the bible.

I apologized and explained the dude comment.
Do to others as you want done to you. You insult me, so do you wish to be insulted? I do not insult you, and the one comment I made to you that was an issue I corrected myself and apologized for.
I anwered GreenNice's question to what he has said that was disrespectful. I would not have brought up "mamastucksboy" otherwise because it was just a stupid comment in general.
Keep trying to degrade me, I'll just keep focusing on the topic at hand.

You misunderstand somewhat, Please reread it the part before "I have heard it all before". If Paul meant for it to be temporary he would have said. Some people seem to think it makes women less, it does not, they have an equal right to Jesus and His kingdom as any man, except for john the baptist maybe(: The thing about the gays is just because something good comes from it doesn't make it right.. Like if I cheat on my wife of 31 years, but I tell the woman about Jesus and she is saved does that make my cheating right.

Okay now I understand. I'm glad we agree!

I couldn't understand because you opened with this

"Women preaching don't seem that bad, Paul didn't mean for all time" so it seemed like you were saying It was a temporary thing.
Now I see what you meant XD

Be certain
God will not ask you
your opinion
of wether he can call
a woman into his service
for a church

Be assured
he does not need to talk to you.
