Funny, I was expecting a thread entitled something like, "Here It Is... Dieters, What You Really Want!" Just kidding.
Any suggestions for an easy diet....? that is still tastes good and easy to make lol...
Now this is the million-dollar answer, and if we had the answer we'd all be thin (and rich, from selling our secrets to Jenny Craig and Oprah.)
The ladies have already posted some great advice here, but I wanted to add my story is because what works for me is often very opposite from what everyone else does or says. For instance:
1. I've always drank a lot of water, but found it interfered with my sleeping. Even if you stop drinking water 2 hours before bedtime like they recommend, your body has reserves it fills throughout the day and then releases at night. I actually had to cut back the amount of water I was drinking by about a third.
2. Almost every article will tell you to eat small meals throughout the day but that's never worked for me, because any time I eat, I'm tempted to overeat or misjudge how much I've consumed. For me, it's easier to cut my eating to 2 meals a day and 1 snack.
3. I eat a lot of things they tell you not to, such as potatoes. I dunno, I figure, if I'm going to die from eating potatoes, so be it. But a common meal for me might be a large sweet potato, 2 boiled eggs, broccoli, and a bowl of fruit. I work a lot, so things like this are just simple and quick. I've also cut way back on anything with plain flour (including bread, as the stuff here in the states is almost all white flour) and simple carbs like pasta and rice. It's a killer sacrifice, but it seems to help. I also eat very little prepackaged food or even "everyday" things that most people have, like tacos and pizza, because it's way too easy for me to eat an entire batch in a day. (The people who've met me here can vouch for the fact that I can eat... A LOT.) I do, however, allow myself a couple of weekly splurges and sweets are always my downfall.
4. Don't underestimate the power of exercise! While I'm the type of person who wants a cheeseburger immediately after a workout (I've learned to refrain!), exercise isn't a free-for-all license to eat, but it does help.
I've battled weight gain all my life and it's been really hard because most of the conventional advice just doesn't work for me, and it took me a long time to figure that out.
I've never lost huge amounts of weight but my only "proof" that these methods work for me is that, like everyone else, I've gone up and down a little (maybe 10 pounds), but for the most part, I've maintained my weight for about 22 years. Right now I'm actually 2 pounds lighter than when I was 20. I have clothes in my closet that are 10 years old and still fit, and some of my t-shirts have actually become a little loose, as I work out more now than when I was younger.
Even after the wedding, you might want to continue to experiment to find your own personalized routine.
Best wishes to you, and tell us how it goes!!!
