You are telling me that it is wrong to celebrate the Seventh Day with mercy added? If this is the case it was wrong for Yeshua to stop the stoning of the woman caughtin adultery. That is a very strange manner of changing the meaning of the observance of the Sabbath by another family member. I have never said one must follow the manner of observance to a T, but to observe the holiness of the Seventh Day, that is by keeping it separate. If my manner offends so much, I am sorry for you. My conscience is clear in the sight of Yahweh. What is the difference between my eating a little healthier by taking advantage of a sale and gleaning wheat in a field on the Sabbath. It seems there are unwritten commandments of which I am not aware, but you are. Thank you for your commentary, very understanding. Also, you really should pay attention. I have been referring to the Sabbath as the Seventh Day, and stress keeping it in the order God gave it at creation. I do not think you will understand nor take the time to investigate this. No one here is twisting around the preference of people who think the Seventh Day is actually the first day, the Sabbath of the Lord, but others do it to those who simply wish to keep the order in the order given. I do not feel hurt or indignant, what I feel is pity for a lack of understanding. I find your commentary supercilious at best. -Good night from Spain.

sigh...here it is again...more proof that the people who are constantly harping about 'keeping the sabbath' -are not even observing the sabbath in the biblical way-

in the bible you weren't allowed to buy or sell on the sabbath...nehemiah closed the gates of jerusalem on the sabbath to keep the merchants from coming in and doing business...the women who went to jesus' tomb couldn't go buy spices on the sabbath...

but apparently the only thing you have to do to be faithful to God in this matter is to declare yourself a 'sabbath keeper' and then you can go on just as you did before...

well this is ironic...because half of the time when the sabbath keepers see the word 'sabbaths' in colossians 2:16-17 they will argue that it isn't talking about the weekly seventh day sabbath at all...

but i guess double standards make it a lot easier to twist scripture to fit your views...
I'm probably on the other half which you missed.
Colossians were pagans who used to clubbing Friday nights. Now that they have believed in Christ they go to Christian fellowships instead so their drinking buddies wonder why.

Now please turn to Ezekiel 20 and wonder why there's so much hatred for the Sabbath.

Our love is for the Lord of the Sabbath, who is our rest. He is our Sabbath rest not the seventh day. It is He who fulfilled the law and in Him we have rest. In Him we cease from our labors and find rest for our souls. He through the Spirit is the one who dwells within the temple of our body. It is going to be Him who creates the new heaven and earth who we will reign with for ever and ever. No more will we have the same flesh when we put on immortality and incorruption, for this flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God in heaven.
So the Lord of the Sabbath say remember the Sabbath by physical resting and it's lawful to do good on the Sabbath you believe it's a burden you must speak against and until everyone stop resting on that day you are not happy?

really? haven't you noticed the normalization of adultery and sexual sin in society lately?
I'd say it all started with thank god it's Friday let's go clubbing and thank god it's Christmas let's party attitude.
But seriously, how often do you see debates on CC regarding adultery and sexual sin?

If some of you could you would go right back to the temple sacrifices and be content with that because that is how you relate to God. Paul disagrees with you and JaumeJ has a problem with it. The temple is gone and there is no more sacrifice for sin because of Christ. The temple that was destroyed that Christ raised up in three days was the temple of His own body. You love the law of Moses and have been structured in your thinking to live according to that law knowing that Christ was the end of the law for righteousness. Now who is being a religious zealot according to the law, me or you?
Let's bookmark this for tithing debates.

When NT believers do not keep the Sabbath as it is written in the law of Moses, is it a stumbling block to some of you who do observe and keep the Sabbath? Are you in unbelief over this kind of negligence on the part of many believers or do you write them off as not wanting to be pleasing to God or in having the same love for the law as you do?

Something very profound is happening here. It is a repeat of what was happening before Christ came the first time and a sect called Pharisees became important. The Pharisee were the ones who carefully listened to scripture, found some scripture they liked and used these to guide them. When Christ taught from the whole scripture they quoted their version to him and said he was a demon, now they are saying "false prophet".

Today they say that scripture doesn't mean what it says, it was only for a tiny group of people. They say because we must obey in spirit and truth, we are not to combine that with actually doing something, the two won't go together. They say that because Christ brought many things forward so He replaced many things that were only used to show what Christ would be like, because we must not use those things but use Christ they say we must no acknowledge those things as explaining Christ. A very favorite of the modern day Pharisee is the idea that God may not combine two instructions about one thing. If scripture says one thing is required of us and it is important, it is a favorite Pharisee like statement they make that everything else has no important, they use the word "only". When that word if included in a post, it usually is announcing that the poster is Pharisee like.

They say that listening to talk of these things is like listening to a Jewish Rabbi and they have only favorite passages to decide about Jews, like the Pharisees had their favorite passages they interpreted in their own way.

There is a remnant who listen to scripture, all of it. The way they look at Sabbath makes a dividing line. The Pharisees could not be taught, they knew they were right and they could quote scripture to prove it. So can the ones against Sabbath. If you give them scripture that Christ taught, or scripture Christ did not replace or that explains Christ, they say it has been cancelled by Christ. Christ is returning, we have a repeat of the same things that happened before.
ugh...here we go again...

you and i both know that if anyone compared -you- to a pharisee for keeping the sabbath you would waste no time in crying foul...but here you are comparing others to pharisees...

you know until a couple of weeks ago i had no problem with people keeping the sabbath as long as they respected christians who don't do as you do...

but thanks to people like you and posts like this one...it is getting harder and harder to ignore the plain fact...there simply -aren't- any 'sabbath keepers' who respect christians who don't do as you do...

of course when someone calls you out you will -claim- to respect us...but it has become blatantly obvious that none of you actually do...you are just faking it to take the spotlight off of your own lack of love...

you sabbatarians are all the same...all hypocrites...

and for the record i am not criticizing you for 'sabbath keeping'...so don't respond with some post full of self pitying bewilderment like you usually do...i am criticizing you for -hypocrisy-

This is a really great article: What is the Seal of God? - Bible Revelation Keeping of the law is the "mark of Yah." It is his law sealed into our heads that sets "His People" apart from the people who follow the Whore of Babylon.

My answer to the stated question; "why so much hatred?"

By the very act of keeping the Sabbath, a believer makes non-Sabbath keepers wrong. That is true of all of the set-apart behaviors of the Yehudim, or Netzrayim. Many believers do not eat unclean meat, do not keep unclean feasts, and do not wear mixed clothing. Not as an act of works to get into heaven, but in a humble desire to be as pleasing to the King as possible. By committing these acts, these believers reflect back the true will of our Father, and shine a light on the sinfulness of Sun-day keepers. By keeping the law, they are revealing the wrongness of what mainstream believers are doing. I'm probably not saying this very well. No one wants to be told they are doing wrong when they have been told and live in certainty that they are right. It's very humbling to realize that one's behavior, which was thought to be holy, is actually profanity in the eyes of your God. It's hard to admit to being lied to, and harder still that we believed the lie.

Humble thyself in the sight of Yah, and he shall lift you up. Amen.
first of all...God's seal is the holy spirit...see ephesians 1:13-14... the notion that the sabbath is the seal of God is just anti biblical cult doctrine...

secondly...the hatred in this dispute is almost entirely coming from the 'sabbath keeper' side...you 'sabbath keepers' hate anyone who doesn't wear the same label as you do...

actually keeping the sabbath doesn't even matter to you people...because i have realized that i actually do a better job of keeping the sabbath than most of the so called 'sabbath keepers' on this forum who have lots of excuses for not keeping the sabbath in the biblically proscribed way...

yet i continue to get attacked by these hypocritical wannabe 'sabbath keepers' simply -because i don't wear the label-

I wish so much that all those who know Christ, and are so arrogant in that knowledge, could really hear it when we tell them we have a "humble desire to be as pleasing to the King as possible" I am so tired of being scolded and accused of wrong doing because of this.
oh we hear your -cheap talk-...but your prideful actions don't match up with your claims of humility...

It is not true that I don't watch myself for Pharisee like behavior. That is why I can see it in the dogmatic beliefs on cc. That is why I study and listen. Why are you saying you can look in hearts to see lack of love if because I report scripture? And if you insist on throwing stones at anyone who believes God told us to keep the Sabbath, that if we believe God said that we are hypocrites, I can say of you that all of you who believe God doesn't want anyone to keep the Sabbath are all against what scripture says.

So, what are you reading me out for if it is not for Sabbath keeping? Calling me hypocrite, unloving, self pitying bewilderment, so saying "you fool" like we are told not to is mild? Have you ever been read such a riot act of personal "down with you" sort of stuff because you believe in not keeping the Sabbath? Never. You have read my posts. Can you imagine me telling you that I know your heart, you are a self righteous, dogmatic, my way or the highway regardless of scripture sort of person? I would never do that, have never done it to anyone.

Because I believe in all scripture, all from one God, and talk of OT scripture as truth that leads to Christ, often I am called a Pharisee or like a Jew from people not used to thinking of the OT as applying to their understanding of Christ. So many people see "self righteous Pharisee" in that scripture. You are not alone. I wish it could just be known that I am searching for truth, and report what I see of it. There have been people who found something not of truth in what they see of what I say, and checking scripture and my words, I correct when I think scripture says they are right. Happens quite often!! We all belong to God, righteousness only comes from Him.

was it loving of you to compare christians who disagree with you to pharisees?

you keep talking about following christ and doing as he did...what about christ's 'golden rule'? do -you- like it when people compare -you- with a pharisee?

i don't claim to look into your heart...but i can see your actions...and this isn't anywhere near the first time you and the other 'sabbath keepers' haven't acted in accordance with your own profession of 'humility'

and just to get something straight...those of us who don't wear the 'sabbath keeper' label -have- been 'read the riot act' for it...just look at all of the threads claiming that worshipping on sunday is the mark of the beast and so on...or just see how many times it has been insinuated that we are disobedient or sinful...

like i have said many times previously...i have no ideological opposition to sabbath keeping itself if a person freely chooses it and doesn't feel that it makes them more righteous than anyone else...but i have not seen practically any sabbath keeper who shows any sign of actually fitting this description...

simply put you and the rest of the 'sabbath keeper' sect on this forum have brought this derision on yourselves...and you only have yourselves to blame for how poorly your demeanor has reflected on your point of view...

Please explain what you see of "forcing of the 7th day". I thought the 7th day was told of in Genesis when it talks of the creation of the 7th day, and it simply was a fact. God never forces.

How could the 7th day be disrespecting Jesus? Jesus was there at creation, I thought disregarding it was the disrespectful thing?

And Please! explain your reasoning that it is self righteous?

You can rest on any day and do good on any day for Christ is our Sabbath-rest and the Lord of it. To honor a specific day is not needed nor are we obligated by any law to do so. The other 9 commandments are not a respecter of a given day, only the Sabbath was made such until Christ came, who is our Sabbath-rest. To rest in Him is far better then any rest we may do on the seventh day. Resting in Christ on any day is no burden but to be obligated to rest on the Sabbath can be a burden. He created all things in six days and rested on the seventh and our rest is in Him.

Also, you really should pay attention. it looks like i haven't done a good job of making my point...i am not saying -anything- is 'wrong' with regard to the sabbath day...i consider the question of how you spend your sabbath to be entirely up to your christian freedom...

my point is this...both of us are pretty much equal in terms of 'sabbath compliance'...we both go to the grocery store on saturday...but nobody attacks -you- for shopping on saturday...yet i and others frequently -are- attacked by 'sabbath keepers' for just this sort of thing...

so it appears to me that the -label- of 'sabbath keeper' is really the only thing that matters to most of the sabbatarians around here...isn't that unrighteous judgment?

and you just did the -very same thing- to those who view this issue in the same way you do...

luke 6:31..."Do to others as you would have them do to you."

and come on...the rest of us believe in all scripture too...we just don't -interpret- it exactly as you do...so enough of that already...
