so you're saying that Matthew 713-14 only applies to Jews who have heard about Jesus and the rest of the world is exempt?
Well, let's see. YES.
If someone has NEVER HEARD OF JESUS, how could God hold him responsible for never having heard of Him???

Is God a just God or not?

I'll be you believe in eternal security.

SO, God is just in keeping you saved even if you don't want to be,
BUT, He's not just enough to consider a person that has never heard of Jesus or is raised in a different culture.

A study of Romans 1:19-20 And Romans 2:14-15 is in order.

Romans 1:18-20 does not back up your argument. *Notice they are "without excuse." Romans 2:14-15 doesn't back up your argument either. Jesus clearly meant what He said in Matthew 7:13-14 about many and few. You need to quit fighting against the truth.

when you give to the needy, boast in my name Jesus tell the people the course.............do it in such a way that brings glory to God...

So the glory continues at cc.. coz people of God continue to support it and with there generosity from the heart they perform a good works and make a donation..

tell me is it a crime for me to say that im thinking about making a donation to cc ////

and then tell me the reason why..

I some how seem torn now coz ive been told im a bragger for telling my brothers ive done the work of what the lord would wants people to make a donation he says as much........ and so i have ive made one because i now some what feel this site is under constant attack from crazy people or maybe something else...

Ive come to the conclusion that this site needs help to survive this onslaught of daily denying God

To deny that we recieve our salvation on judgement day and we will be judged for are good works and bad works and deny the works we must do to let Jesus know we are truly one of his,,,, as instructed by Jesus is total denyal in my book,,,,

if ya want to label denying as severe then i would call this severe..God blesses those who bless and i think its a blessing ive donated to cc and not a curse... but no doubt i will be cursed again...

He who cusses is not Of God.
Jimbob my friend.

I have to respectfully disagree with you (shame we can't discuss it over a pint and pork scratchings)

You say this site needs help to survive the onslaught of daily denying God, then you say those denying God based on your understanding of salvation and if people disagree with you then say (or it comes accross this way) they are denying Jesus.

This as we can all see is reversed when it comes to what salvation is. Those who disagree say you are denying Jesus.

As an English fella I'm sure you have heard the saying

"You say potatoe I say potato let's call the whole thing off"

On either side of the fence no one is denying Jesus, they are posting what they understand what salvation is all about and it works in us.

The focus actually is on Jesus and that he is the way of salvation.

Truth is until Christ returns we will not know who is right and who is wrong. Let's be honest one side is right and the other is wrong. One day we will find out.

Will the wrong ones be cast away? I don't think so. God sees the heart.

Jesus is our curse

The death of Christ on the cross was a death of curse: "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree" (Galatians 3:13). The "curse" is alienation from God. This is apparent from the words which Christ will yet speak to those that shall stand on His left hand in the day of His power - "Depart from me, you cursed," He will say (Matthew 25:41). The curse is exile from the presence and glory of God.

To me anyone who genuinely seeks Jesus and wants to be like Jesus then no one can curse them.
However disagreements are not cursing another person. It's just a disagreement, nothing more nothing less.

I actually thank God that you have donated or considering to this site and I don't think your saying you have to make yourself look good. You are just expressing something that you feel that God has laid on your heart to do and just relaying this is how God works in you.

To be honest I have no compunction to donate here (sorry mods) even though I know it's a valuable on-line resource.

If you want my honest opinion the biggest threat to forums/websites like this is not denying Jesus.

To me it is US. We are Jesus followers.

Its how we relate to each other, walk with each other, talk with each other.

There will be people who are on this site who are seeking, looking at what Christianity is all about.

When Jesus summed up 10 commandments in his two commandments what was the main focus.

Love

Luke 10:27

So he answered and said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

Galatians 5:14-15
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!

The absence of love leads to what?
Biting and devouring each other.

No building each other up, just going at each other, tearing each other apart. Being sassy, calling each other names, proving I'm right your wrong.

The biggest threat is absence is love.

John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I encourage us ALL to walk in love with each other so that all will see that we are disciples of Jesus.

Sorry for the long post.

Just so you know I love you all and if ever I walk in way that doesn't show it let me know.
But of course in love.

Your brother in Christ

Bill.

Hey followjesus,

Actually decrees WERE revocable. Which is why I'm tired of explaining this when some mention how they are sealed in the Holy Spirit.

A king could have sent out a decree creating a new law or even something less important.

IF HE CHANGED HIS MIND,

He would send out a new decree cancelling the first one.

Please find out about this and don't take my word for it.

The word of God is not revocable, i am agreeing with you though, just being elected, doesnt mean we cant be deceived. God when He speaks cant say, " nevermind" thats why His words have to be fulfilled. from the start if it wasnt irrevocable what He said to adam....why not just say nevermind you can stil live? we can reject His word, but every word will be fulfilled because its impossible for God to Lie. if He says one thing, it has to be fulfilled. another reason the law wasnt just erased, but rather fulfilled in Christ. Jesus died because Gods word must be fulfilled.

check our esther and also herod. when He promised anything to His daughter in law and she wanted Johns head on a platter, He was bound though He feared doing it, same with xerxes and exther she Got Him to make promises about her people Knowing the Kingd word is not revocable. is what im saying Jesus the King spoke His decrees already, those things do not ever change will remain from yesterday Now and always. if we then go see a scripture from paul saying " grace" it soeant change the Kings Word.

Neither does your interpretation make it right my friend, to you it does and of course it does

You are confident in your doctrines as are others.

The point of my post was to say "It's not ok coz that's how we speak to each other" and I focused in on that with the absence of love towards each other.

No one on this forum has a right to say who is going to hell and who is not saved. That's up to God and his perfect judgement.

I say that only to the extent that it is not contrary to placing a genuine saving faith in Jesus.

Only person's word I never question is Jesus.
Jesus word matthew 6:14-15 "For IF YE forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father WILL ALSO forgive you: 15But IF YE forgive not men their trespasses, NEITHER WILL your Father forgive your trespasses."

Jesus word matt:7:2 "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."

Jesus word ....Matt. 7:21"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Jesus word Matt 7:24-27 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."

Matt 16:24-27Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. "

Luke 11:28 "But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it."

Jesus word about the holy spirit john 14:15-17 "If ye love me, keep my commandments.16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."

Luke 9:26 "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels."

Jesus said consistantly its about His word, following Him, learning from Him. there is no reason for any of us to question His word. if what Jesus says sounds like its not right, its because our belief is not right and we need to change and conform our belief to What He said. Jesus very clearly taught what to do and how to Live. He taught the consequences for refusal of His word, and reward for accepting and keeping His word. He taught that those who persevere in His word would be saved.

As far as I remember the logic, a decree could never be cancelled, only
another decree could be issued on a different subject so balanced it.

Esther was the example of this. The King made a decree on one particular
day the enemies of the Israelites were allowed to attack the Israelites so
the King made a decree that they were allowed to defend themselves and
so they overcame their enemies and the Kings decrees stayed true.

Hi Fran,

I really understand your heart. I thought the same thing when I was younger in the Lord. I would never have been able to explain anything, much less what happens to those who don't know about Jesus and haven't heard the Gospel. And actually the scripture you posted is what answered my questions and gave me peace to trust God. And also some wise older believers. :)

Romans 1:16-25

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “ But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

When we read in context, it makes more sense. :)

God gave mankind the knowledge that He's God in our inner man and we see God in His creation. God says man is without excuse. There are many who haven't heard of Jesus and God will reveal Himself to them. If a man is truly seeking, he will find God. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

We can trust God and leave those in his hands because He says we will know Him. We all, when we die will have had a visitation from God. If I had said no to His calling, I would end up in hell, but I would have had a visitation, meaning that God reveals who He is to all who want to know Him.

Before I knew the Lord, I would say things like, "there must be a God." And that's from a genuine heathen. :) As I look back, I see times where God was revealing Himself to me. I believe He does that with everyone.

Who can look up at the sky with it's beautiful lights shining down upon us and who can look at the sunset and not see God. Who can see all the color of flowers and birds, trees and shrubs and the ocean and the fish and the mountains and I could go on and on, but I can trust that in the end, God is a just God and when mankind goes before the Lord without knowing Jesus, He will tell them they did know Him, but they rejected Him.

God is faithful and if you're seeking the one and only God of the universe, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, He will introduce you to Jesus. The man of faith will find the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.

When? Jesus told us to do many things.
Jesus told us to do many things?
Some here say all we have to do is have faith.

Are we required to do all those many thngs Jesus told us to do or not?

Once we're saved, and we become disciples of Jesus, are we supposed to obey all those things he said to do?
(throught the entire 3 plus years of His ministry)
