I know sometimes we get carried away with too much small talk and joking around, but in truth we are all here for the same reasons. Fellowship is so important in our faith in Christ because without it how are we supposed to grow in our faith in Christ and reach out to others? Because being able to be around other Christians we become stronger and nothing can get in the way of our relationship with God. With that being said I had a question in regards to the meaning of this scripture. It would greatly be appreciated

But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding,
But a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Wise people store up knowledge,
But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

Good luck! It has been my experience when I quote Scripture with understanding, especially that directly of Jesus Christ, I do not hear a word on it. I usually take this to mean it may have been understood, but oft times it may not be.

I sometime imagine I am walking into a hospital for those with perception problems. I have to assume they do not know me at all, and I do not know them, and whatever they might say, it is merely their issues they are expressing and not to take it personally.
I was hard to be told while reaching out to someone I was in fact inspired by Satan. On a totally non-christian web site it is to be expected, but here, not so. After I got up off the floor, I realised I was speaking a different language than the other person.
Even quoting verses cannot help necessarily. Take this verse
John 16:24
Ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Ask means to reach out acknowledging someone else has the power to give, while making the thing needed plain.
The response is yes, ofcourse I will provide, so that you might rejoice in the relationship.
Now to some this is confess your desire, like a spell, a creation of a thing, and it will come about, because it is your right to be happy. Now in an extreme interpretation this could be true, but in the real balance of scripture not so.
So scripture with understanding or interpretation is important in any discussion, or if people understand the faith well enough, concepts that are from scripture, but are also interpretative, which different people have varying views and there might not be one definitive result.
On balance I do love cc and its approach, and the mixture of backgrounds we have here, very educational, if not requiring a good dose of grace and love.

A man will not be established by wickedness, But the root of the righteous will not be moved. (Prov 12:3)

having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. (Col 2:6-7)

Another thing I have constantly pointed out, is using verses for a point is often meaningless as it is the interpretation of verses which is important. It is not uncommon for two opposing theological views to use the same verses.

While Jason and I disagree on several points, I'm curious. Are you saying that NEITHER God or Jesus EVER taught ANY do's and don'ts? And why does one have to be a "legalist" to believe that God AND Jesus gave some fairly clear instructions on how a Christian should live?

If you are on someones ignore list, does that mean you cannot see their posts or it just means they cannot private message you?
I have wondered why anyone would use the ignore feature, other than is a software area like Facebook, which means you can literally cut contact, but on a discussion forum, surely seeing all points of view is why you are here?

If you put someone on your ignore list, you can not read their posts, unless someone else "quotes" them. then you can.
as for them putting you on theirs, I think you can still read the comments they post.........dunno for sure......
