I don't think i've ever "talked" with dead people. That sort of sounds like I'm standing around the grill talking sports with Casper. It's a lot more spiritual for me and to be honest - I rarely ask saints for intercession to pray for me. Just my personal thing. I just believe it's possible and it's supported by scripture. Now - here's something I will admit. I have seen with my own eyes Catholics who actually DO pray to saints including Mary. In other words - the prayer is constructed in such a way as to put the saint on the same level as God. And I think that is a practice that is wrong, but is born from the habit of asking a saint to intercede for you and I think sometimes a line is crossed whereby they think requesting something from a saint is the same as petitioning to God. Of course that's wrong and is clearly contrary to doctrine, but I think it can give a poor impression or be very confusing to those who are not Catholic.
