Covenants changed, which necessitated a change in priesthoods. Right?

You say all the scriptures are God's word. I agree. None of it is a curse.

The Decalogue was given, and the attending ordinances delivered by Moses. They included dietary laws.

But suppose I appeal to an older covenant containing a different dietary ordinance from God. Why should I have to give it up?
Genesis 9:3-4 (KJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

I like that commandment, as there is no curse on eating pork, as long as I avoid the blood. That one is amazingly simple to remember and keep, there being no details as to what's clean or unclean.

Let's say I'm a descendant of Noah's son Japhath. We are not Israel here in Japhathland. I am a Japhathlandman. We never heard of Moses. Our ancient father Noah said we could eat the herbs and anything that moves, so we always have raised crops for food, gathered fruit from the wild, and consume whatever animal we like to eat. We forbid the blood.

Are we sinning? Did God lie to Noah? Or, why didn't God make sure we kept up with changes in his laws?

A man came to Japhathland with news about God's Son. We believe on Jesus now. His apostles taught us something similar to what Noah heard about food and drink, and indeed they say never eat or drink blood. What he taught us agrees with what Noah taught us, seeing no great flood again, and we see rainbows.

The point is that God made a people of tribes for himself, called the group Israel, and set them apart from the 'Japhathites', 'Hamlanders' (Canaanites), all other groups that spread out from Noah and his 3 sons. He separated them by giving the Law by way of Moses, with blessings for obedience, and curses for not obeying. Israel experienced both many times, going from holy to wicked, back and forth, losing their lands, all their blessings twice. The nation turned to other gods, fell into all sins the Law defined. But God still loves them. He will save a remnant of them.
God has promised to save a remnant, which he is doing, and thus (in the remnant) all (true) Israel will be saved, for not all Israel is (true) Israel.

Just failing to obey one of those laws left them guilty of all those laws. So the blessings became null and void. The curses remained.

Raise your hand if you would like to do better than Israel. Think America could do better?

I am in Christ. To do that I died to the law with Jesus, was buried with Jesus, and rose with him to new life. Whatever hold the Law had on me is not valid, because when you die, the Law's grip is released. But if I had remained in bondage to sin without the hope of Jesus Christ, I would still be in the hold of the Law, for the law was given due to multiplication of lawlessness, and applies to all who are slaves to sin.
The law was given only to Israel. It was not given to the Gentiles.
The Gentiles were judged by their consciences, and still are, which also condemns them all.
Only faith in Jesus Christ justifies.

My blessings are according to promises of the New Covenant of Jesus, ratified in his blood, thereby a superior covenant of freedom. God's commandments in Christ are a far easier cross to bear. When I fail his commandment, I am not required to do penance, bring a sacrifice, or anything but repent and receive forgiveness.

Now for me all of God's word is a blessing, with none of the curses of the Law on me. All that remain are the blessings, for the same God made this new covenant so. Just being out from under the curses of the Law is a blessing.
We are also out from under all the Mosaic regulations, and subject only to the Ten Commandments, which all are obeyed in obeying the two laws of Christ (Mt 22:37-40).

On top of that he has blessed us with all spiritual blessings,
Yes, in Christ by faith, not by law keeping.

and sealed us with his Spirit of promise. I am freed up to enjoy life, doing his will to his glory.
I am freed up to be righteous in Christ, doing his will to his glory.

All physical ordinances in the Old Covenant have spiritual representations in the New covenant such as clean and unclean foods, the law of leprosy, and so on.
If this isn't recognized, then there is a carnal fleshly mind that is getting in the way.
Actually, it is the Old Covenant physical ordinances that are the representations
of the New Covenant spiritual realities.

Is it fair to say "if this isn't recognized, then there is a carnal fleshly mind that is getting in the way"?

Romans 8:6-7
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Most will just throw the whole thing away and say it has been relaced becasue they just can't get it. It's too much of a burden, therefore
the law is seen as nothing but a curse.
There we go again, with the straw man. . .saying "the law is a curse"
when what is said is "the curse of the law," as Paul states.

"Subtle diversion". . .?

Well, actually no. Both teach that there are two gospels at least. I have researched it and have spoken with many who believe in it. They both twist Paul's teachings and make it seem like his teaching is different than Jesus's teaching when they are not.

Do a basic Google search on each of them.

"Pauline Christianity"

"Mid Acts Dispensationalism"

I don't need to Google. I am Pauline as he was the Apostle to the Gentiles and for about 6mos attended a mid Acts congregation. Different animals. You're mis-representing them.

Jason, for example Paul was given (from our Lord) and revealed many mysteries to us as the Church the Body of Christ.

Rom_11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Rom_16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

1Co_15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,
(Eph 1:9-11)

how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
(Eph 3:3-6)

the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
(Col 1:26-27)

Mid Acts which I do not ascribe to sees the Church starting at Acts chap 9 (Paul's conversion) and some chap 13; and deny water baptism to be in effect during this Church age.

The law indeed contains many curses; and when Christians speak of the Law, they probably refer to Dt 27:26, which is quoted in Gal 3:10.

To say that the Law IS a curse, IMO, implies that all the moral precepts that Jesus taught from the Law are part of that curse; and most of us would not agree with that, including those that said it.

The Law is NOT a curse; and it contains many things of great value.

The curse of the law is given to teach people that we are unable to please God by our own efforts, and that we need the Salvation which is only available from Jesus.

Bravo Bravo well said , even King David and all of God prophets in the OT understood this clearly.

A Psalm of David.

1To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
2O my God, in You I trust,
Do not let me be ashamed;
Do not let my enemies exult over me.
3Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed;
Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.
4Make me know Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths. 5Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
For You I wait all the day.

Shalom

Well, I think the confusion has arised because there are two camps of belief in Pauline Christianity.

Pauline Christianity is the Christianity associated with the beliefs and doctrines espoused by Paul the Apostle through his writings. Most of Christianity relies heavily on these teachings and considers them to be amplifications and explanations of the teachings of Jesus. Others perceive in Paul's writings teachings that are different from the original teachings of Jesus documented in the canonical gospels, early Acts and the rest of the New Testament, such as the Epistle of James

Wikipedia:.
Pauline Christianity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pauline Christianity is a term applied to what some perceive as the religious teaching unique to Paul’s writings and distinct from the gospel of Jesus. That is, Jesus taught one thing, and Paul taught something completely different. Those who believe in a separate Pauline Christianity believe that the Christianity of today has little to do with Jesus’ teachings; rather, it is the product of Paul’s corruption of those teachings.

Gotquestions:
What is Pauline Christianity?

As for Mid Acts Dispensationalism: Well, you either are of a different church that has a completely different belief concerning how most regard that name or you are unaware of what your church really teaches.

Here is what it says from a Mid Acts Dispensationalism Site:

A Different gospel

Based upon the necessary conditions for righteousness, we can see that Paul not only taught a different message but a different gospel than the disciples. Whereas, the disciples taught faith in the Christ as the Son of God and commandment-keeping as their standard for righteousness,...

A Mid Acts Dispensational Website:
Did Paul Preach A Different Gospel?

yeah, those too...

Romans 2:11-12, 14-1511 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another.

My husband and I read through Romans 1-2 last night and it totally goes into the topic of this thread. Most of the time one chapter carries through to the next, and brings more clarification to what is being said...(any way, thought I'd share some of the points that we saw as we read.)

In Romans 1, Paul starts off speaking of the grace and apsotleship, "for odedience" to the faith among all nations, for His (Jesus) name.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Romans 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Romans 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Romans 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

All of those things that Paul mentions are part of the law delivered to Moses. The chapter ends with Paul showing that those are the things that bring judgment. They were handed over to uncleanness because they "did not like to retain God in their knowledge." They were given over to a reprobate mind. (It's only in Christ that we overcome, and being out of line with His will and His instruction brought a separation.) As it did naturally in Israel each time they walked contrary to God.

There certainly couldn't be any blessings at all in the result of their being handed over to those things.

The next Chapter follows through.

Paul starts the chapter with judging others and doing the same things.

Romans 2:3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

This is part of examining ourselves by that measuring line. Paul goes on to say this:

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Repentance itself always involves being out of line with God's will "sin is the transgression of the law." He forbears us and is long-suffering and His goodness and mercy leads us to repentance.

Then Paul goes back to the principle from the previous chapter. "They did not like to retain God in their knowledge."

Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Romans 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

Romans 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: Romans 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Paul includes both the Jews and the Gentiles in this, and says, "God is no respecter of persons."

Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

In the chapter before this, Paul said that they would perish, he said that they were deserving of this, "not knowing the righteous judgment of God."

Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Romans 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another,
Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Being out of line with God places a person under the law and we are to judge ourselves by those things, if we judge others and are doing the same things and not judging ourselves, it is hypocrisy.

Romans 2:17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
Romans 2:18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; Romans 2:19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
Romans 2:20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. Romans 2:21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
Romans 2:24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
Romans 2:25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

That also makes sense in regards to the previous chapter, where he spoke of those who were given over to uncleanness, and then Paul lists the things that showed their uncleanness, the things that bring judgment (all of which are contained in the law.)

Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

It's all part of the maturing process in continuing and seeking His righteousness, "line upon line, precept upon precept, and going from faith to faith."

It's definitely not about rejecting any part of God's word.

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Dear Cross Note:

I just seen your recent post on Mid Acts. It appears you do not believe that there were two gospels. Is that correct?

However it appears that you believe like they do in regards to Paul’s view on Justification. Is that true?

What is their view on Justification? Well, some are more extreme than others when it comes to them thinking they can sin and still be saved. But the basic underlying premise of doing that is there. Please take note that many of them will say they strive to be holy but yet they will double talk (like a double minded man) and backpeddle and say that a believer will always stumble in sin and or even do particular sins daily. Yet they do not need to worry about confessing it because they are forgiven at the cross. To them, sin can only cause a loss of a relationship with God but it will not cause them to lose their salvation.

Is that what you believe?

If that is true, then you believe the same as them (MAD proponents) as far as salvation is concernened (even though the Bible in no way teaches such a thing).

1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. <--------- Which is what the BIble says.

1 John 1:7 says if we walk in the light as he is in the light then the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin < ---------Which is what the Bible says.

So there is no such thing as a

..."I have a mental acknowledgment on Christ and I am saved forever by his blood of my sins" type belief" ....
(According to the Bible).

I would like to see scripture that says that the law "is" a curse.

I have mentioned that the Torah has blessings and cursings listed in Deuteronomy 11:26-28. The curses are listed in Deuteronomy 27:13-26, and the blessings are listed in Deuteronomy 28:3-13. In conversation, I have heard that the law has been made void and there are no law blessings because the New Covenant has replaced the Old Covenant.

Numbers 6:23-27
[SUP]23 [/SUP]“Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them,
[SUP]24 [/SUP]The Lord bless you and keep you;
[SUP]25 [/SUP]the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
[SUP]26 [/SUP]the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]“So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

If the Torah has been made void by the New Covenant, this above scripture is vanity when recited in the New Covenant church.

Now here is where it begins to make no sense to me. If the law (Torah) has been made void, the blessings listed in Torah are also void. Nevertheless the voided law still has curses, because "the law is a curse" as I have heard. :confused:

So is it right to call the Torah a curse for the sake of endorsing a lawless (minus Torah) New Covenant that replaced the Old Covenant Torah?

This is my conundrum; If the Torah is void so are the blessings, so why mention the curses in something that doesn't exist for the sake of endorsing the New Covenant that has no Torah or law? To me there has to be both blessings and cursings if the law is still relevant, but if it isn't, why do we continue to acknowledge this scripture? If we mention the curse of something, that something is not void, because the curse of that something is not void. That's like putting shingles on a house before it's built.

Galatians 3:10-13
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

If the curse still exists, the blessings also must exist. If there are no Torah blessings for believers because the law doesn't exist, then both curses and blessings are void also. Where did the grace of God go? :confused:

Maybe this will help.

Deu 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

Never in the history of physical Israel did they do all of God's commandments... never. So unless God is a liar, physical Israel was never set on high above all nations of the earth. Spiritual Israel however did do all of God's commandments because they sought it by faith through the finished work of Jesus Christ... the only person that kept the law perfectly in his flesh. The nation that is set above all nations is spiritual Israel... folks of all time that have been saved by grace. These people inherit the promises and are not under the curse of the law.

The blessings and the curses still exist. Those under the flesh get the curses and those in the spirit get the blessings... always has been that way and always will be that way.

We preach Christ and him crucified . . . just as Paul did. I just don't get why you want to keep people under the law of Moses? The whole of the OT was written for our learning [Rom. 15:4] - and the whole of the OT is not the law. The 10 commandments have been brought over into the NT - so what is it that you are saying "we believers say it has been made void - What has been made void?
First, I have never preached that it is necessary to be "under the law" and it is true that the whole of the Old Testament is more than the law God gave to Israel through Moses. Do people who claim the salvation of Christ Jesus have to reject certain parts of God's word in order to be saved because they are unable understand the Spiritual truths that the complete Pentateuch endorses?
Even if I had NEVER read the OT . . . I would know how to live my live through the epistles - that is not saying that I don't want the revelation in the OT - as I said there is much wisdom, edification, and learning from the OT. The OT law and the consequences of disobedience was LITERAL for the children [nation] of Israel . . . The spiritual realization that was foreshadowed has now been dispelled being brought to the light through the birth, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The gospel we preach is able to bring people to salvation.
I have found that by reading and searching for the spiritual principles and precepts of the Pentateuch that I become more and more appreciative of the wonder and glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for He created all things including the law. Therefore, I am adamant that we should never even think about installing our changes into God's everlasting word. It is "sin" to take away, or add anything to God's word, for His Word created all things. If these principles are teaching others that they must be "under the law" then we would have to say that the law was given without love, making it only a form of condemnation, and nothing else.

God set a perfect plan concerning the law. If we throw it away and preach that it is void, then we are teaching without the law, and the end result is lawlessness. Then, because the law is for the lawless, we render ourselves to be "under the law" of condemnation. I'm not condemned just because I think it's important for believers. That puts me in a category of not being "under the law" because I'm not condemned by it because like King David said;

"O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day." Psalm 199:97

I find it impossible to love something that is consistently condemning me. It's no wonder that some professing Christians reject the law because it is always condemning to them. Woe to the ministers/shepherds that don't feed the flock!

What better instruction is there than bringing people to Christ?

Did you know there are believers in Christ that still haven't come to Him yet? They don't even know they're supposed to. They think if they are "good" and don't break the 10 commandments too much they are ok.

But truly, if you believed my 2nd statement you would understand and have no problem with my first.

I agree with this. so you are preaching to the choir so far. Now here comes your next statement that I cannot relate to because it's your assumption of me.

If a person goes back to work at the law for their blessing they have fallen from Grace. So then, what are we talking about? Encouraging people to fall from Grace so they can be blessed by their work at the law?

That's pretty wild. Now if a person truly accepts Christ as their personal Savior, the Holy Spirit will teach a person to esteem all of God's word without being condemned. Even the law will be understood as a blessing from God. Now if a person is a quasi-believer, they will always be threatened by the curse that is defined in the law. That is being "under the law."

Now why do you always jump to the conclusion that I am "under the law" because I find no condemnation in it? I believe its spiritual truth that never will change, for man shall live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. If we reject even a smidgen of God's word, that smidgen will condemn us, and that rejection places us "under the law." I would suggest to you that you think about your position concerning the law. Just because we like to throw it away by saying it's void, or abolished, doesn't make it disappear just because we don't want it around. It is inescapable. Love the Word of God, or be cursed because of rejection.

There's Judaism.
Then Judaisms cousin, Hebrew roots.
There's the pharisees and the legalists.

I have never found any Jewish heritage in my genealogy, because I don't really care. I have heard that Paul (of the tribe of Benjamin) is an ancestor of mine, but that's no big deal either. He worshiped believing all things written in the law and the prophets, but I'm happy to say that he was a converted "legalist." LOL

I have not researched the "Hebrew Roots" movement so I cannot give any explanation as to how they believe. I know Baptists better than I do them. I do know that the Pharisees rejected the weighter things of the law, and were repressive and legalistic according to the way they wanted to view the law that God gave to Israel through Moses. In fact they rejected the writings of Moses, that's why they didn't believe the truth that Christ Jesus brought forth. Sound familiar?:confused:

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" Acts 17:30
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse" Romans 1:20

Today we are under the Law of Christ which is a fulfillment of the Law of Moses (Sort of like how an apple seed that is planted becomes an apple tree). The Law of Moses was never a curse or bad for believers under the Old Covenant (before Christ died upon the cross). Yes, there was a curse or "condemnation" if the Old Testament saint did not obey the old law. Yet, it is no different if a saint today disobeys the laws or commands in the New Covenant, though.

"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10:26-31).

No Law of God was or is ever bad or a curse. All His Laws are holy, just, and good. Yes, certain of His laws of the Old Testament are no longer binding for us as New Testament believers today. But they still have great spiritual significance and meaning to us that points us to Jesus Christ. So every word of God is good. The Law of Moses was a school master to bring us unto Christ. A school master is a teacher and teachers are good (and not bad). However, some believers get tripped up and still think the Law of Moses is still binding and we need to obey that, too. However, Galatians 3:25 says, "But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." Meaning, we are no longer under the Law of Moses. We are under the Law of Christ (that has certain Laws or Commands) in the New Testament.

The curse only comes when somebody tries to go back and obey all the Old Laws when they no longer are binding anymore. For many of the New Covenant Commands conflict with the Old Covenant Commands.

#1. OT was an eye for an eye. NT is turn the other cheek.
#2. OT, God blessed Solomon with great wealth, NT, Jesus says it is hard for richman to enter the kingdom of God.
#3. OT, Levite priests and animal sacrifices was required. NT, Jesus is our Heavenly Highpriest and Passover Lamb.
#4. OT, not allowed to eat unclean animals. NT says you can eat unclean animals.
#5. OT, you can be stoned for adultery. NT, Jesus does not stone a woman who committed adultery.

Now, it's not that we are justified by any law keeping in and of itself. No, no. Most certainly not. When a person repents of their sins and accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, the Lord will then do the "good work" within them (when they surrender or yield their life to Christ according to His Word). For if we sin, we do not get our hearts right with God by doing a bunch of good works, etc. We get our hearts right with God by God's grace by confessing our sin and forsaking it (By His power and Spirit).

I hope this helps.
And may God bless you all.

Sincerely,

~ Jason.
