Neither Bestil nor Maynard were trying to "promote" Catholicism.... they were merely trying to add to the discussion, and clarify the ERROR on the part of the OP, in his accusation against the RCC.
They are NOT trying to proselytize... simply discuss the issue of suicide.
If they start trying to promote Catholicism, I'm sure the mods will hear about it, and respond in an appropriate manner.

I am gonna call it good on this one and stay off the windmill for awhile.
But I think it appropriate to let you know publicly that I appreciate the example that you set. I do not think that we would agree on everything theologically but you are a fine example of how to conduct civil, charitable, logical, and respectful conversation with people whose beliefs may differ from your own. It is kindof refreshing because that doesn't seem to be the norm in this forum.
