I don't mean to come across as advertising myself or anything, but I am like you, Blain. :)

There was one instance with my first ex girlfriend. We had a really bad fight and she was upset with me so I made a "Sorry" card for her as a surprise. It was raining heavily that day and I remember standing outside her home for about an hour, holding an umbrella and clutching the bag close to my chest. She was surprised to see me and thankfully, she accepted my apology.

With my second ex girlfriend, I wanted to gift her a Pink Floyd poster in a nice cafe. So I feigned an emergency and got her worked up. I told her that something was wrong and that we should probably leave the cafe. She got very worried and was preparing to leave, when I gave her the poster with a wide grin.

So.. yeah.. I love surprises and I wouldn't hesitate to give that. The problem with me is that I am not so receptive to surprises, myself. I am very picky when it comes to choosing for myself so I rarely like a gift.

Well said Roh!

And if any person came across like that, she or he is entitled to do so.

PS

"I am very picky when it comes to choosing for myself so I rarely like a gift."

Just remember people are who they are, even when receiving (or giving),

Everyone has a different love language..and though your thoughts, Blain are beautiful, they don't appeal to every woman just as not all women's attempts at showing love appeal to every man. I know my brother is just like you in his romantic tendencies but his wife doesn't respond to those things much.. she responds more to acts of service etc..

I think every christian should learn their own love language and also know the others so they can recognize the love languages of those they meet to be able to "communicate" in terms they understand as love. :)

Chances are the "language" you "speak" (in loving actions) to a woman wold be very close to your own love language which is why it appeals to you so much:)

Anyway my thoughts

you are the rare one who's own love language doesn't match that which you speak to the girls :)

I love your story of standing in the rain.. GOSH that is romantic.. got me a little teary eyed:)

I haven't dated much in my life as girls were never attracted to me as a kid which is fine because I had standards. I wouldn't date someone simply to have a girlfriend I had to do it because we truly liked each other. as a kid even in middle school you were cool if you had a girl, but I have always been different so I didn't follow that and besides i guess even if I wanted to couldn't no girl would go out with me lol.

But now that I am older more mature( to an extent) and am a Christian I have a certain ways of being a boyfriend. First is if I am less attracted to her because of her looks then I am not mature enough for her, also I would treat her as a princess of course who wouldn't? another thing is I would love to surprise her with romantic surprises, like randomly on any day she would come home and there was candle lights a trail of roses and a table withdinner that i cooked for her. I have noticed however that I have never met another man who would do things like that, i mean women watch all these romantic movies of men doing these things and its obvious they absolutely love those romantic stuff but i never see ppl do these things.

Maybe im just naive or maybe just am weird but I think this kind of romantic stuff would be perfect

ROMANCE \rō-ˈman(t)s, rə-; ˈrō-ˌ\
noun

Definition of romance
:

1. A relationship-oriented state a man gets himself into when he was too much free time.
It is usually VERY EXPENSIVE.

2. A relationship-oriented state sought by women when they run out of chocolate.

2. A relationship-oriented state sought by women when they run out of chocolate.

For all the lovely gentlemen who may or may not be sitting on edge waiting to ask me on a date (aka, offer me chocolate), I am happy to report that as of tomorrow, most Easter chocolate should be 50% off.

The official State of Emergency is now almost past.

Hmmm!

There was a time this was the "official" language for it:

As a joke: I see English here is the official language of love:

CC Rules "4. English, please.
Please speak mostly English in the chat rooms so that others can understand you. At least please do not dominate the voice/video chat (or text chat) with conversation in another language." (Rules - Christian Chat Rooms & Forums)
