Escalators are so dangerous. People should really avoid them if they can. Kids have had their toes ripped off and some adults have fallen through loose panels or steps and got eaten alive by the mechanism inside which is like a meat grinder.

One woman in China fell in one at a big shopping mall because workers didn't properly secure a panel after they got done and it took 3 hours to recover her body. Another woman who was standing near her tried to pull her up right after she fell but the machine got hold of her and literally yanked her down into it. She was able to hand her baby boy to one of the women who tried to help but in just a second or two she got yanked into the machine and there's video of it on youtube because it was all over the news. I think it was last year. I'd post a link but it's very graphic.
Well... cars are dangerous as well, yet many use them every day. I am pretty sure way more people die in car accidents than using escalators :p

I saw that video, it's very sad. :(
Here is a jumping technique for the escalator. I hadn't realized it was like a meat grinder, but looking at the picture, it's clear that you're right ZT.

But you can take many precautions to lessen your chance of an accident in a car, plus they have many safety features like airbags, seal belts, built to government crash-test standards, etc.... With escalators there is no way to protect yourself or even see an accident about to happen so you can't take quick steps to avoid it.. (no pun intended )

Some people might dislike or not agree with this post, and that's fine. I mean, I'm not trying to coerce you or anything.

...but you know what really sucks? When you think about your family, friends, or someone you know, see regularly or care about.... The reality is that we all will enviably die, and there's only two ultimate results for what we chose to do while we were living.

One is that we come to Jesus, and get adopted into The Father God's family both while alive on Earth and in the afterlife.

The other is that we live for ourselves, others, cultures, philosophies, academics, or whatever it may be that draws us away from God, takes His place, and ultimately leads us to eternal death rather than eternal life. We tend to call that Hell, both while alive and in the afterlife.

...so, what's the sucky part and reason I brought up those you know and love? For those of us who choose Jesus and His family, even though we die, we will live and be together again forever (eternity & heaven). Those who chose other than Jesus; however, no matter how dear to us, will die in their sins and be eternally lost...we'll never see or be with them again...and even if we do see them, like the story of Lazurus and the rich man, they'll be in eternal death and the flames of Hell. No more chances. No way to fix or change that.

In movies, when the protagonist sees his/her loved ones die and gets a chance to go back and change time and 'fate', he/she does so frantically and relentlessly out of a mixture of love, urgency, the fear of the reality of losing them, etc...

What about us in real life with the reality of both spiritual and physical life and death for eternity? Are we saved, and if so... Isn't there anyone else you want to save? Isn't there someone you would frantically fight against time and 'fate' for?

I think that is why we get so lost in movies.... it would be so much easier if we could literally fight evil (as in, if I could take the sword from under my bed and hit Evil with it, rather than trying to figure out life in general)

I'm not talking about anyone or anything on CC, just a question in general, do you ever just want to scream, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, at someone??? Like when someone who has zilcho children or even someone with children interjects their opinions and wasn't asked? My children are well loved and well cared for. I'm not perfect, 95% of my parenting is asking God for guidance and the other 5% is winging it. I'm pretty much left to make decisions alone, not what I wanted but it is my life so I make the best of it. I just wish people would think before they speak.

So I'll spill what I'm talking about. My Sons in 5th grade, 5th grade at school went to this camp for two nights and three days. He has anxiety. I work with him on this almost daily. He's got a nice group of friends at school, I was going to force him to go. Long story short, I didn't. His anxiety about it was through the roof. I even offered one night and a day and I'd pick him up. Well he didn't go, he's at school while they're there. It's not an enormous deal. I tried, I did. Well someone said, Oh, you should have made him go. Thank God my other friend who didn't know that was said to me, said, I wouldn't have forced him. She has a child with anxiety and her child is very sensitive like mine. Frankly I'm to the point I'm looking forward to cyber school for my kid's.

My biggest fear is elevators. I would rather climb 6 flights of stairs then ride in one. Yes, it is that bad. And will still do it to this day, if I was not always so congested.

Kids with high anxiety will either calm down once they are having fun, or else, they will have the longest melt down you have ever seen. Yep deal with this all the time, not to mention having been the one of the latter when I was in 5th grade. (When I wanted my dad, nothing and no one could console me.)

I'm sorry some jerk who wasn't thinking said that to you. Why can't people just support each other? Be a HUMAN. It's not hard. You made the best decision for your child. You have peace in that. Love ya. :)

Don't quote me on this but I think it's "is". If you take out ZT's nick it reads "I just now noticed all the candy in his avatar is spelled wrong.

I'm not grammar expert but the way I understand it is if it's plural it's "are" and if the word is singular it's is. For example:

"I just noticed all the candies in his avatar are spelled wrong."

When adding the nick that is possessive "Zeroturbulance's" it makes one wonder if it should be "is" or "are" because of the plural feel that word gives the sentence. I believe the nick is irrelevant, though. Whether the verb should be "is" or "are" is based on the noun it directly applies to.

Make sense? I could be totally wrong but at least I sound like I know what I'm talking about. ;)

When you're getting a pedicure (because Disney World is in less than two days) and the guy doing your pedicure asks who did your fingernails and you say, "I did" and he says, "You did that?" And I say, "yes" and he nods giving a cute face of approval. Yeah. That made my night.

I try to keep this in mind whenever I'm tempted to give advice on something. It's really easy to give your opinion about something you've never gone through.
