Hey Laura, I read your replies on that thread. I'm sorry if I offended you. However, those are my thoughts and I'm not changing them. Not because I hate women or something to that effect, instead because I believe that G-d would want men to lead and love his family like Christ did for the church, G-d is against abortion and homosexuality etc. About husbands leading their wives. The more I think about it... the bigger the task looks like. My thoughts have changed various times... in how extreme the idea of loving and leading my wife like Christ will be. I doubt I can replicate exactly how loving and how great of a leader Jesus was, but I'll try to be like him as much as possible.
For example, the love of G-d for the Israelites was like the story of Hosea. I haven't read the story so... what I say may be taken carefully, but from what I've heard... G-d commanded Hosea to marry a prostitute... Hosea was to remain faithful while predictably the prostitute would not be faithful. She'd commit adultery. Hosea being faithful was a showing of faithful G-d is.
Hosea 11:8-9
“How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
How can I treat you like Admah?
How can I make you like Zeboyim?
My heart is changed within me;
all my compassion is aroused.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]I will not carry out my fierce anger,
nor will I devastate Ephraim again.
For I am God, and not a man—
the Holy One among you.
I will not come against their cities.
I want to be like that. I want to be like Jesus for my wife. If you knew me better, you'd see I'm not such a bad guy as you think I am. I doubt I'll change your mind in one post... if so, praise G-d. If not, you have a nice day.
P.S. - About respect, I believe it's earned. I plan on be respectable and in that way giving her many reasons to respect me.
