in my opinion,
the dec25 institution, has a long, deep, and varied history throughout the world.

it is observed in so many cultures in so many different ways, and was even observed before Christ was ever born.

it was even illegal to celebrate in Boston from 1659 until 1681 - and was made illegal by Christians.

Already starting the annual Christmas is demonic conversation ey? Kinda like the supermarkets putting up Xmas decorations in October lol.. Oh well, gonna happen eventually and it's mike's first Christmas with us :D

Happens every year lol. Christmas is fun and I especially like the lights and colors. It's one subject, I admit, I have no solid resolve yet.

----

And with that I have no contribution to this thread lol. I'll just be here to lurk.

Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”

If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience.

But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience. I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours.

For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?

If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for?

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

1 Cor 10

Wonderful, and can be used in all situations of life.

well, again, I think it is a discussion that needs to happen.
It is fairly civil now.

Just wait until the meanies wake up.
I will be breakfast toast.
spiritually speaking.

a little early to be attacking Christmas isn't it? what of halloween and thanksgiving?
Christmas is supposed to be about the birth of Jesus granted it's not the day he was born rather it's a a day we celebrate his birth although satan has turned it into about santa and presents many ppl have always seen it as a day to remember the birth of the savior or our world not that I am sure the op didn't know all this but this isn't a topic that needs to be discussed it's one that can be discussed but is one that is never resolved.

God looks to the heart and if I am called pagan for celebrating his birth on december 25th then so be it but he has yet to correct me in celebrating his birth on that day

Blain, my friend, have you ever researched the history of Christmas?
just asking.

Here is a better question. Have all here studied the history of Judaism? It did not exist while Israel was in existence, thought there were groups already forming at the time of our Lord.

There were Sadduccees and Pharisees, and probably other splinter groups during the First Advent, but while there was an Israel independent, it was a theocracy delineated by God, Himself, to Moses...........there was no denomination.

Since Christ we have developed not only all of the dnominations under the umbrella called Christian, there are also denominations under the umbralla called Judaism.

Think! We all are of the faith of Abraham.

just curious.
or maybe I missed something important.
why are you trying to explain Judaism on this thread?
not trying to be rude, but I don't understand.

Well I for myself do not celebrate Easter, nor Christmas,... I cannot have a clear conscience going to church celebrating these days. After knowing the history and the practices of these pegan holidays it (for me) is disgusting to celebrate Christ then.
I take God very seriously when he tells us not to follow pegan rituals and practices (including christmas trees and coloured eggs)
like said, especially because of the history.
Its on the people to follow God or to follow man. I think its a topic to talk about in love with one another without attacks. I will not damn anyone for celebrating those days. I just think people have to know the history before they throw it into the trash as ''Ill just do it anyways, pegan or not''.

Does this mean I'm going to hell for eating Halloween candy? *sob* :(

Not trying to explain anything other than we are of the faith of Abraham........Mankind has added the rest. No one has explained any of the denominations in tis thread, not that I know of. I did point out they are inventions of men.

Why? Because it is always time to share something of value, consider it a Christmas gift.

my brother, when I was younger, even for most of my adult life, I also celebrated the December 25 Lie.

there comes a time in the learning process when we have to step away from the lies and tricks of the enemy, in my opinion.

he has commanded us to NOT worship Him in the same ways the pagans do.
with respect, dm

Judaism has its own oral traditions of men.

It is simply an oral tradition of men and therefore nothing we could judge one another in respect to.If it does not deny the grace of God in salvation .Its OK with me. Its not a moral law.

Pagan traditions like the true fast on the Sabbath that was turned into three Kosher meals a day. They make the word of God without effect. I would be more interested on how they came to it.

idol worship

After the Old Covenant between God and Israel had been ratified, God called Moses up
into the mountain. Moses was kept there 40 days, receiving detailed instructions for the
congregation (church) and for the nation—the Israelites church and state were united.

After Moses had been gone some days, the people said to Aaron, “Up, make us gods,
which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of
the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.” So they took their golden earrings
and trinkets, and Aaron had them made into a golden calf for an idol (Exodus 32:1-4).

Moses came down from the mount carrying the two tablets of stone on which
the Eternal had engraved the Ten Commandments with His own finger.

On seeing this golden idol and the people worshiping it in merriment and dancing,
he lost his temper and in a rage threw down the tablets of stone and broke them.

Of course, just as some very large religious bodies who claim to be Christian do today,
they merely said this calf represented God—it pictured to them what they supposed God
looked like.

After making this molten gold calf, Aaron proclaimed a feast “to the Eternal”
(Exodus 32:5), during which they worshipped before the idol.

Go into an Anglican church or a Roman Catholic church today and ask the priest
or official whether the images of “Christ” and of “Mary” are idols—whether or not
they are worshiping idols.

They will indignantly say, “No! We don’t worship idols. We don’t worship the images.
We don’t claim the images actually are Christ or Mary—only that they represent,
or picture to us, what Christ or Mary look like!”

Well, that is precisely the way all pagans always worshipped idols!
But God’s wrath waxed hot at this (Exodus 32:7-10). God will not accept such worship!.

30 Be watchful that you are not ensnared into following them after they have been
destroyed before you and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying,

How did these nations serve their gods? We will do likewise.

31 You shall not do so to the Lord your God, for every abominable thing which
the Lord hates they have done for their gods. For even their sons and their daughters
they have burned in the fire to their gods.

32 Whatever I command you, be watchful to do it; you shall not add to it or diminish it.

Three simple words: "Grace over condemnation" but only for those who are in Christ Jesus.
