Oh well, the main point I remember about it was that Bernie Sanders proposes that we could have free healthcare for everyone for the price of a cup of coffee taken out of all of our paychecks.
I'm sorry to say this, but that is pure, unadulterated BS... (Bernie Sanders).
If that WAS true, then why don't we all have a good healthcare plan for $3.50 per month? I know you are young, and probably have never had to really rely on your health insurance, but costs are astronomical.
I wager that you could take about 30 days worth of cups of coffee out of each worker's paycheck each month, and MAYBE fund health care. Are you willing to give up an extra $100 per month to pay for some gang-banger's health plan? THAT'S the situation we have now.
If money taken from working Americans was actually put to good use, helping truly NEEDY people with health care, it wouldn't be QUITE so difficult to swallow
If you truly want "free" health care, then perhaps the gov't should take a flat rate, say .75% from everyone, and put it in a pool, then let people apply for the "free" coverage, and only be granted it after being vetted as truly needy. Then THEY can be the ones that have a healthcare plan like Canada, or the UK, and all the rest of us can keep our plans.
We need 100% FREE healthcare for all people, regardless of what their problems are.
And, who do you think is going to PAY for that "free" healthcare?
