Now I'm dishonest.
I hate being called names.
Especially of characteristics which do not explain me.
what do you call it when someone claims you are not doing something you have done?

You claimed I did not tell you what belief is, I have told you numerous times.

So what is that?

I hate being told I have not done something I have, or have done something I have not.

Yes Bill. But I've been told so many times. This is sooooo judegmental.
We're supposed to love each other.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, that you love one another.
IF ONLY WE COULD SHOW SOME LOVE.

And I've been told I'm not walking with Jesus
And I've been told I don't understand about salvation
and so much more stuff... I don't want to think about it.

I'm no longer contributing anything here and am only getting slammed.
So I might as well leave.

I might be back in a few days. We'll see.

Fran,

You tell people they do not understand Jesus, You told me that earlier today)

Now your going to complain when people say the same to you?

Do you understand what that is?

In post no. 14101 Meggido said that NEITHER fear NOR OBEDIENCE of the Law will save us.

IOW, It is not necessary that we obey the Laws of God.

You will be hearing strange things on this thread.
No I said fear and obedience are not required for salvation...if you are going to quote me, quote me right or do not at all...

As for burning lights he is just another lawyer, who I will not be engaging.

It seems some folks don't understand what is needed to BE Saved and adopted by God as His child and what GOD teaches us and leads us to become AFTER He saves us and we are born again.

Did Abel not push his works?
Why not?
Explain please.

Did he not have to shepherd and raise those sheep?
Is it not difficult work?
I'd say it is more difficult to raise a lamb than to raise a vegetable.

You keep saying that Caine offered his labor.
Explain the difference between Abel's sacrifice and Caine's sacrifice.

Thanks.
Hebrews 11...go study it....ONE was of FAITH and BLOOD.....imagine that picture.......and the other was the works of one's hand<---NOT of faith......Just like works for salvation.....

GRACE by FAITH or WORKS which negates GRACE and FAITH

It cannot be both....in your case you choose works.....and if WORKS it is not of grace....as simple as.....!

Could we stop all the talking.

IS IT NECESSARY TO KEEP THE LAW OR NOT.

that's a yes or no answer.
Thanks.
Nobody can keep the law....and that is what you are missing...the law DEEMS GUILT.....you must keep the law 24/7/365 or your guilty.....exactly why salvation is by faith and grace....NO MAN except JESUS can or could keep the law.......

Let me ask you this. Something I usually do not do, but just for discussion's sake...

Man no. 1 follows the commandments because he loves God.

Man no. 2 follows the commandments because he fears God.

They both know God.
They both know Jesus.
They both do their best.

WHO IS SAVED?
Neither if they both make it an addition to faith for salvation.......

Galatians 1 and 3<---FAITH PLUS WORKS of the LAW for salvation = false gospel, no power, double cursed and makes one a fool and bewitched....

He is another working for, I hardly ever sin, and am better than most salvation earner.....a common trait for the workers for...Peter thinks the cross is not enough and the imputed righteousness of Christ is a neat little trick that does not work.....seems they all have this attitude in some form or fashion...JESUS and FAITH is not enough, they must help God....

Did I just read Matt say that Jesus blood couldn't wash away certain sins?

This sounds a whole lot like you have to bath and save yourself because Jesus blood isn't able to do it for you...which is false.

God says to die to self. That is different than telling people they have to wash themselves clean.

Dying takes no effort on our part...it's admitting we are already dead and cut away the flesh to reveal the born again person God has made us to be.

Our past actions don't define us. Our sins don't tell us who we are. God does and we learn to overcome and walk away from the things of,this world towards His ways and His purpose for our lives.

If we stand still paralysed because someone tells us that we have to be sinless before we can be saved...we lose focus on God and focus on self effort and what we lack.

.instead we should focus on Christ and what He has already done and what He calls us to do. If we lack anything let us have faith God will provide and focus on walking with Him in love and humility.

It's unfortunate for some here that the Church fathers do not agree wth you.
Who cares what someone else believes and espouses....you sure put a lot of stock in what MEN believed over what it actually states....just saying....

The fear of the Lord is the begin of wisdom and knowledge. Jesus said, "not everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, but they that do the will of my father." Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. . Mat. 7:21
AMEN...and the will of the Father is to believe on JESUS...(HIM WHOM WAS SENT)

You are correct.
Ephesians 2:8
We are saved by grace through faith.
That is salvation.

The question is:

Are we required to keep the Laws of God AFTER salvation?
It would seem that some ARE offended.

Psalm 119:165
When we are hid in Christ, we keep the commandments and laws of God perfectly. It is not possible to keep the commandments and laws of God in our own strength and righteousness. Those that try are severed from Christ. Christ fulfilled the law and the prophets and through Him we do the same; there is no other way. Jesus said "I am the Way..." We are the righteousness of Christ. We identify with Him in His death by baptism and we are raise from the death of the old man to be a new creature in Christ.

I have always been confused concerning Cain & Abel
No need t be confused....

Abel offered BLOOD which points to the Messiah and promise in Genesis 3:15...his was of FAITH Hebrews 11

Cain offered his own works, no blood and NO FAITH.....and on top of that the ground was cursed......which devalued the offering and in so doing devalued the offering of Christ in picture by Cain's offering

Amen, That is correct, but keep in mind the devils believe in God (Jesus) too. Our belief must be coupled with repentance and obedience. God is not mocked whatever a man sows so shall he reap. We must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. Please note Scripture doesn't say work for it.

Don't worry about it.

When the bible is not clear, we're not to dwell on it.

Abel offered a sacrifice that was acceptable. Maybe because it was an animal -- like for sacrifices.

Cain also offered a sacrifice (he gave up some of his food for the year) but it was not acceptable. Maybe because it didn't have blood in it. The life is in the blood.

that's all we know. The rest is conjecture.
Except for the fact that HEBREWS tells us exactly why..ONE was by FAITH (ABEL) IF it is not of faith it is SIN.....end of story!
