My awesome, almost 12-year old son

invited my homeless friends with 5 kids to move in with me for a month

3. Have you ever found a really odd item while walking somewhere? What was it?
I found a ginormous wild hog while four-wheeling around my parents' property. I then became acutely aware of the lack of walls on the vehicle.
[I know, technically not walking.]

4. What Bible verse would you say most applies to your life right now (yes yes, I know it's all important...be a good sport and answer the question)?

5. A favorite movie scene: what is it and why do you like it so much?
Mr. and Mrs. Smith, at the end of the Ikea battle scene where they are back-to-back and shooting all their enemies. That's my picture of an ideal marriage.

Gosh,I have no idea. I really don't keep an inventory of stuff like that. There's been too many moments in my life to pick one thing.

Nope, not that I can recall.

5. A favorite movie scene: what is it and why do you like it so much?

I have so many..again,hard to narrow down. Prob something from one of the Star Wars films,or Love Actually. There's also the entire scene in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon at the end. Most of the scenes I like are usually sad in nature & reveal some sort of lost love or regret..a revelation of what the hero or character was or could have been..I dunno...I'm rambling now.

One of the last scenes in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Jimmy Stewart is on the floor of Congress attempting a filibuster and after hours and hours, he finally collapses. He has given his all for a righteous cause.

My desk (SInce I am sitting in bed). And on that desk is my bible, X-Men cartoon DVDs, bible highlighters, an old match box from Europe some where, old violin strings, other random and weird things.

I can't tell you the most rewarding thing because I have many of those 5 days a week at work.

3. Have you ever found a really odd item while walking somewhere? What was it?
I can't think of anything to type here. I have seen some odd things but probably not appropriate for this site. This is Australia, after all.

4. What Bible verse would you say most applies to your life right now (yes yes, I know it's all important...be a good sport and answer the question)?
Pslam 23: 5 - 'You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies....'

5. A favorite movie scene: what is it and why do you like it so much?
At the end of the french movie, 99 Francs, the credits start rolling, implying that this is the end of the film after the main character comits suicide (No, I didn't ruin the ending for you, they make it evident from the beginning that he ends up dying). Then it begins rewinding and plays an alternative ending that could have happened, although it never did. At the end, this man screws over the advertisement industry and then escapes life as he knows it to live on a tropical island. There he meets vibrant native people who take him in as one of their own and shows him how to live off the land.

I like it because although the character never had a second chance, this is what a second chance would have looked like. And I look back now, and I realise people would do anything for a second chance at life. I know this has nothing to do with the movie, but people also get caught up with super heroes because somewhere deep inside them, they want a saviour to come and rescue them. Little do they realise both of these things can be found in Jesus.

1. another chair and a washing machine
2. many years ago i stopped my car on flatbush avenue in brooklyn. there was a refrigerator box in the street and when i started to pull it out i found that there was a very drunk man inside. when i got him to the sidewalk one of his buddies appeared and was almost wild "YOU SAVED HIS LIFE .... YOU SAVED HIS LIFE." i hope i did because i told his buddy to take him to a rehab program a few blocks away.
3.lots of odd things but mostly people and places.
4. all things work together for good ....
5. the final scene of Harold and Maude maude has died and harold drives his sports car converted into a hearse up a winding mountain road and off a cliff. then we see harold walking through a green field, away from the cliff and playing the banjo that maude gave him.

2.) What's the most rewarding thing I've ever done for somebody? I'm honored to say that would be bringing two people on here back to God, with his help of course.

3.) Have I ever found a really odd item while walking somewhere? ummm, I found a few pennies cut into the shape of angels. Usually I find alot of rubber hair bands on the ground, proving that they do NOT stay in your hair!! LOL. Occasionally I find money, and one time, I found a ladybug lighter.

4.) What bible verse applies to my life right now? John 3:16 and the 23rd Psalm.

5.) A favorite movie scene? Hmmm, I dont watch movies much anymore..Let's see..I guess any scene from Touched By An Angel, when Monica and Tess say "Jesus loves you."

you're the first to remind me of flatbush in a long time. i used to go shopping there, taking the N/R train from 36th street/park slope (brooklyn) and hit the flea market and shops there.

$3 t shirts and shorts, goofing off and all kinds of other stuff that probably "fell off the truck". seems like forever ago now. : )

1.) What 3 things make me feel loved by a friend or significant other? Well, I dont have a significant other, only a cat. LOL. Hmm well from my neighbors next door would be their willingness to share anything they have extra of with me. From my cat, her unconditional love and acceptance of me, flaws and all. Last, would be the respect I get from my friends on here.

2.) The song most recently stuck in my head was I Want You Back by The Jackson 5/ Michael Jackson.

3.) My notion of romance is someone who takes me on an outdoor picnic instead of an over-priced restaurant. Someone who brings me flowers every now and again. One who is polite, does'nt swear, and adheres to his Christian beliefs.

4.) Something I eat or drink simply because its good for me. A Boost or Ensure nutrition drink every morning, lots of water, and salad.

5.) God is currently teaching me about humility, compassion, tolerance, patience, love and understanding.

3. I'm very new to it all. Long answer: I believe romance is God-ordained, awkward, risky, fearful, exciting, adorable, heartfelt. That it requires constant communication, respect, honesty, attraction, sacrifice, a big learning curve and some shared interests. Someone who loves you for who you are. Short answer: Arlene.

3. My idea of romance...urgh. The very idea is kind of repulsive right now. Can't. No. Just no.

God is teaching me tonnnnns of stuff right now- how to let go of what's not good for me, how to tell what's not good for me, that I am worth more than to be anyone's emotional punching bag or back-up plan, that I don't Need a relationship and that I am far more capable of...pretty much everything...than anyone has ever believed. And that I can help people in ways I used to think were impossible for me. And...there's a lot more but I talk too much

+being heard, really heard. not just passively listened to, but that desire to understand what i'm saying.
+in conflict, being treated gently. when i'm wrong, being told with clarity, calm and sensitivity.

growing my ability to trust Him in directing my life. that he has plans for me that aren't just to "teach me" but to advance my adventure, too.

that i can trust Him for more than just the areas of my life that are comfortable.

that He is always working things in my life, even when i don't necessarily "feel" it.

No significant other at the moment, but with friends the first thing would be hugs. A hug just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside and makes me feel nice. Second would be when a friend motivates me to do something great. Third would be honesty, when someone is honest with me it shows that they care enough to tell me the truth.

So many songs in my head. The one stuck in my head right at this moment is "Light It Up" by For King & Country.

My idea of romance is walking on the beach during sunset with someone who completes me. Being able to talk freely about love, fears, wants, God, etc. Enjoying each other's company even during the quiet moments.

4. Name something you eat (or drink) purely because its good for you.

Greek yogurt. It's not bad, but it's not the best either. I actually prefer regular yogurt but eat Greek yogurt because it has more protein and probiotics.

5. What is God currently teaching you?

To be humble, obedient, and honest.
