Actually, BDSM has several "meanings" that overlap with the DS. It stands for Bondage and Discipline, Dominance and Submission, and Sadism and Masochism. Dominance and submission is a clear part of the BDSM lifestyle, whether or not it is accompanied by the other aspects of BDSM.
The fact that so many women "loved" Fifty Shades of Grey doesn't mean that women want a more dominant partner, anymore than Die Hard, 007, or Fast and Furious mean that men want to steal cars, shoot people, and blow things up. It's *fantasy.* Additionally, (and this may be making too fine a point), Fifty Shades of Grey has little/nothing to do with actual BDSM.
As for the idea that men "hardly know what it means to take a stand," here's what I have to say: Stop being an acculturated sheep. The examined life IS worth living. If an individual can't be bothered to make the effort to engage in self-examination and determine which aspects of their acculturation are useful and which are not, then that's the problem of the individual. It's not society's job to feed into every possible ideology regarding manhood. It's certainly not a secular society's job to create in men a religious sense of manhood. The very idea that society should make it possible for an individual to avoid self-examination by teaching them perfectly is completely ridiculous.

If you prefer to live under the curses of the Fall instead of the victory of the risen Christ, have at it. I prefer the model offered in the NT where man is the head of the family and is called to love his wife as Christ loves the Church (you know...by sacrificing his life for her---back to that shed blood thing).

When I made this post it was me asking a genuine question. I was not trying to start a debate or be patronized, mocked, or be talked down to. I would never do that to anyone else. Sure my marriage might seem strange to some but all the scripture seems to contradict itself here. Some may not agree with my lifestyle choices but that does not make me any less God fearing as anyone else. And to clarify I do put God first. I am not seeking approval from anyone (trust me I've been with my husband for 8 years and married for 3 I'm confident in us and in God) I was just wondering how others see this and o suppose looking for similar make friends. I'm sorry for causing any issues but I did not like being attacked for simply having a different lifestyle than others.
In the new testament, men are not instructed to "rule over." (That is not the language, nor the model used).
According to the NT, the man is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of his Church. He is to love his wife as Christ loves the Church. If you consider the life of Christ and how he demonstrated his authority, that would be an excellent example of how men are meant to exercise their authority. For example, Christ sacrificed his life for the sake of his Bride. Men *best* demonstrated their manhood in marriage by being servant-leaders who sacrifice their lives for the sake of their wives and families.
Having said that, I can think of no actual bible verses that indicate that men will be judged more harshly than women in a family system. (I'm not saying these verses don't exist, I can simply think of none. Feel free to post these verses and correct me if I'm misremembering). After all, both husbands and wives have authority over the children within their families.
I can think of instances where teachers and pastors will be judged more harshly because of the grave responsibilities attached to their roles.
As an aside: Please don't take to heart the comments regarding your age. You have thoughts and ideas you are exploring and you need to feel free to bring them to the table. Of course, you know I'm not going to coddle you either because of your age.

Additionally, the only problem I have with what you posted is that it was a bit disingenuous. You weren't transparent about your "lifestyle," but instead engaged in a kind of "Christianspeak" in order to seek some kind of approval or acceptance. It's the slightly manipulative representation that I find objectionable. Personally, whatever a couple negotiates within the bounds of their marriage is their business. I don't have the energy or interest to micromanage the relationship of every couple I come across.
