That may be true for some but not all, I don't "dissect" a woman I meet like that...I mostly notice her facial expressions and personality/behavior when I either meet someone or see them across the street for example....imagine if a person was married or had a significant other and the other person was constantly dissecting the opposite sex they randomly meet in the world....that would destroy that relationship b/c that spouse would have to always be fearing that their other is leering at the opposite gender and may break up with them because they are not good enough anymore...to the dissector....

Women are like a puzzle....if you only look at one piece you miss the whole picture....I'd rather see the complete person rather then only check out their "attributes", by doing that i'm limiting my relationship with them and also sowing seeds for potentially ungodly thoughts which can lead to ungodly actions...
Thank you so much for this very encouraging post, Ultimatum.

This was very encouraging to read. After all, the Bible says, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..."

Maybe there's hope yet! :)

There is definitely hope but it starts with men taking charge of their eyes and mind and not indulging a spirit of lust that is being shoved down the throat by society and media....

They tell you to leer at the opposite gender (male or female) and that it is okay and human to "check a person out"...but Jesus said if your eye offend thee pluck it out ....that doesn't mean become a cyclops but I take it to mean if you have a problem with lustful eyes you need to pluck that spirit of lust out of your soul and spiritual eyes and replace it with the Holy Spirit...Men like to use the excuse of "oh that women's dress caused me to sin" like on the other thread...but it's all about crucifying the flesh and renewing the mind...don't entertain satan with dirty thoughts...kill em off....it takes discipline and asking God for help but it can be done, my friends don't like it when I tell them this, but the truth is the truth....Our eyes and mind are our own and we need to guard them and take responsibility for our senses....and make them pleasing to God....

"Getting" it isn't a problem. There was just no need for it.

I understand what you're saying. But of one of the major goals in our walk as a Christian is to change our "honest truth" into what God would want it to be, not chiming right in and reinforcing what's "normal" for the rest of the world.

Maybe it's just because I'm a girl, but the first thing I notice about men tends to be his hair or head if he doesn't have any, his eyes, and whether or not he has any manners.
There's probably no need for most answers about skin pores, but here's 5 pages of them. If I changed the honest truth, it wouldn't be honest? When Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for Isaac, he initially noticed Rebekah, because "The damsel was very fair to look upon" (Genesis 24:16). We were all created with hormones to make us attracted to the opposite sex, I believe that's how God intended it to be, so there's nothing sinful about noticing an attractive woman. That's completely normal for men and women, Christian and non-Christian.. Of course, a Christian man looks beyond skin-deep and is also drawn to a virtuous woman, but physical appearance is the first thing we usually notice. Your a hair and eyes girl, I happen to be a leg man, my point is satisfied, neither of us care about pores :)

I'm just intrigued by someone who posts hyper-spiritual answers on one page but yet talks about women as if they're pieces of meat to be scouted and mentally devoured in another. I guess you're stating what's honestly in your heart? The struggle against the flesh?

Anyway, I do understand your point.

You're too busy looking at other things to even think about pores.

This brings up an interesting question...why do women have to shave their legs? I mean I know society pushes for it as being "attractive or what not" but I never got that....God made hair for insulation, why would women shave their legs especially in cold/winter? Wouldn't you be cold? I know I like a beard during cold to keep my face warm....but serious question who started the shave legs thing for women????
No idea. I think it looks fabulous.

Some women shave their legs to become more feminine and attractive to the opposite sex.

Yea but every woman I have asked never give me a historical answer lol...they always say b/c society says so or a variant of that phrase....

I'm sure the puritans/pilgrims who came to America didn't because the winters were brutal back then....they would have needed all the insulation from hair in the world lol...and besides there is wood to be chopped, food to be prepared, kids to be bathed etc...shaving legs...ain't nobody got time for that....

I actually had a guy comment on my pores before! I was like SERIOUSLY! Haha
So I think it depends on how superficial a person is, more than anything.

You know what's funny, I think it also has to do with what the "hot problem topic" is in current advertising, because it causes people to notice (and criticize) things they would have not even thought of otherwise.

I've told this story before but I used to have yellow streaks on my front teeth. The pediatrician told my mom that they were probably caused by a high fever either before I was born or when I was extremely young.

At the time, every toothpaste company was preaching the evils of tartar and how your dentist has to use a miniature pick axe to get it off. One of the popular boys told me, in front of everyone, "You know, if you actually brushed your teeth, you'd get rid of those tartar stains."

I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for those commercials, most people might not have even noticed--they would have just found something else to criticize.

Needless to say, when I was grown, I had my front teeth made over with porcelain crowns.

There is such a thing as large pores? I never noticed and I'm not someone to overlook details.

Also remember you are always more critical of your own appearance. For example, I constantly worry every-time I see gray hair in my beard, but not one person has made a comment about it.

I thought love was only true in fairy tales
meant for someone else but not for me.
What's the use of trying?
All you get is pain.
When I wanted sunshine I got rain.
Then I saw her pores
teng teng teng teng teng
Now I'm a believer

I do notice, but pores are not something that I really care much about. That being said, if she doesn't remove hair from her legs.. we're done. I can overlook a lot of things, but hair is not one of them lol. :S
