I mean, I agree with this, but I also don't agree with this. God isn't a matchmaker like everyone claims. This is such the cookie cutter answer that EVERYONE gives on these forums, but it just isn't exactly true. Paul said that he wishes EVERYONE would stay single, but if you cannot fight the desires of being with someone, then get married ASAP. That means don't even date... just go out and marry someone lol.

So... everyone saying God will provide... God DOES provide... but you have to work for it. God doesn't give lottery tickets. All you can do it go out and hope you find someone, and pray that God will open their hearts into being the right person for you. That's all you can do and expect.

I just feel its kind of dumb for everyone to say "God will provide everything" all the time, because the bible doesn't really support that. If a man wants to eat, the bible says to go out and work. The same thing goes with relationships. If you want one, go find one. If you want it to work, then you have to work VERY HARD into making it work. It isn't just sit on your hands and have God do it all, because that isn't how God works.
Well its interesting you bring that up, and true as well. All these TV evangelists and their prosperity gospel exasperates me. God will take care of you but he doesn't expect you to rely on him for absolutely everything. However, quite a few TV evangelists disagree with that, and claim that if you pray enough...God will take care of everything for you, especially your finances! In other words, if you pray enough and donate 59.95 a month to our program, you'll make ten times as much! Doesn't work that way...in fact the only people who make money off of that get rich quick scheme are the people who do the show. But I've gotten off track...

I tend not to post in topics like this simply because, I don't really have the time or energy to invest in a relationship. My job keeps me busy...REALLY busy.
The last girlfriend I had...she wouldn't let me be me. And I guess it just comes down to a matter of principles...am I willing to change just to woo a woman? Not in any real world.
Let me be clear, when you sign on for me you sign on for someone who has season tickets to pacer games, watches every cubs and bears game religiously if he can, falls asleep to sports center, does his 9 to 5 and his 5 to 1, and so forth...
But I mean finding a relationship just hasn't been a priority of mine, I'm not worried. It might seem like a bad thing to others, but if I'm happy then be happy for me :)

Anyways ladies, if your still interested, the phone lines are open.

LOL! This is one of the best posts I've ever read. This was also probably the truest thing I've read on here for a long time, and I completely agree with it.

I always look at those TV evangelists who sit there and beg for money, and yet they preach how God will provide all your finances for you. I then sit there and think... why is this person asking for money then? Shouldn't God just be creating a money tree in their back yard to "support" their programs? Lol! I've always thought that those evangelists on TV are wolves in sheep's clothing. Very few of their doctrines and sermons based on scripture. They read one verse and go on for hours in their "own words" about everything, instead of actually reading and preaching scripture. I get so mad that programs like that are allowed to be on TV for these "christian" television channels. 90% of everything those people say is based on raising money. Some of them even claim they are raising money for the poor, or for the starving kids in africa, blah blah. The problem is, for every dollar you give, they take 80 cents for their own pockets. Sure, 20 cents goes to the "starving children" in africa, but what does that do? You give 1000 dollars and 800 of it goes to the evangelist.

For instance, little do a lot of people know, benny hinn is a multi millionaire. He owns his own private jet. He buys the most expensive suits. He owns a mansion. His show is fake and is blasphemous compared to the way Jesus wants us to live. Was Jesus rich? Were His disciples rich? NO! What did Jesus tell to the rich man? He said sell everything you have, and follow me. The rich man wasn't willing to do that, and so he wasn't saved. Benny Hinn and those type of preaches go against everything Jesus stood for, and yet people are so gullible that they listen and follow his preaching. Quite a few members of CC follow him and preachers like him as well. I just find it completely insane for these people to follow them. It just shows how scripturally ignorant most "christians" are. Anyway... back on topic...

Props for being a bears and cubs fan! I'm not a pacers fan myself (DA BULLS), but I agree. The only TV I watch is sports really. I don't even bother with most of those "christian" tv shows, because they are never based on scripture for the most part. There ARE a few evangelists who don't ask for money, and I respect them for that. I've watched Shepard's Chapel a few times, and while I don't agree with everything that guy says, I agree with his viewpoints on begging for money. He plainly says "if you want to donate, we will give you audio cds/dvds etc of our program, but we don't ask for your money". I respect that. I respect the tv evangelists who don't beg for money, but instead let God provide for their ministry. If God supports the doctrine, then He WILL provide. He may not make the preacher rich, but He will keep the church afloat. If it is spiritually dead, then of course the church won't stay afloat! That's when those "preachers" (wolves in sheep's clothing) start begging for money nonstop.

Anyway, thanks for the post bro! It was a good one.

Heh, I'm glad my input entertained you.
And as far as the whole sports things go, I hear you man. I myself am into my three basic food groups. (basketball, football, baseball) :)

Wow, everyone's so pessimistic! You're all listing the qualities you want, and then say that you probably won't find anyone with those qualities. I mean, I fit ALL of these! And, I'm modest, too. :D

But, being serious now, that's what faith is all about. No one's perfect, so you can't hold out for that, but if you trust God with your desires, and seek His will for your life, then He will bring you together with someone whom you'll be great with. The best relationships I've seen are the ones which have God at the center, and in which both parties trusted God with their relationships, where they sought His will. I'm not saying that you shouldn't bother looking, but if you are trusting Him and seeking His will, and the traits you are seeking are within His will, then you should trust Him to provide. :)
eheh well personally i'm REALLY optmist I will find the person i'm looking for. Well I don't know if she will be exactly the way I'm pretending her to be. I have met girls with the qualities i'm looking for,so I believe they exist. Just a bit disappointed when I see this kind of girl following party boys or people only full of appearences but, I'm still optimistic I can do it, one thing I know: As DABEARS said God doesn't let things jump alone from the sky, but you need to conquer them and fight manytimes, but I know He is by my side because my life is completely submitted to Him.. And i'm also open to hear what GOD thinks is better for me, and nothing only what I believe it's right.. But anyway, i'm still Optimistic.. Well maybe this a quality I received from God

Well, sometimes He does. But, it's rare. However, and this is maybe where I was being misunderstood, I believe God provides opportunities. We do have free will, and we have the choice as to whether we seek His will. He provides opportunities, but we don't have to take them. And, often, we miss those opportunities. That is what I meant by seeking His will. If you are seeking His will, then He will open doors for you. His will for each of our lives is different, and some people are meant to remain single, so I'm not just talking about relationship opportunities, but life in general. Sometimes, He tells us to do something, and at other times He tells us to wait on Him. But, regardless, He provides opportunities as He sees fit. Now, if you're sitting idly, waiting for life to happen to you, instead of being out and about trying to accomplish God's will for your life, then you won't be where He needs you to be, and you'll miss those opportunities that He wants to provide. It requires you to be less focused on what you want for your life, and more focused on what God wants for your life. Most people I know, when they met their spouses, they weren't thinking about meeting someone to marry. Life was happening, and God brought them opportunities that they decided to take.

If that makes any sense, lol.

Hmm, well, everyone says they don't want someone who's a nag and a feminist. I'm not either of those, but so far no one seems interested. Maybe I should just be mean and nitpick at everyone. I haven't tried that yet. :D Let's see....nag about not putting things away, forgetting to put the toilet seat down, not taking the garbage out...what else can I be a nit-picker about? Oh, right, sports! "You ALWAYS watch sports, you NEVER spend time with meeee!". It's not my personality to nag, but I can work on it! Hehe. (I had to lighten things up a bit!)

Trust me you are ok the way you are, changing it's good but only when you change in a positive way. If you have this positive thing don't let it end, wait for the person who can appreciate it ;)

Thanks everyone so far... Let me take a stab a a real entry on the subject now that i have a few minutes.

I want a woman that is solid in her belief.
A woman that her smile reminds me why i goto work.
And a laugh that could buckle my knees.
Knows the WORD and relies on it.
That her voice could melt the rage from my heart.

That stuff sounds stupid but it is really what i am looking for.

Attractive to me is a also required.
Prefer she can do laundry cause i hate to.
Like good food cause i cook alot.
Is okay that i am not god and that i cant control everything.
A woman that knows that a smile can turn a day around.

Here's something i conjured up a few years ago...

She has to be a virgin for the right reasons, someone i can hold an intelligent conversation with, someone i enjoy being with, someone i wont have to worry about, someone who is wise and thankful for what she has, and blessed with a physique I'm attracted to, and is attracted to mine.

Im a bit reluctant to post this, but the way I found my partner was interesting and he certainly wasnt the picture I had in my mind. But we have a lot in common and our opposites definitely help, im controlling but he craves guidance, im dominant and he isnt, we like the same movies we make the same jokes he accepts me for my abnormalities and I accept him. Its probably the best fit I couldve asked for people always envy our relationship but it was simple for us

My greater concern isn't the zombie post, but that a man who claims to be a Christian appears to be in a homosexual relationship.
