you call yourself newbirth - surely you know what it is to be born again?

I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John;
yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

- Jesus

what i was hoping to imply was the joy of my salvation!
that i am changed, and that not because of anything i have ever done but one thing: putting my faith completely in Jesus as Lord and Savior, i am changed.
this does not look like a transformation to me , I don't see a renewal of the mind.....And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “
The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.

Believing is a work given by God to man to do.

good thing for me you are not my judge, but only my accuser!

the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son
(John 5:22)

we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
(1 John 2:1)

For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

(Revelation 12:10)

there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
(Romans 8:1)

So is the Christian that does good works trying earning his salvation?

it appears to me you still don't get it.

Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another?
It is before his own master that he stands or falls.
And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

(Romans 14:4)

why are you asking me to judge anyone's salvation?

The point, which you agreed to, was Naaman could not have been healed if it he had no obedient work. Proving "grace alone" would never have healed him. To be healed required he had an OBEDIENT faith in God by going and dipping. " Faith only" would mean Naaman would have just sat on the bank of the river and do nothing leaving him unhealed.

Naaman's obedience did not steal anything from God's grace but was a necessary part of God's grace, a part that God Himself required.

You understand that going to the millionaire's house did not earn you the free gift, but that work was necessary to get the free gift. Why then cannot the 'faith only' advocates understand obeying God is like going to the millionaire's house, it earns nothing but is a necessary requirement?

Just as grace only would not heal Naaman without his work,

just like the millionarie's grace only would not get you the money without your work

Grace only cannot save man without man's obedience.
We are talking about common language brother.

Walk to millionaire's house to get a million dollar, to me is not consider a work.

Compare with a million dollar I get, walk a mile is nothing.

Normal people will not boast and say a million dollars is the result of my hard work that they forget or reduce credit from the millionaire.

for me if I just walked a mile and got a million dollars, then I will give all credit to the millionaire.

Going to the millionaire's house is a work, it's something done which is the total opposite of faith only. Since the work of going to the millionaire's house earns you nothing, so what is there to boast about? Nothing. Even when one obeys God that obedience earns nothing, so it's nothing to boast about for one is only doing what is his duty to do, Lk 17:10

i am very glad to hear that you realize now faith is itself a work!
I have been saying faith is a work ever since I can remember.

1 - since faith is a work

2 - and faith is required to be saved

3 - then works (faith) is necessary to being saved, hence the title of this thread "Salvation is not possible without works"

That is True, and Scriptures then goes on to teach what a person DOES when they believe in Jesus. It is written we are commanded to Keep His Commandments. These are things we must DO. not believe only, but DO. What are then HIs Commandments, well according to man they are the 10 Commandments. But that is not True, according to the Apostle John His Commandments are as such:

I John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment, (Pay attention here they are) (1) That we should believe (Faith) on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and (2) love one another, (Works) as He gave us commandment. 24 And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and he in Him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.

There you have it. Scriptures that plainly teach what His Commandments are, Believe =Faith AND Love One Another = Works

That is the Truth, everything that teaches contrary to that, is false doctrine.

i'm only stating what Ephesians 2:4-9 says.

because without that we are saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves but the gift of God then no work of human hands is to any avail.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire....The way I see it Good fruit is good works if you don't bring them forth, hell fire is your portion...God said he created us unto good works .not to sit around and say I have faith, I have faith I have great faith, and faith is a work so I have great works because of my great faith.

Paul seems loathe to boast, why should i be any more willing to boast of anything but my own weakness and God's grace?
should i boast of anything but Christ and His power to redeem?

In this self-confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would, but as a fool. Since many are boasting in the way the world does, I too will boast. You gladly put up with fools since you are so wise! In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or puts on airs or slaps you in the face. To my shame I admit that we were too weak for that!
(2 Corinthains 11:17-21)

i am not going to boast of any good thing done by my hand to win anyone's approval.
neither were we called and transformed to sit around and say 'i have good works i do great things i have approved myself to god by all the righteous things i do' but to humility, loving mercy rather than pride.

Many here accuse me of trying to earn salvation by doing works, what say you?

i'm not called to accuse you or to judge you,
but Satan is our accuser and Christ is both our judge and advocate.

so we should give to Him every glory and acknowledge Him in everything, and He will straighten our paths and set us in the way that we should go.
it is just as important to me to encourage each other to follow in that way (as you tirelessly do!) as it is to keep us in mind that it is Christ that works through us through the Spirit that empowers us, not ourselves, so that even if by our hands demons are cast out and the lame walk again, we do not become puffed up with pride.

we're called to glorify Him in everything! even in our own obedience. if i am disobedient, it is not of God, but if i am obedient, it is not of myself but the evidence of my salvation.
i'm not against you but for Christ in you - that we don't fold our hands and close our eyes and ignore the great works God sets before us to be done, but also that we acknowledge by whose power the work is accomplished!

you always seem to miss the point, it is not what you do but what you are created to do ... we are created unto good works but if we don't do the good works then we are faulty and not suitable for what we were created for, and will be cast into the fire to be burned. Whatever works we do is to the honour and glory of God, to show that he is good at what he does. And put to shame the ungodly. But if we do no good works the unsaved laugh us to scorn saying "you are just like us where is the God you say that is in you?" some even say there is no God....Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

all scripture is profitable for understanding and instruction --

what may we learn and understand from this?

When the Lord has finished all his work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say,
“I will punish the king of Assyria for the willful pride of his heart and the haughty look in his eyes. For he says:
'By the strength of my hand I have done this,
and by my wisdom, because I have understanding.' "

(Isaiah 10:12-13)
