Does God divide His law? Is THE LAW a total of 613 commands . . . or is it divided into 603 with the ten commandments set apart as ANOTHER law?
Did not Jesus "hang" all the law and the prophets into two commandments? And if we follow those two are we following all 613?
I just don't get all this arguing over the LAW into an "us" and a "them". Our (everyone's) faith is through Jesus Christ - once we believe, we are MADE righteous, we are sanctified (and being sanctified), we are redeemed and we are given wisdom - Now that is all in the inner man . . . We are to put off the old man (flesh, carnal) and put on the new man (the inward man, the Spirit) AND that is a process - the process of being sanctified - and it is accomplished by the holy Spirit residing in us to will and do of His good pleasure. We are being changed "into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord" - by the renewing of our minds. We ALL have the desire to walk perfectly and be pleasing to God BUT we still reside in this dead body of flesh - therefore, we will not ALWAYS be perfect.
All this is done by renewing our minds to the knowledge of God - as we put off the old; we put on the new . . . . We, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, are to put on bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another and forgiving one another . . . and above all put on the love of God which is the bond of perfectness -
So yes there are things we should do and the epistles are very good at telling us HOW to practically apply these things daily and thereby grow and continue in our sanctification . . . .
But tell me, when God looks upon us - does he look upon our flesh or does he look upon that new creation he created within us - the new creation which is created in the image of Him who created him?
