Neither Bestil nor Maynard were trying to "promote" Catholicism.... they were merely trying to add to the discussion, and clarify the ERROR on the part of the OP, in his accusation against the RCC.

They are NOT trying to proselytize... simply discuss the issue of suicide.

If they start trying to promote Catholicism, I'm sure the mods will hear about it, and respond in an appropriate manner.

But I think it appropriate to let you know publicly that I appreciate the example that you set. I do not think that we would agree on everything theologically but you are a fine example of how to conduct civil, charitable, logical, and respectful conversation with people whose beliefs may differ from your own. It is kindof refreshing because that doesn't seem to be the norm in this forum.

Even when confronted with your behavior, you'll admit it isn't nice, then kick that same hornet's nest again and again. It's like trying to reason with a toddler. It's funny. What 99% of you "know" of Catholicism is just hearsay and rumor you've heard from others. But, it's fun to be in the "in crowd" of Protestants that bash the Catholic church, and it just wouldn't be right to look uncool and actually do your own research instead of standing around at your church socials talking to each others how the Pope is the false prophet of Revelation or how the Vatican is Mystery Babylon or whatever else you do mental gymnastics to come up with to justify being hateful and non-inclusive or to feel superior to others. Its not that our beliefs may differ Bestil_Andno, its all about how the Catholic Church today has walked away from God to Worship Mary as their god.

Its all about how the Catholic Church today has turned its back on God to worship Satan. Since the Catholic Church has walked away from God, we can no longer consider the Catholic Church as having a part in our fellowship with God.

Until the Catholics reject Mary, reject praying the Hail Mary, reject praying the Rosary, reject all the statues and pictures of Mary, we cannot have fellowship with them because they walk in darkness.

"????? Where in the Scriptures does God say this? Show us the Book, Chapter and Verse in the Scriptures where God says this.

Its what the Holy Spirit says in the Scriptures that is the Truth, not what the Corrupted Catholic Church says. All you are quoting is what the Catholics say, not what God says

Sola Scriptures only. Opinions of Popes are not Truths from God, they are just opinions from sinful people.

Thank you... while we likely would not agree on everything theologically, I prefer to dwell on the things we DO agree on. There is likely much more commonality than many would think.

Considering the people that Paul wrote to, and the really serious departures from the truth that many of them were guilty of, yet he called them brothers..... that is the example I prefer to follow. Hopefully ALL of us will, over time, come to a more perfect walk in Christ..

The Catholics cannot say they are Children of God AND Worship Mary as their god!

Look at all the Doctrines about Mary the Catholics believe in.

1. Jesus was born without sin. Catholics believe Mary was born without sin.

2. Jesus arose into Heaven. Catholics believe Mary was assumed into Heaven.

3. Jesus can hear and answer all our Prayers. Catholics believe Mary can hear and answer their Prayers to Her.

4. Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God. Catholics believe Mary is sitting at the right hand of God.

The Catholics have made Mary EQUAL to God.
