So, saying WoF is heresy is a lie? Thought that's where you were coming from. You've been asked by the OP to present your view and defend it, so do it.
He has nothing to offer other than deflection, ridicule and misapplied Scripture. These are the basis of his religion mixed with some Bible abracadabra and crossing of the fingers.

So I just caught up to this part of the thread. Sorry I am not here all the time. Between gardening and Greek, I also have this real life, like practicing in the worship team, my family and my private devotional time, and I just can't be on-line all the time.

It seems like the pms have been flying fast and furious as all the Word Faith and hypergrace people come out of their stupors, to defend their cult on this thread!

Now hypergrace is banned, so let's not get into that, specifically Joanie Marie and her disgusting Joseph Prince devotionals. But, I would be delighted to discuss the OP, and the Bible regarding Word Faith.

Instead, Word Faith people are just here being slanderous and full of malice. At this point, even a few bible verses out of context would be better than all these bitter and angry Word Faith people sharing opinions and hearsay, like some woman who died because she was bitter about an abusive husband. Say what? Is that really the kind of shallow and poor examples Joseph Prince preaches about all the time! Woe is me!

So, I am going to ask kindly one more time, if you have not read the OP, then please read it and comment on it. There is no point in calling it "rot" point out the things you do not think are Biblical. Use context, please. I can make God save all the demons, if I pull things out of context, but that is not Scriptural either.

So - The OP - please answer the Scriptures I have posted, in context, and say why what I have posted is wrong. If you cannot do that, then go start your own post of opinions and half truths, ok?
no one has to answer the scriptures you posted Angela. no one

you know, as I said I am not WOF and in fact you even liked some of my posts. I don't watch J Prince either. he is somewhat over the top for my taste

I sometimes watch Joyce Meyer and in fact just the other day I watched her and honestly, what she had to say was especially something good for me to hear

I am not ignorant of the Bible.

you seem to bully people when you get angry and you make things very personal. I think both sides are at an impasse and you both need to stop.

I mean if I am that bothered by someone I just put them on ignore until I feel I'm over it. cause the emotions that rise up are my own and that is what people need to take ownership of.

J Prince goes about his business and here sits a bunch of people snapping and snarling at each other like hyenas

I don't know. I find ignore works quite well. ever notice how some people you have on ignore will bait you and bait you?

humor works for me but this nastiness is not working for you. at all

I'm telling you this for your own good. I don't agree with WOF either and I seldom watch the tv preachers. I have not heard Joyce Meyers say anything I disagree with in the year or so I have watched her on and off. Even my husband, who is staunchly conservative says she is a good motivational speaker. Neither of us would consider her a Bible scholar but she has life lessons and applies what she has learned and it makes good sense.

I don't care for the miracle a minute, a vision every second minute and angels floating about the heads and people are deceived. But when I was in that place, you don't really listen if someone comes along calling everyone devils and deceived

you might just toss this, but I hope you just kind of take stock and calm down

Perhaps, and I can still hardly walk due to my back being out. I'm probably wrong here due to inability and frustration.
All good man. He was just saying for us not to get emotionally worked up in our defense and stay sound and firm. If I'm wrong, I'll let him correct me.

And, that's right you were moving some furniture last we talked I think. Hope you get to feeling better soon, I know how that is.

You're probably correct here. I was good a couple days, and it has regressed. And we just sold our house, I have many jobs to contract, and a house to build for us, and can barely walk when we have to move. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, dearest God show us the humor in this!

One man aboard a passenger ship standing in line waiting to disembark, said "I suffered locked in my cabin just eating cheese, crackers and water theses 2.5 weeks we were out at sea. HA! think of all the money I saved on the resturant bills you guys had to pay!!!

The entire crowd laughed hilariously.

One passenger let him in on the joke he told on himself.

" My dear misguided man. The wonderful buffet was included in the price of your ticket!!!"
Really !
Are you saying our Christian walk is like life on a cruise line? So we are to just enjoy the all you can eat buffet?
Our lord washed the feet of his disciples ! He fed the hungry. (Quite a different picture than you paint in your very little story ) He died for us ! The most Holy man ever to walk did so much for us .
,and we are to take advantage of it all like a all you can eat buffet? We are called to be Christ like in our mind and behavior. Not some passenger on a cruise line taking in all of the goodies . Your example shows the callous ,indifference the WOF doctrine can bring about. Instead of consoling a brother that went without they all laugh . Pathetic bro real disappointing.

Of course it is all of that. This is from one who ridicules knowledge and quotes others who ridicule others who have Biblical knowledge.

There is little to respect from those who do these things. Look at what Scripture says about obtaining and growing in knowledge, and Scripture has much to say about this. Then look at those of his ilk who malign and ridicule this divine truth and deride those who have and hold to Bible knowledge and truth.

Yet they want others to listen to their "knowledge."

Is this enough evidence to convince us they are astray, or do we need more proof of their error?

I often just weep when I take the time to think of what God has done for us . I or we deserve nothing. Still He came to save us from ourselves. To even desire anything beyond that is just reprehensible. The gift we have been given is sufficient . Anything beyond that should never be asked for . We have been given the most awesome gift from a most Holy God .

I got hurt by Word Faith, when I was terribly ill with excruciatingly painful Rheumatoid Arthritis (and no diagnosis), and my Word Faith friends started blaming me because I wasn't healed, and had no faith. It wounded me so deeply, and drove me away from God for 2 long years. That was because I did not know what they were saying was a complete fabrication. Victim mentality much???

Concerning the lady that was bitter... have you not read what Jesus said about un-forgiveness??? If you had, you'd understand that not forgiving is bitterness and it opens the door to the tormentors (devils) whether one is a Christian or not (see Gal 6:7,8)

Matthew 18:23-35

Therefore the Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who wanted to reconcile accounts with his servants. When he had begun to reconcile, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But because he couldn’t pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, with his wife, his children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

The servant therefore fell down and kneeled before him, saying, ‘Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all!’ The lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. "But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him one hundred denarii, and he grabbed him, and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’

"So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will repay you!’ He would not, but went and cast him into prison, until he should pay back that which was due. So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingly sorry, and came and told to their lord all that was done.

Then his lord called him in, and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt, because you begged me. Shouldn’t you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?’ His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due to him.
So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you don’t each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds

I got hurt by Word Faith
You might want to jump on that forgiveness thing and forgive those that you believe hurt you whether real or imagined.

You speak as one that is having issues with tormentors cause you have refused to forgive others.

Sometimes ya just gotta let things go and ya gotta let others have their point of view even if... gasp... they disagree with you!

I will continue to be outraged and to fight this evil doctrine at every turn
And reject some of the promises of God in the process... bitterness and un-forgiveness breads blindness because it's walking after the flesh no matter how good the intentions are.

I spent 60 pages trying to discuss the Bible, and all I got was mud slinging from a few people
Cause some of what you were saying was an attack against God's promises written in His Word.... that's of the devil and is not of God.

Sure all of us say some strong things to one another as we express out views... but the immature ones get offended because they have not learned how to keep the accuser of the brethren out of their thought life as the devil takes them captive at his will because they oppose themselves (2 Timothy 2:24-26) not being doers of the Word but hearers only deceiving themselves (James 1:22)

Bottom line is none of us can afford to get in to un-forgivness... if someone says something you don't like or agree with, say yer piece and then let it go! Learn ho to forgive and move on.

[FONT=&quot]When I think of posting on CC about healing I especially consider those who are not healed. I've thought how my posts of assurance that we can indeed be healed because of the promises of the Bible will effect them. I'm hoping it will be for the positive and give hope where there is none. Just as His promises do for me. Just as getting on the road to any type of healing or learning is at times instant and at times progressive even by the inch as the devil will always try to sway us not to believe by getting our eyes off of the promises and onto our situations.

I know that my good intentions will not be always seen by some here but this is a forum and I'm not in your house taking care of you and talking to you. I do however go visit my dear friend in her house as she is steadily going down as cancer is working on her. She is not able to see past her dizziness and fear.

She holds on to the securities of life that are her daughters visits and keeping her house in order. Even in her chair placement she is hanging onto the least bit of power and security she has. I know this is normal for those who are ill and for those who have not heard there is healing available in Christ. This is also normal for a Christian who has not heard about healing or has heard and doesn't believe in that interpretation because too many people have been sick and died all around them in their lives.

I also think this topic is not to be argued about nor should we do the sword fighting of my verse is bigger than your verse.

Anyone who is offended at people who believe in healing and those who have it needs to step back. So also should those who are offended at others who do not believe in healing and don't have it. Same as speaking in tongues. We must hold to the promises of the Bible and see the major need to do so when horrors come into our lives.

Horrors will come and the need for hope and faith should be even more given testimony to. This world will throw it's horrors at us every day. We could look at our lives as if we are on the edge of a cliff with our tip toes holding on as the rest of our bodies are thinking of making supper tonight. That is our reality as humans.
We live in a world of death and destruction yet time moves on and although we are tortured in our minds when we consider our predicament ., the rest of the world and reality still goes on around us.

But we do have the One Person who keeps us in and through it all. Jesus promises to take our days and make them days for Him. I don't know how He does it but His Holy Spirit keeps hanging onto me solely because I'm one of the beloved. Because of Jesus. It's not for me to think about my cliff side realities. What I'm to do is look to Jesus and depend on the Holy Spirit to keep me steady.

Even and especially during the horrors seen in life. Holding on to what He has promised is how to get through it all. That is the real battle in all this so we do not lose hope in His love for us and His watch care over us. To keep reading His Word and reading His healing promises making them a part of our minds then it gets into our hearts. That is what changes us and brings the healing.

To keep reliving over and over why a person is not healed and never will be using verses out of context is not something I will willingly do because that is what will shut off any growing faith IN His love and promises. Angela is free to share why she believes there is no healing in the atonement but I am free to give testimony on the other side. And may the Lord bless all of us in our growing.

The Perfect Medicine to Heal a Heart of Negativity
TRACIE MILES

[/TD]
[/TR]
[/TABLE]
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)

We sat in an empty waiting room for hours, anxious for an update on my sister’s surgery. When the doctor finally entered the room, the news wasn’t good.

He explained how her medical situation was worse than expected, and the surgery more extensive than originally thought. He then proceeded to explain a difficult, lengthy recovery and how her life would be changed forever.

You could’ve heard a pin drop under the weight of silence and sorrow. As the doctor walked away, my family and I just sat there -- our eyes filled with tears, and our hearts filled with worry.

But the silence came to an abrupt halt when another group entered the room with lots of talking and chaos. I tried to tune them out, immersed in my negative feelings ... until I heard the name of Jesus spoken several times. In that moment, when fear and anxiety hung heavy in the air, the mention of Jesus’ name seemed like music to my ears.

As I lifted my head to see who had spoken His name, I saw a beautiful elderly woman with snow-white hair across the room. She was sitting in a wheelchair praying aloud for her husband. Despite the fact that she, too, was in this hospital waiting room, waiting to receive uncertain news about a loved one, she glowed with optimism and had a spirit of encouragement. Joy and positivity dripped from each of her words.

She eventually looked up and noticed me staring at her. I quickly averted my eyes, hoping to avoid any interaction. But to my dismay, she immediately hollered across the room, "Hey, honey! How are you?” I had no choice but to acknowledge her and manage a pitiful smile. “I’m fine, thank you.” I hoped that would be the end of our conversation, but she had other plans.

Before I knew it, she’d rolled her wheelchair across the room and stopped right at my feet. I tried to gather what was left of my personal space by sliding my chair back, but it was already against the wall. I was stuck.

She leaned in and began telling me all about her husband in surgery, but I wasn’t in the mood for small talk. Honestly, these details about someone I didn’t know felt kind of bothersome, but soon, something strange began to happen -- her joy and optimism began to feel contagious.

Her smile stretched ear to ear while happiness exuded from her face. She shared what a wonderful man her husband was. I found myself hanging on her every word, secretly wishing I could write down each hopeful, uplifting comment and holy promise she spoke. Her faith-inspired, cheery disposition was like a soothing balm pouring out of her heart right into the empty spaces of mine.

But then, she said something that took my breath away. Something I will never, ever forget as long as I live.

“Honey, I hope God blesses your sister. And if He can only save one person today, I hope it is her. My husband is 85 years old and has lived a long and fruitful life."

Huge tears began to slide down my face. How could she even consider the thought of putting a total stranger's life ahead of the life of her precious husband? And without even hesitating? I was stunned and speechless.

She then took my hands, wrapped her cold, thin, frail fingers around mine and began to pray out loud for my sister. Suddenly, it felt as if we were the only two people in the waiting room, and we had an audience of only One. Tears dripped from my eyes onto my lap as she prayed. After she said amen I thanked her and prayed for her husband in return. Then, she disappeared as quickly as she had appeared.

In today’s key verse, Solomon assures us a cheerful heart is good medicine for the soul, the mind and the body. Positive thoughts lead to a positive outlook which leads to a positive heart and a positive life. Negative thoughts lead to a broken spirit which impacts our minds, emotions and our lives.

You see, negativity holds the power to drain our strength and crush our spirits like dried up bones. Optimism has the power to do just the opposite ... positive thinking leads to positive living.

This amazing woman whose name I’ll never know was living proof of the value tucked into Solomon’s wisdom. She intentionally filled her heart with joy in Christ, instead of sadness in circumstances. This equipped her to have cheerful thoughts, a positive outlook and an unsinkable faith, no matter what.

That day, I walked out of the hospital with a changed heart and a more cheerful spirit. I’d seen a glimpse of Jesus in the face of a frail woman. Her optimism and joy kept her heart cheerful and brought healing to the heavy hearts of others. Including mine.

Lord, help me have the strength to choose to be cheerful and full of joy, despite negative circumstances. Heal my heart and outlook with Your joy, and use me as a cheerful light in this world filled with negativity. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TRUTH FOR TODAY:

Our Father is even more wanting for His children to be well then we are. Would we want our own children to be sick to teach them something? Would we put a sickness on our own children? No, a thousand times No.

Would we withhold help from our children to "teach" them something? Of course not. We would be thrown in jail for the things that we say God does to us.

Our Father loves us more then our mere human love does but He operates from different perspectives and principals then we do on this earth.

.........healing is definitely in the true gospel message.....as can be seen when Paul preached the gospel in Lystra. in Acts 14.

Acts 14:7-10 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] and there
they continued to preach the gospel.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]
At Lystra a man was sitting who had no strength in his feet, lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked.

[SUP]9 [/SUP] This man was listening to Paul as he spoke, who, when he had fixed his gaze on him and
had seen that he had faith to be made well,

[SUP]10 [/SUP]
said with a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet." And he leaped up and began to walk.

Paul was preaching the GOSPEL.... the man lame was listening to Paul and then he had faith to be made whole...
where did this man get faith to be made whole in his body?

Romans 10:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

The man that was lame from birth heard in the preaching of the gospel of the grace of Christ that he could be made whole. He believed...Paul saw it in him and encouraged him to act on his faith.

Healing is a part of the gospel of the grace of Christ as the forgiveness of sins is.

Jesus even said concerning a lame man put before Him - "Which is easier to say. Your sins are forgiven or get up and walk?"

Jesus called healing the "children's bread". Jesus is the bread of life. Even in the Old Covenant God said that none of these diseases will come if you do the law of Moses. We have a better covenant based upon better promises.

If others have a different opinion on healing in Christ - they are allowed to have it We don't have to insult each other because of a different opinion.

This principle still works in this area and in other areas as well.

Romans 14:22 (NASB)
[SUP]22 [/SUP] The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

You have obviously forgotten the reason why I am angry at Word Faith, and the people who propagate it.

1. It is Biblically incorrect. If people want to post on this thread, which I created to discuss what the Bible says about this doctrine, then yes, they are obligated to defend their position, or take their misinformation and opinions elsewhere.

2. It is a hurtful, condemning and judgmental false doctrine.

When I started this thread last year, there was a parallel thread with people yelling at each other and saying they were right, so I specifically asked that this thread could actually discuss the Bible. I have pleaded with people to take their opinions elsewhere, which is frustrating the purpose and the point of this thread, as you well know.

I got hurt by Word Faith, when I was terribly ill with excruciatingly painful Rheumatoid Arthritis (and no diagnosis), and my Word Faith friends started blaming me because I wasn't healed, and had no faith. well not at all. I have my own axe to grind and believe me, it's a huge one and I really have to leave it in God's hands or be bitter and not have peace. nothing we can do about because our judgement is not fair. God weighs everything, but I am sensitive to your reasons.

I thoroughly agree with you but when I get that angry, man, I just gotta stop! and I was kind of seeing you in that place and stress is an awful thing. I get the anger.

you aren't going to get WOF'ers to discuss the Bible because they can't. what they can do, is string verses together that they say supports their claims (even though they don't)

The Bible becomes a personal handbook and God becomes their personal God to the point where correction is about impossible. I lived with it for years in the form of a family member who literally destroyed my relationship with others. Lied and tore me apart and it hurt so bad, that people I loved and trusted, could do that when they knew me. Accused of all kinds of things that were not true.

The verse that stuck in my mind was How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Psalm 13:2

I would pray and say, God, why do I have to have sorrow in my heart every day. They literally had become my enemies and it was all out of my hands. Why? Because I tried to point out the error and the lies and refusal to see that what they were saying was not true and would never come to pass.

Years later, nothing they said came to pass and everything I said has come to pass. Am I happy about it? Not at all. I have lost my family. Thankfully, God gave me a sane, intelligent and loving husband around the time it all started. He was accused of all kinds of nonsense as well. My innocent father had always been my mother's scapegoat and when he became incapacitated, I was the chosen one to bear her guilt and deceit.

you can't make sense with these people. you will always be the one who 'has no faith' or the one who needs to 'come back to Jesus' or the one whose name gets passed around to other Christians with the sticker of 'needs prayer. away from God...backslider and so on' ALL lies that you can't do anything about it. the more you say you are innocent, the more guilty you sound. the devil knows his job

so, this is more than I ever said about it. WOF is a disgusting and very evil doctrine and a doctrine of demons.

I don't hate people involved in it but I don't figure I can change their minds either.

I have said plenty in my anger and it never changed a thing. It is our OWN hearts we end up having to guard

anyway, I'm going to be offline for awhile, but I agree with you, but watch the anger for your own sake

I get it

I will say this about the healing nonsense.

I believe God does heal but mostly He does not. I can think of reasons why that is so, but what is almost unbelievable, is, in spite of the fact that most healings are fake and never happened, like at Lakeland with the apostate Todd Bentley, they just continue on and keep saying the same stupid things.

and Benny Hinn, prophecy after prophecy that never came true. we know they never came true because that man has a habit of dating the supposed fulfillment. do people stop and ponder it? well hardly except for a few. I knew someone who was married to a woman whose mother was deeply involved with Hinn and knew Hinn personally. people would not believe it's all fake but it is

He wanted to expose Hinn and he was told if shut up, he would be offered a big position in the ministry. he did not shut up and I don't know whatever happened but Hinn has pretty much been exposed for the liar and charlatan he is

like, wake up already people!

Todd said 30 people were raised from the dead and that was an utter lie and yet people just keep running after him

May God be merciful to these itching ears

I understand the emotional appeals that are made and all the verses thrown up and none of it will straighten out the mess

I could say I know more than what I will say (unless it is face to face and someone wanting and honestly desiring help to get out) but who will listen other than those who already know what I say is true

Well..I'm so happy! I found the ignore button! Now I can ignore people who slam those who disagree with them. I'm not talking about people who disagree with me but those self proclaimed 'Experts' who claim that evey verse you share is taken out of context because it stands in the way of their own views of what the Word says. I'm talking about people who take scriptures and don't misinterpret them, but simply throw them out. That will reduce some stress

No one knows all there is to know about a subject nor does anyone prophesy 100% of the time either.

1 Corinthians 13:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

1 Corinthians 13:12-13 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

[SUP]13 [/SUP] But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

That is a great idea. That doesn't mean you can't post the scriptures and the beliefs you have - just don't interact with them because it just gets messy and causes strife and division and there is no real environment to actually discuss the scriptures without being insulted.

It is ok to agree to disagree on things too but it can be done in a respectful way.

Once people start with the insults and de-meaning of others - it's time to stop associating with them as no good can come from that sort of behavior. They will try to "lord it over your faith" and publicly insult you if you have a different view then they or their group does.

They will use anything they can to insult your view if it is different then theirs - from saying you will not accept "sound doctrine" which is their interpretation of things obviously to de-meaning and being condescending because you don't have "their education" or went to the bible school or seminary that they did...etc.

It is just foul behavior and it is best just to ignore them and avoid them like Paul says in Romans 16:17
