But then we run into the problem of, "Who" gets to define "Who" a real Christian is and "Who" fits the bill or not... It really doesn't bother me when people accuse me of "not being Christian enough" or fitting their definitions. I figure, just like them, we'll all find out someday.
I've honestly also always wondered if atheists have this problem.
Do atheists sit around and accuse each other of NOT believing enough? ("You can't fool me... YOU BELIEVE IN SOMETHING. I KNOW YOU DO!!!")
What, exactly, would you call a supposed unbeliever who doesn't unbelieve enough?
Not that I'd ever subscribe to atheism. But after growing up in churches all my life, I've always wondered if atheists argue about things like that.

That's not really a problem, bc no one gets to define that for an individual anyway, a person is either saved, (a christian), or they're not. But just as the fact that in any given church on any give sunday there are those that are not saved (yet, we'll say), that fact is the same on any given chat site as well. The difference is that ppl are expected to be more vocal here, so you're gonna have some ppl who talk a good game, but are not really 'christian'. Again, it's not a matter of degrees, they either are or they're not. The fruit of the spirit is love. Love manifests in joy, peace, longsuffering, etc. We don't have to be fruit inspectors, ..... we will KNOW them by their love.

I'm also reminded of the parable of wheat and tares. Just leave the tares alone and it will all be sorted out on the threshing floor.
The couple of atheists that I know are so militantly anti-Christian that they spend so much time bashing Christianity and Christians that they don't have much time to do much else. The sad thing is that both of them grew up in supposedly Christian homes.

I'm divorced with a lifelong history of depression and suicidal tendencies; I tend to ask questions few Christian will even acknowledge; I scoff at duly recycled Christian cliches; and I'm always drawn to people whom the good Christians say I shouldn't be talking to (such as, the guy at the mall who's wearing a dress).
Just being divorced alone is an absolute guarantee that you'll have plenty of people in the Christian community telling you you're not a Christian.
I actually have a very soft spot in my heart for atheists. I guess I've been fortunate that while the ones I might be militant about the Christian system, they've never directed their malevolence towards me personally. I've personally suffered far worse harm by Christians than by non-Christians.
I've known a lot of people who endured terrible abuses at the hands of "Christians", and I guess to me, it was no wonder they've spent their lives running away from God instead of those of us who never learned to run to Him. Maybe they've had a loss in their life that they blame God for, and at least they're willing to admit it (unlike the dozens of Christians I've known who hurt plenty of other people, but always say they NEVER get angry at God.) I'm drawn to atheists because I see myself in many of them. They somehow learned to separate God from reality--many of them seem to see God and hell as a grown-up, make-believe version of the Boogeyman.
For whatever reason, I always saw God and thought of landing in hell as being a very REAL possibility and if I'm 100% honest, that's often the only thing that separates me from the atheist.

I dunno... there's an atheist where I work who is pretty chill. He doesn't argue about stuff all the time. He also is a willing worker, while a couple of christians are always standing around playing on their phones.
Mind you, I'm not saying christians are terrible employees. There are multiple christians where I work that are great workers. Just saying you can't broad-brush atheists.
