No one was forcing mothers to abort, but we'll see if christian ministers and groups are forced to marry couples against their conscience or else.

But they do force doctors and nurses to perform those abortions unless they want to quit. The abortion industry has gone on for years, and many people besides the women themselves have been hurt by abortion.

It was always "legal" for the behavior (homosexuality). All the court did was make all the states recognized the marriage. Homosexuals will still practice homosexuality regardless of recognition. It sounds like you're just venting.
There was a little more to it than just recognizing homosexual marriage. If you choose only to see that aspect of the decision then so be it. I was not venting as you say, I was laying out the facts I see them. It was not "legal" as you say. Our God has never said sexual perversion (including homosexuality) was ever legal. Had you read any of the scriptures I included you would have noticed the God has always looked upon Homosexuality and other perversions as an abomination. All the SCOTUS did was mock God and the constitution. The justices are there for one purpose, to rule on the points of law, and not to re-write the law as they did. There was nothing in my thread that stated I wanted homosexuality to stop, I am not so demented to believe that all perversion will cease because Christianity will never accept it because that is what is written in the scriptures, which by the way is the law that we follow. Apparently from what you are saying, you are not Christian, otherwise you would already know these facts.

The USA is a great country. Most people live happy and safe lives. Its actually a lucky country. I realise a lot of people are unhappy that your country is recognising gay marriage but you guys will still be Ok and I am sure the USA will still be a safe and beautiful country. I am sure christians here will continue to live and love people. I hope your fears melt away. All the best - Zoii
You are a foolish child living in your own fantasy world of simplicity. Hoping will change nothing, god is about to change everything, and you have totally missed the point.

Right, the premise is that it's "evident" this country has been blessed [in spite] of our wickedness. It still doesn't change an opinion to a fact. There is nothing factual in that opinion... you did speak about wanting only the facts didn't you? :p
No it has been blessed because of those who have honored Christ Jesus...and the society as a whole has upheld the morality we have seen in Christ.. This is a fact. Its also a fact that our society is now turning from Christ and now have approved those things that reject His love and authority.

I am sure you have seen this before, if it hasn't been posted in this thread yet. And anybody with a half brain and is using an 1/8th of that half, can see what is going on in this great nation.

When the thirteen colonies were still a part of England, Professor Alexander Tyler wrote about the fall of the Athenian republic over two thousand years previous to that time: A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage.

We are in the later stages of this.

I believe its true.

It is why believers need to get back to spiritual faith. Grow in grace and His knowledge.

our job is not to be an activist for Christian principles. Our Job is learn Christian principles and live(apply) by them.

Be a Berean.Be a police officer as unto the Lord, be a electrician as unto the Lord,be a father and mother as unto the Lord, be a wife as unto the Lord,be a husband as unto the Lord, live our small personal lives as unto the Lord......this is what makes a great nation and protects that nation.

People are not doing this and this why we are in the state we are in. We wouldn't even need to vote the "right person" in if we would live like this.

Shadow, you could learn a lot about kindness and tolerance from Zoii.

One of the most loving, caring posts I have ever seen in Christian Chat did not warrant your vitriolic and condescending response.

Of course we are still responsible to our society as good citizens, we are to use the liberty afforded us as citizens to further the truth of God, just as Paul did....Yes I agree, if its just words and dead religion? The world will see through that...But we are called to reprove darkness as believers and especially in our form of government. I also agree that our hope cannot be in politics, but it can be a tool to further the truth of Christ, just like any other tool.

I have little room to talk about anyone else's conduct, especially after being rude with MissCourtney, but the importance of Shadow's message to Zoii is much more important than his directness with her.

To quote Morgan Freeman from Lean On Me:

"The trouble with being a teenager is you don't know nothing. The problem with teenagers is you think you're smarter than people who already been down the road you're traveling."

This nation is going to collapse. That's not hyperbole, that's reality. The day is on the horizon when citizens of this country as a whole are going to disregard law and morality in order to get food in their bellies. It's not going to be fashionably elegant and it's not going to be pleasant, but rather it's going to be downright decadent and demonically ugly.

Oh please, I guess John the Baptist was super vitriolic in that case...

He said therefore to the crowds that came out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? (Luk 3:7)

and Jesus...

You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?
(Mat 23:33)

Sometimes love is tough. It's the apathetic gushy gushers that are the dangerous ones. Shadow was kind in comparison with the above examples.

Shadow's "message", such as it is, could as easily have been be conveyed with courtesy, respect and kindness.
THAT would indicate that he had actually learned something from his longer life-experience.
Her superior people-skills would suggest a far greater wisdom - regardless of age.

Your own certainty about the imminent collapse of the USA may well have merit -
but it should still be posited as an "I believe that" rather than a "that's reality". You are not God.

We have a verse that backs you up Utah.
John 21:16
translation: NASB NIV MSG

21:16 He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Shepherd My sheep."

Shepherd~~ Poimaino means to rule or clobber. The shepherd needs to act this way at times with the sheep.

Sheep in verse 16 is different from 15. In vs 16 He used probaton which refers to a sophomore or some one who has a little doctrine and thinks they have a lot.

Sophomore~~ there is moron in that word.

And for the record, I consider myself pretty close to this description. It just doesn't bother me much to be clobbered when I need it.

Doesn't matter what I believe; it's reality. Read Scripture. On another note, you also prove yourself to be in need of Zoii's superior people skills so you have no room to talk with that log in your eye.

Thank you, Brother. I learned something of great value just now with what you shared. And I love the last line; I'm right there with you. It's not about ego, its about Truth and personal growth.

God bless you!
