Appreciate your thoughts. However, the prophecy in question stated that all nationswould be against Israel. Having said that,,,,,the Vote at the UN could have very well changed the face of the 'obvious' history you speak of... We are living in the times when a portion of the Bible prophecy is viewable by ourselves.
I stated my view of the possible actions by neighboring nations (psalm 83)elsewhere. Even though the new president of the US supports Israel, He will most likely will not able to change the UN actions because of the veto power of others. Therefore if Israel does not comply to the UN resolution, Neighboring border nations could very well take it as an OK to perform vigilante actions.
The Bible does not tell us of anything about final results of the Psalm 83 War, yet it does tell us that Israel is at peace, fat and sassy (rich and prosperous), living without walls. Yes, they still do believe the messiah is yet to come but the Bible tells us God will turn his attention to them after the fulfillment of His Church. Therefore, he is going to take care of them until that time.
There are several more prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled and several of them are ripe for the picking. (i.e the destruction of Damascus and the Elam event (here Israel is involved). These may all very well become extras to the Psalm 83 war.
p_rehbein... at the beginning of WWII in the pacific (i.e. attack on Pearl Harbor) we had intelligence reports that the Japanese were fixing to hit the Harbor. Yet, we did not remove our ships. Within about one week (7 days), 3000+ sailors had died.
Major events that have happened in History seem to always be caused by some 'LITTLE' detail that happened innocently and seemingly innocuous yet started a clock that resulted in the deaths of millions.
This action by the UN and subsequent NON-Action by the US could very well be one of those 'LITTLE' details.
Have a good day SIR.
