It's entertaining, this pitting Scripture against clear NT doctrine concerning women's role. "Hey, wait, Deborah!" "Hey, wait, there was a deaconess (not really) in Acts!"
Yes, hey wait, Deborah. The claim was [see below] NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT SAY GOD CHOSE A WOMAN TO PROPHESY.

And it's a fallacy.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say God chose a woman to prophesy or teach. Nowhere in the Bible does it say our Lord Jesus chose a woman to prophesy or teach. The one place in the Bible where a woman tried to assume authority, she was turned into a leper (Num. 12:10). In the Bible, leprosy is not considered a disease or illness. It is called being unclean.

My post wasn't about that issue. I thought this was about women pastors, seems to be the gist of the OP.

GOD always finds ways to confound the legalists. Ruth from Moab was the great grandmother of King David and ancestor of the messiah. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever: Deuteronomy 23:3

So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest. Ruth 1:22

So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son. Ruth 4:13

And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David. Ruth 4:21-22

Miriam became a leper because she spoke against Moses marrying an Ethiopian woman.

Also, the daughters of Philip, the evangelist, were prophetess. (Acts 21:9)

So you accuse me of spreading false doctrine twice, and cannot substantiate it in either case. Instead, you dismiss me.

No further comment.
I did substantiate it with scripture at least twice, you're just unwilling to believe in it. And don't sit there and cry "slander", when you have been the one doing all the "slander" all along.

Here are a few of your comments. Slander plus blasphemy.

"More dogma from a King James onlyist" post 2112

Because, after all, 1 Speculations 3:8 declares plainly that "women may not be pastors". post 2113

Not only are you really missing out, it also explains your dogmatism on so many issues. post 2131

Anyone that defends this guy is not defending any wisdom in the Bible. He has declared the Bible to be dogmatic at least twice after being given it's scripture. Then he has the gall to cry out "slander" against someone else.

I also would like to include: Jesus baptizes with Holy Spirit and fire. Joel 2 says:

“And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

so yes. Jesus chooses women to also prophesy.

Yes, he uses women and sends men.
Dear sister, you are incorrect in your conclusions. Jesus said to Mary, "go to My brethren and say to them, 'I ascend to My Father and your Father...". If this isn't being "sent", then nobody was ever "sent".

Perhaps you need to rethink your categorical distinctions.

My above post is referring to the comments of Dino246. He is the one making the slanderous comments against the King James Bible and anyone posting it's scripture.

Let's see... you quoted some words with the comment accusing me of spreading heresy. You were incorrect, having attributed to me the statements of another contributor. Initially you apologized, but immediately accused me again. I challenged you to substantiate your accusation by quoting me in regard to the specific accusation. You haven't done so. Instead you come back with this silliness.

If you are really 93 and have been a Christian for nearly eight decades, why do you still act like a petulant teenager? It's high time you act your "claimed" age, demonstrate at least some fruit of the Spirit, and get some integrity.

The LORD never mentioned Mose's wife when He spoke to Aaron and Miriam, but that he was more than a prophet, because the LORD spoke to him mouth to mouth. I imagine only Miriam was afflicted because Aaron had some claim to being more like Moses from the time when Moses told the LORD he was slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

I didn't just quote "words". I gave you scripture straight from the Bible son, then you said it didn't seem to be true. I apologized for accusing you of "some" wrong words only because they were words of another. Then I made the correction and pointed at your mistaken words. I then, did give you the scripture pointing out your mistake again and again it wasn't good enough for you. Here is that scripture sent to you again, pointing out that obedience leads to understanding.

PSALMS 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

You, young man, are the one acting as a juvenile. By refusing to agree with the Bible, refusing to even read proof of claims in the scripture when it is handed to you and negatively referring to anyone believing in the King Jame Bible as somehow being "dogmatic", in your words. And here you are making more accusations of "slander" while putting forth more of your own "slanderous" language. All because you are upset that you were proven wrong, by the Bible itself. If anyone here needs to grow up and find some integrity, I suggest you look into the mirror and you will find that person. Obviously anyone questioning the truth of the BIBLE has no business accusing anyone else of lacking in integrity.

110 pages, and what has been accomplished? absolutely nothing.

Holy Spirit is the only One who can change our hearts/minds. I say we all leave it to Him to do the work.

agree to disagree and move on.

I agree with you. There is nothing to learn here, just a few members going back and forth accusing each other of things. Boring. No redeeming value. Complete waste of time.
