Obedience is a major part of our sanctification, but it has nothing to do with our eternal salvation. That was settled at the cross.
Those who attach obedience to security have no idea what grace actually is. The fact that you can't lose your salvation doesn't give a person a license to sin - it gives them the freedom to serve without fear.
If obedience (obeying the Law, good works, etc.) cannot earn a person's salvation, then a lack of obedience cannot take it away.
Salvation is, and has always been, a gift. An attempt to earn it in any way, negates it as a gift.
