...technically, that's not quite true. Seeing as how Arel and Mobius are my friends, we do talk about... stuff. I mean, they do tell me things like the reasons given to them for being banned.

They can appeal to you? I figured being banned means they can't send messages on CC. In any case, I'm not appealing their case. I am saying nothing with the expectation that my arguments might have their bans lifted. An appeal, in legal terms, means that upon a verdict being made in the trial courts, the appellant goes to appeals courts and tries to get the decision reversed by presenting a convincing argument that some breach in the rules of evidence-or any other rules of court- was committed. I am not vying for any sort of reversal in the bans of Arel and Mobius. I honestly think there is no argument I could make, no matter how convincing, that could get my friends back on this site, so I would not even bother.

I am sure I do not have the full side of you and the other admins' story, since I cannot know what you are thinking, but I have the full side of the story from Arel and Mobius, and seeing as how I have a friendship with them I would suppose I am rather biased.

In any case, as I said, I am not arguing for their return. I am simple pointing out the discrepancies I see in the character of the so-called Christians on here that profess love, grace, mercy, and understanding. None of these character traits have I seen demonstrated by most of the Christians on here in relation to Mobius and Arel. All I want is for the people who were acting hypocritical to realize that, yes, they were wrong, and maybe next time an occasion arises where they must deal with true Messianics (and not Jews-for-Jesus) they will be better able to interact with them and perhaps converse on friendly and understanding terms without casting insults out toward them.

The thing is, the only example I have to live by is that of my family -more specifically my sister- when it comes to Messianics and the belief that people should follow mitzvot. She did not appreciate the fact that I follow mitzvot at first and has made it abundantly clear through insults masked in humor or blatant statements of distain, such as "how long are you going to act like a Jew?" It was hurtful, but she is family, so what could I do?

But you know what? When we finally sat down and talked about why I believe what I do the insults and hurtful comments ceased completely. She still does not agree with my beliefs, but because she was finally willing to listen to why I believe what I do she became more understanding.

And I really feel like it could be the same for those on here that reacted so offensively toward Mobius and Arel. If you had just been willing to listen to why they believe what they do, an understanding could have been reached and discussions could have branched off from there. My sister and I still talk about my beliefs, and she still thinks I am wrong. she even said she was praying for me(that I might return to my former beliefs, I suppose, where I didn't follow mitzvot), but that is it. There is no hostility, no insults, no snide remarks. It could have been the same on here. It can be the same on here. I believe God gives second chances, and there are numerous Messianics out there that, when given the chance, you all can listen to instead of attacking.
Well that is all very interesting, but the only thing this post has proven is that I was right.

You DO NOT have the full story. There are 2 sides to every story... remember that!

Yes, they can appeal, if they wish. They should still be able to email to the address at the bottom of this page. The 'contact us' link. All of those emails go straight to RoboOp.

So if they wish to appeal or whatever, let them know that is where to forward the email to!

When you get banned you are not given a reason. Definitely not the detailed explanations you gave.
the detailed explanations I gave were not the reasons for their bans. I hardly think it is my place to publicize why they were banned. That is a private matter that only Arel and Mobius or the moderators can publicize, if seen fit to do so. The detailed explanations I gave were my interpretations of the bans, and I suppose could be considered a misrepresentation of the facts, but it's hearsay at this point what I am saying, so you could ignore me if you wanted. I mean, my testimony probably wouldn't hold up in any court anywhere.

Actually you may be given a reason, you may not.

Usually in cases of being banned for say an inappropriate forum post (as an example), the ban will be activated or flagged from the post. So it will be attached to the email notification the user will receive, and is therefore is obvious as a reason for banning.

Most other bans will be given with a reason, but usually a self-explanatory one-liner :)

Most of the time, the banned users know what they have done anyway.

But like I said, all users have the chance to appeal, it's up to them!

Yes, YOUR interpretations...

Hence my saying 'you may not have the full story'.

You were right about what, exactly (I'm confused)? You said I was trying to get them unbanned, and I said I was not.

I addressed the issue that I don't know the full story. I am only dealing with what I know, and from that I am telling people that they can learn from this experience. In the future, when dealing with people whose opinion they disagree with, instead of attacking them, listen to them first and then work from there. I even gave a personal example of how that works much better than attacking people.

Look, I like CC. Otherwise I still wouldn't be a member(that admitedly doesn't log on very often) of this site, but when I have friends join the site and they are attacked for simply having different views it does hurt me.

Sorry, I thought I was clear lol.

I meant that I was right in saying 'you do not have the full story'.

Which you had addressed anyway. I can understand that this hurts you- and I'm sorry you feel that way.

You may well understand and possibly feel different if you had all the facts. Regardless, the best thing you can do now, is to let them know about the 'contact us' link. That way if the wish to, they can email with their side of the story, and it can be reviewed!

Anyone participating in this thread can see why they were banned, and rightfully so.

Yes, there is this video on Tangle that is just awesome in my opinion. It shows this preacher saying obey Gods Holy Bible, and do not worship any other holy book. If you just listen to a random guys preaching, then you are pretty much disobeying what the Lord has commanded you. Every church should have the Bilbe in it and we should all worship the Bible

Paul was a mysogynist homophobe and probably would have been rebuked by Jesus. I'm saddened at the number of people who think he's all that and a bag of chips.

Wow! That is absolute blasphemy. My guess is you will beg forgiveness for those words someday. This kind of stuff really shouldn't be allowed here.

o_O So you're saying that speaking against Paul is blasphemy?

Does that not mean you're basically making Paul equal to God? I mean I'm not saying that Paul is wrong, or that he oughta be spoken against, but you're going all like "BLASPHEMER" and it makes me worry about who you're actually worshiping here.

I see a ban in your future, but based on the things you write, that should be the least of your concerns.
Stop condemning people. Seriously show some love for people with different opinions than yourself.

I would be honored. Jesus would have called Paul out for being a self-righteous Pharisee.

This guy calls the Apostle Paul a homophobe and tells me Im going to hell and you are defending him? I would hope you and others might rather defend the word of God and take a stand against those attacking it like he is. Gee Wiz, this is unreal.

DreadZepplin, remember what the Bible says:

John 14:6
Jesus answered, "Paul is the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through him."

Acts 16:31
They replied, "Believe in the Apostle, Paul of Tarsus, and you will be saved—you and your household."

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in his Apostle, Paul, shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Paul is right," and believe in your heart that God inspired his every thought, you will be saved.

Oh, sweet mother of pearl! If people deserve to get banned every time they speak out against Paul the Magnificent then why not lock this thread? It is obviously only working as bait to attract every person on ChristianChat who doesn't like Paul to speak out against him and subsequently get banned for doing so.

If speaking against Paul warrants a ban, it should be in the rules. If not, people need to stop saying that someone needs to be banned for speaking against the guy. I hardly think it is prudent or fair to allow a thread condemning people for not believing in Paul, and then banning said people when they either try to defend themselves or express an opposing view.
