I agree with your message here, but am confused on something. Christ did tell us to repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand. There is the need to repent of your sins in the bible. We have all fallen short of the glory of God, and we have all given into temptation and have sinned. Even those of us who have come to Christ cannot claim that we have done perfectly since coming to Him. But even still, we are still told that we must repent. I would agree that spreading the word that we must never sin again in order to be saved is wrong, but you do stand for the need to repent, right?
Hi Yerazabats.
This thought came while reading your post.
Maybe the emphasis to repent is more 'collectively'.
Whether it be Israel, or if we're praying for our country(s),
or as the church body, (see Revelation),
the message of repentence may be more urgent,
but as individuals, how beautiful is it,
that we can hear Him say personally to us,
'Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more'.
With that knowledge and security in our Savior,
that there is now no condemnation for us indivually,
we can come together to seek repentence where we
need it as a whole, ... where we lack forgiveness,
where we lack in duty or calling, where we don't come
alongside each other in prayer, encouragement, healing,
.....we can repent and ask the Lord to revive us, and then
the msg to the world will hold more weight,
but to individuals it still should be Jesus loves you,
He died for your sins and rose from the grave...
(as you know...the Gospel of the good news),
and not so much 'repent of your sin and God might save you'.
(I'm not saying that's what YOU are saying,
just that that's what some insist is the christian msg.)
Thank you for your thought-provoking post.
