the faith of Christ speaks of the faith that Christ had when he walked the earth...it is the same kind of faith you must have...you must have the faith of Christ
Matthew 9:29
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
1 Corinthians 2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 15:17
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

Ephesians 1:15
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
I suggest you study the word OF as it can be translated OF or FROM and both INDICATE SOURCE.....Galatians 2:16-21<--Christ is the SOURCE of the FAITH that saves and justifies........!

we are saved by grace through faith....you twist the words simply because you don't want to agree with my post...faith without works is dead
Please explaining grace and faith to some is like endeavoring to describe orange to a blind person. How do you describe color to someone who has never seen color?

Where does faith come from? From hearing Gods word. How then can two hear and one alone receive faith? One cannot obey that which they cannot hear.

Agreed. . .

What does Paul mean, is he contradicting James in:

Ro 3:28:

"A man is justified by faith apart from observing the law
(works)."

Ro 4:5:

"To the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked (not those who do works),
his faith is credited as righteousness."

Ro 4:16:

"The promise comes by faith so that (intention) it may be grace (not works)."

Ro 5:1, 9:

We have been justified through faith. . .by his blood (not our works)."

Eph 2:8-9:

"It is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this (salvation) is not of yourselves,
it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."

Salvation comes by faith alone, not by works. (Paul)

Sanctification then comes through the obedience of faith (works). (James)

It's not complicated.
you are jumping through hoops....how many types of faith are there??? here is the thing... you say salvation by faith alone because it is not by works is of the law....and you say sanctification is through obedience of faith which you say is works ....if the two faith are the same faith ..then the first faith must also be governed by the same principle of obedience as the second faith....and if they are both accompanied by obedience...then the works that accompany them are not works of the law...

so Paul is saying it is not by works of the law...you are saying alone....salvation is by grace through faith...show me your faith without works...

Only one faith. Salvation is by faith alone. But Faith never alone. Faith will produce good work, as a by product.

Good work is only evident of salvation not producer of salvation. It is all the way around.

Right. . .so if works of the law are not with our faith in being saved, then why is our faith not alone?
What else of ours is with it that it is not alone?

Grace is Christ dying on the cross to redeem mankind....faith is mankind answering the call to redemption...the whole world will hear the message but only some will answer the call....they are the children of faith.....

if your faith is alone you saved saved by wishful thinking...
did I not say obedience...what is the message you heard....???what shall we do ....repent and be baptised for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift if the Holy Ghost...that is the entrance into the kingdom ...born of water and of the Spirit...
that is the promise.....if you can show me another promise in the NT for salvation and the HS...please do...

explain how salvation works by faith alone...with scripture...
if faith is never alone ....how then can salvation be by faith alone...you hold to a doctrine of man and try to contest the scripture with it...[SUP]

17 [/SUP]Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
so who do you believe James or Calvin???

Another void and price-less statement from you....I have the faith of Christ in my life and am currently possessing eternal life based upon His Faith and work.....you on the other hand have trusted into yourself and your own abilities...good luck with that!

So what did you do?
are you simple??? can you not read and understand... [SUP]36 [/SUP]Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

[SUP]38 [/SUP]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

that is what I did....
now ask yourself that question...
