Disengenuous on Cruz's part as he is trying to woo disfranchised Trump supporters.
That is an opinion that I disagree with. Not saying that it isn't right, but that I see it differently.
Don't get me wrong, I liked Cruz's performance in the debate, but no one among the 17 is going to be a real cheerleader for any of the others. You've said in another post:

My personal belief is that Cruz is hanging back and that he is the only one politically savy enough not blow up his campaign by going after trump...like so many are...including here on this very site. Jumping to conclusions is the point when a person quits thinking and it suggests emotionally based responses vs a calm, cool, collected and reasoned responses.
Well, that's actually pretty much exactly what Cross said, so why you "disagree" is another mystery.

Then for God's sake, look for a leader, not a buffoon without a clue! Geez! ... Which is exactly why they wind up following either insanity (Beale in the movie) or ignorance (Trump). ... I'm not [sure] the people following Trump are true conservatives or GOP voters anyway. They need to be educated, though, you're right, not alienated. And if they're educated, they'll abandon Trump in a New York minute.
They ARE looking for a leader...and right now trump is giving a pretty significant percentage of people the hope that one even exists.
Only to about 19 or 20 percent of the GOP. That's our share of the "low-information voter" I guess. Anyone who can think -- and that includes you, Sirk -- realizes that my assessment in these recent posts of Trump's "qualifications" is spot on.

I don't care about a bandwagon. I don't trust a foreign born saboteur whom has tried to sabotage America before to be my chief executive servant. He's amusing for sure, but he is not going to be my servant. Simple as that.

When's the GOP going to wake up from its coma and start promoting their candidates that are actually good, that have actual experience and positive records?

Frankly, like I said months ago in the GOP topic, with the GOP promoting people like Trump, Fiorina, Carson, and Cruz I have to think that the GOP is intentionally trying to let Hillary win.
So to be fair, who is your poison? Jeb? Walker? Rubio?

Exactly. When is the gop gonna wake up from their pandering coma and their weird man pleasing tactics and stand on conservative principles instead?

Now I'm confused... good job guys! :p
Don't be confused, it's simple. Kasich is the best bet to beat Hillary and also manage the country. Bush could beat Hillary and manage the country, but there might be civil unrest if that name takes office. Rubio is a little fresh, but he could unite the GOP at the least. Whether he could beat Hillary though is an open question. That's basically all you need to know if you're interested in the GOP winning the presidency. If you're interested in having Hillary win though, just take a look into any of the other candidates, namely Trump, Fiorina, and Carson.

This is good. I like this post and it proves that you I and cross are closer in agreement than we think. Just different perspectives is all. I'm willing to look at yours and I want to understand yours and I also want to be understood as well.

Lol they aren't going to. They're going to condone Trump and the rest of the circus to appease a small mob-like crowd.

Ever read the children's book, "If you give a mouse a cookie ... "? That question is the cookie, GiS is the mouse. Shame on you.

Lol, it's not about what I say. It's about what they're doing.
You state your opinion as fact. Doesn't fly with me. Denotes arrogance. Something you claim to be against with trump. How ironic.

Lol, not sure what you're implying here. I'm happy give an answer, just not sure if "your poison" refers to whom I think are the best candidates or the worst.

Can I deviate from the OP for a few?

If so: Let's hear your opinions on Rand Paul. I am interested to know your perspectives.

No heavyness on my part...honestly.
My apologies then. Man -- it sure is easy to misunderstand what people are saying, here on the interweb.

It is a fact. GOP keeping Trump instead of booting him. They even are walking on eggshells to placate him. My opinion of that is it's pretty sad and shows just how desperate and disorganized the GOP has become.

Also, I have never said Trump is arrogant. Think you're confusing me with Viligant. I don't care about Trump's arrogance, that's even his own weak spot to be used to our advantage to get him to drop out. I'm against Trump mostly for his connections to my foreign enemies.

there are things I like about rand and things that I don't hit the one glaring problem with him is that he doesn't exude confidence and I think that alone torpedoes his chance of being president.

Rand is okay, I liked his father better. I think Rand and Christie thoroughly destroyed eachother in the first debate. Rand can be kept around to prod at the Donald though, but Rand won't win.

He seemed pretty confident during his 10 hour "filibuster" -- also seemed very confident in his remarks towards Trump and Christie during the debate.

Nevertheless, thanks for sharing!

I agree with you on all points except that on his father -- I guess I'm too young to know his father.

(Edit: Haha! I just noticed that you're 26, while I'm 31 -- I guess I can't blame my ignorance on age!)

Thanks for sharing :)
