twisted scripture syndrome.

fulfilled means completed in us

Jesus christ died so he could give us the holy spirit to abide in us and empower us to keep the law and learn to behave and get rid of our character defects so we willl be fit subjects for heaven this is sanctification.

the bible also says only the obedient to the law wil ever see God and enter the heavenly city.

misreading one word will kill you.

the law (love) fulfilled in us makes sense

the law of love REMOVED from us makes no sense at all

fulfilled means keeping the law by grace (divine holy spirit)

Christ in me the hope of glory
I can do all things even keep the law of love bthrough christ who strengthens me

faith means obedience, belief that obeys
that is what faith means
I will go pull up that thread again it is called faith...

whould YOU allow anyone into heaven who cannot stop sinning?
no way
by grace we keep the law, it is holy just and good, it leads us to christ and he sends his spirit and we abide in him
you cannot sin
you cannot break the law while you abide in him but the law is in force forever and ever will be.

why are you so eager to be a lawbreaker?

breaking the law is not love

no one without love goes to heaven no one
this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments

Any religion that says if you try to obey God and the law of love you have fallen from grace, is the other gospel of presumption

Would you say that to your child,
son, if you try to be good I will spank you!

is that Jesus religion or satan religion?

no wonder all our children break the law now, they were taught to keep on sinning....

The finished work of Christ is that He gave us something that would cause our Righteousness, and He took away what could never cause our Righteousness.

Simplicity that is in Christ

Galatians 3:23-26
[SUP]23 [/SUP]But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
What has he given whereby if accepted it would be the causation of individual righteousness?

3. God intends for us to rest on the seventh day, not just any day.
i think i understand more about what you mean by observing the sabbath... let's talk about that... as i interpret the bible, Jesus worked on the sabbath... he did good works... he did good works every day... i think that's a good guide for christians... good works every day... 'whatever we do in word or deed'

You give 100% of your life to God and then you tithe 10% of your income.
i'm so glad you're bringing up these great subjects... it's edifying for me, i hope it is for you too!... God owns all of each of us... the money we put in the 'plate' at church is (hopefully) just a matter of following God's direction of where he wants his money sent...

(i'll happily say that i don't always do what God wants... hopefully, all of us keep pressing on towards the higher calling...)

GOD will not relate with sin,and JESUS was the only one who could fulfill the law perfectly.
Man could not do this because of the weakness of his fleshi mean his thoughts(the inward man).
but JESUS gave us grace, and we have access to this grace through faith.
So that the body of this death might be delivered.
And don't forget john 3:16.

Son, you need to get someone to explain the bible to you. Christ said to obey His (Christ's) commandments as Christ obeyed God's. Christ obeyed God's commandments so that we would not have to. Christ gave you two, count 'em, two, commandments.

The Holy Spirit.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

John 14:26-29
[SUP]26 [/SUP]But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

John 15:26 [SUP] [/SUP]But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 15:5 [SUP] [/SUP]I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Galatians 5:22-23

[SUP]22 [/SUP]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

No wonder the Lord will return to us with a sword and there will be destruction!

People self righteously read a part of scripture and then say to themselves, now they know all about the Lord. They learn from scripture we aren't under law, so they tell us that now they know everything about law that God has to tell them. They also say that 10% of the bible is all they need, it tells them everything! The OT takes up 78%, and of what is left 12% is quotes or information of the OT, so, they say that 10% of the final chapters are all they need. Then they find out that law is a schoolmaster, and shows them the need for Christ. Now!!! They know two things about the law, they need a diploma from bible college. Romans 2:13 has now been cancelled. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. What Christ says about the law is cancelled, for these people have actually learned two entire facts about the law, so isn't that enough, yet?

A bible has an average of about 1,500 pages, many of them boring if you don't understand. Besides, you need to know a little of the culture and history of the people a book is written to, who wants to go through all of that to know God?

It is the mindset of all the new covenant, new chosen people of God. They all list all the ways the Israelites fail God, condemning them while they point out their fine qualities. Paul said that when we accept Christ we are grafted into Israel, but what did Paul know? Some even say Paul said not to listen to Moses, even if Christ said to listen to him as God spoke to him.

In it you shall do no work
Jesus said it was lawful to do good on the sabbath... i think it should be the aim of every christian to do good every day... what is good? 'walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the desires of the flesh'... how does that look in each particular instance? i can't say... 'The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit'... does the Spirit lead you to do the things you talked about? well and good... does the Spirit lead you to rest on the sabbath? then of course, do that... it led Jesus to heal on the sabbath, so imo a person can't always tell how the Spirit will lead someone else...

grace and peace to you!

Son, you need to get someone to explain the bible to you. Christ said to obey His (Christ's) commandments as Christ obeyed God's. Christ obeyed God's commandments so that we would not have to.
That is why He said...

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

And then went on to explain that He was speaking of the Ten Commandments...

Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Christ gave you two, count 'em, two, commandments.
Lemme see, Christ was the One who gave these Commandments...

Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exo 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Exo 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Exo 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Exo 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Exo 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

And then said...

Luk 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Then Paul explains that the Second Great Commandment is simply a summation of the last six...

Rom 13:9 For the commandments, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," "YOU SHALL NOT MURDER," "YOU SHALL NOT STEAL," "YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS," "YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

And the Apostle that Jesus loved says that the Loving God, the First and Greatest Commandment, is obeying the Commandments...

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

This same Apostle also said that Commandment keeping pleases God...

1Jn 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

The written code has been amended. To be declared righteous by God it is only necessary to obey the amendment. However if you refuse to obey the amendment no offense of the written code will be forgiven.

[SUP]30 [/SUP]What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; [SUP]31 [/SUP]but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. [SUP]32 [/SUP]Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. [SUP]33 [/SUP]As it is written:
“See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[SUP][m][/SUP]

Care to quote chapter and verse that explains this amendment?

Which of the laws does the Holy Spirit cause us to not understand or disobey?

How can it be that people call themselves christians but still place themselves under Judaism having no understanding of the Holy Spirit and how the Lord Jesus works in our lives? Its definitely a different gospel than the one that is in the NT.

Did any of your work cause your righteousness? Does any of your understanding cause your righteousness?

None of my work caused my righteousness. I had no understanding. The Lord Jesus gave me righteousness as a gift. The Lord Jesus Christ gave me understanding as a gift. After He did these things should I disregard His Way and go about establishing my own? I don't see how that would make any sense. I couldn't do it.

I suppose some people are still stuck in kindergarten trying to work their way to God. Building their tower of Babel... That is not God's Way.

1 Timothy 1:9-11
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
[SUP]11 [/SUP]According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
