Yeah, I don't know how they figure that out. Whether you qualify for disability or not. Once my grandma applied and they turned her down. This was after she was in a 40-day coma and in a wheel chair. Not to mention she had kidney failure so she had to got to dialysis three times a week. And then on the other side you get people who qualify and don't seem disabled at all.

It takes an average of 2 to 3 years (with multiple rejections) to finally get on disability. Almost no one gets disability the first time through.
To get disability you don't have to be incapable of working at all, you just have to be able to prove that you are medically incapable of maintaining a full time job. A percentage of persons on disability are not physically disabled, they are emotionally (psychologically) disabled.
My wife had a stroke several years ago and hasn't worked since. If you were to see her on the street most persons wouldn't consider her to be disabled because her only visible "symptom" is the fact that she has a slight limp. It took 2.5 years and two appeals for the system to agree that she was disabled.........then they rejected her claim on a technical rule. A percentage of persons on disability are not physically disabled, they are emotionally (psychologically) disabled.

She had worked for one of our local school districts for seven or eight years thus she had been paying into the state public employees retirement fund instead of social security. The technicality they rejected her on was that she hadn't payed into social security for too long (even though she'll still qualify for social security retirement benefits when she hits 65).

A man goes into a bar with his dog. He goes up to the bar and asks for a drink.
The bartender says "You can't bring that dog in here!" The guy, without missing a beat, says "This is my seeing-eye dog."
"Oh man,” the bartender says, "I'm sorry, here, the first one's on me." The man takes his drink and goes to a table near the door.
Another guy walks into the bar with a Chihuahua. The first guys sees him, stops him and says "You can't bring that dog in here unless you tell him it's a seeing-eye dog."
The second man graciously thanks the first man and continues to the bar. He asks for a drink. The bartender says "Hey, you can't bring that dog in here!"
The second man replies "This is my seeing-eye dog." The bartender says, "No, I don't think so. They do not have Chihuahuas as seeing-eye dogs."
The man pauses for a half-second and replies "What??! They gave me a Chihuahua??!"

Thanks everyone. It's 3:56am, and I'm just about to go to bed. Our whole family is just in shock. I knew she was depressed. I tried reaching out. She left a note, but not necessarily a suicide note. I guess my Uncle came home, couldn't find her. Started searching for her and started becoming worried so he called her on her cell phone and heard the phone go off in the garage. He went to the garage and found her. She had hung herself.
I'm in shock. I'm in disbelief. Knowing that I'll never get a another text from her, someone who says she's praying for me, or just laughing together. I'm sad, numb, and in shock.
