Here, this should help you fellaz out...

1 John 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Hypocrisy and deceit 101. Note the mocking and ridicule towards the Biblical doctrine of faith being a gift that I mentioned along with Scripture proofs:

Now note the deceit and lies of the follow up:

That is really shameful behavior on the part of a professing believer, deceitful, disingenuous, and an outright lie. No wonder our churches are in such disarray.
You should look in the mirror.....your not all that pal!

My new saying for deceived ones that take the proverbial cake of contradiction....we now have like four or five cake takers on cc that do exactly what they accuse others of doing....their top characteristic is to deny the work of Christ, saving faith and embellish the gospel with a working for pseudo salvation that is not salvation at all....

AMEN and the blood is applied by faith = salvation....no works added......God was clear...when I see the blood I will pass over you......

People must be blind....God testifies to BELIEVERS when he states, "WHERE sin abounds, GRACE did much more abound"

Those who deny that they still sin after bibilcal salvation are

a. Deceived and or lying
b. Assuming this means that we are saying that you can live a lifestyle of sin
c. Blind to the truth it seems

Not once in this thread has Peter expressed gratitude for the sacrifice jesus made for him. He has only spoke of his own righteousness and clean heart. The true mark of a saved by grace individual is a heart of gratitude that he has been shown undeserved unmerited mercy. Sorry Peter...you're an arrogant Pharisee and it is written all over this thread. I bet you couldn't even stomach going back and reading your own words.
AMEN to this one....such are the ways of the "cake takers"<---workers for!

All of this, the creature will have evidence. The creature will have works. The creature will have fruits. The creature this. The creature that, love, heart purity Blah, blah, blah.

And hardly a mention of what the CREATOR of the universe did for us puny, can't get a thing right creatures.

It's such a blatant denial of His work for us. It isn't an attack on our doctrine or our beliefs. It is an attack on His very character, nature,Grace and integrity.

I hear ya.......All glory to Jesus and his finished work on our behalf......to interject self and works of righteousness as part of the equation for salvation is a slap in the face to Jesus and what he has done.....

No one is intejecting self, we are saying simply Christ saved us to walk with Him.
If we do not fulfil this calling we are not worthy of the calling.

If you can walk, or your body walk without you in control, you body has become
possessed. Is this your spiritual goal to be possessed by God, rather than to walk
fully human, but fully in communion and one with God.

To not see this fulfilment or know it in ones life is to miss everything.

When Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus do you think they were just possessed
spirits incapable of free will and self expression?

You can end up diminishing the whole point of the gospel because you are so scared
of you sin and desires getting in the way. This is a real problem until you learn what
repentance and cleansing truly is in the heart.

Not wishing to shock anyone and be black balled.

Today I have sinned. Without realising it I broke the speed limit. When I saw that I was 3 miles per hour over it I released the gas pedal. Oh and also I got annoyed at someone in Starbucks when they didn't make the coffee I paid for.

I could go on with what I have done today that has fallen short of the standard of God. I have my weaknesses that I struggle to overcome.

I used to be entangled in what I call the web of deceit. This web is that "I must not sin in order to show God I love him, if I do then I don't love him and if I do sin and have not confessed it before I die then I'm going to place where a hot poker is stuck up my bum"

What I find mainly is that people who say things like this mainly quote the words of Jesus.

Now the truth is that Jesus came to Israel, the Jews, he did not come for us Gentiles.

Matthew 15:24

But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

So when Jesus interacted with people they were mainly Jews, those under the Old Covenant. The New Covenant was not in place yet.

If memory serves me there were only two occasions when he interacted with the gentiles.

The verse I quoted above was concerning the gentile woman's daughter who was demon possessed and the Romans centurions servant.

I am open to correction here.

I may have digressed but what I fine intersting is that those who preach along the lines of the web that entangled me probably have taken it from what Jesus said to the community of Israel.

Firstly the adulteress woman
"Go sin no more"

and to invalid by the Pool of Bethesda.

See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you” (verse 14). It is clear that Jesus knew what had caused the man’s condition.

Jesus warned the man that he had been given a second chance and that he should make better choices. If the man returned to his sinful behavior, he would have wasted the opportunity Jesus gave him to live whole and forgiven.

So now we have go sin no more and if you do then I am sorry mate but your going to a place where I'm gonna stick a hot poker up your bum.

Really?

Jesus is not talking about sinless perfection here.

He is telling us as beleivers not to go back to the sinful lifestyle that he has set us free from.

If he knew we could be sinless based on his teaching then there was no need fo him to die
He knew that even after placing our faith in him we would sin, he also knew that we needed help to be like him. That is also why he had to die and go back to heaven so that the Holy Spirit would come.

The Holy Spirit as a deposit of our inheritance to conform us to the image of Christ. Don't reverse that. He conforms us, not ourselves.

We will sin, and if we are truly in Christ we won't want to sin but when we do we have a mediator,

Hebrews 9:15
And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

I know I will sin tomorrow (sorry if that upsets you) but I pray I don't. I want to be like Jesus but I know I can't. Yes it hurts me but I strive to be. Not to earn his love but because I love him. I want to be like my brother and I need him to help me.

And when I get it wrong he knows and understands. He walked the walk and he will walk that walk with me, warts and all.

I will digress back to the gentile woman and what Jesus said to her

Matthew 15:28

Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Did sin/condemnation come into mankind by one mans sins? Was our condemnation imputed to us at birth?Or did we have to be taught how to sin, and sin ourselves to be condemned?

Sin was imputed to us by one man(Adam.) Righteousness is imputed to us by one man(The Lord Jesus Christ.)

New American Standard Bible
For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

Bill, I like you. Teaching does not make us righteous, it is the relationship and our
reaction to it. With an open heart, confessing and repenting of sin and reaching out
to love and letting Jesus's words change us we become different people.

You may not have experienced this, or only in a small part, but foundationally we
are built on our identities and experiences. Christ creates a new identity in us
through the cross and if we abide in the vine we become what He intends.

The limits of this are only based on the limits of our faith and walk. So many
have limits because they have not really believed and gone to that place deep
in them and bowed at the foot of the cross. This language is even alien to them,
the place of surrender, of abandoning self and ones own aims and just letting God
have His way.

Now I know many know His voice, and to those I just say, Amen brothers and sisters.

God bless you all in Him, for He is our Lord and Saviour, Amen.

Right, and a true believer is qualified by the NT Scriptures.

One may believe, but if the person does not repent, or, has not repented the person is not a genuine believer; Acts 11:18; 2 Timothy 2:25; 2 Peter 3:9. This is called easy-believe-ism. It is rejected by Scripture; 2 Timothy 2:15.

One may say he believes, yet if he is not being transformed by the Gospel, a new creature, he is not a believer; Romans 12:1ff; 2 Corinthians 3:17ff, 2 Corinthians 5:17. This is held by those who believe there is no evidence of conversion, another fomr of easy-believe-ism and stems from the false teachings of FGT coming from Dallas Theological Seminary and Grace Evangelical Society.

One may say he believes, but if he lives and practices sin, he is deceived and is not a believer; 1 John; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19ff, Hebrews 12:14. Persons who support such in their sin, and claim them as saved no matter what are preaching antinomianism. This is what Christ dealt with in Matthew 7:21 ff, those who live lawlessly.

The bottom line? The tree is known by its fruit.

Yet non of those people were saved BECAUSE of those works.

They did the works BECAUSE THEY WERE SAVED.

Anyone who teaches otherwise. Teaches works salvation. Teaches self righteousness.
