Ok, how can I address this in a manner that is both clear and concise? How can I write this such that there is zero room for varying interpretations, where nothing is lost in translation? Impossible to do, right? Sure, because we are all different, with different mindsets and perceptions, influenced by so many different conditions.

I have always been intrigued with the varying interpretations in the word. I mean...assuming we are addressing only 100 bible believing individuals, all of them eager to learn, all humble and teachable, all filled with the Spirit, how is it that we, the body of His, just can't seem to find harmony amongst the scriptures?

Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 Corinthians 1:10 NASB

That verse seems pretty clear to me. It also makes sense that a God of Order who gave us the Word, the Example, and the Holy Spirit, would have very specific, non varying, truths.

I also think it sad how we, myself included, often treat one another, especially our Christian Brothers and Sisters. Again, it seems we are missing something in the translation. I see so many closed, hard hearted, suspicious, harsh and unloving people. I get that we should be wise as serpents, but that it should be balanced with gentle as doves. We are called to love one another in unity.

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;
1 Peter 3:8 NASB

I know that it sounds like I am attacking us or suggesting that we all get along, as if that were possible on this side of Heaven. I fall short pleanty and am so far from having arrived, so don't think I am pirched upon a soap box of self righteousness because I am as messed up as the rest of us. I just find it so bazaar as to why it is so hard for us, who are supposedly Spirit filled, to have such a hard time coming together in one accord. Can you imagine the influence we would have as ambassadors for Christ, appealing God's case, if we all extended love and mercy as we are called, all while standing firm in the truths of the word? How is that possible without humility and gentleness, and without our ability to come into agreement with reference to finding harmony amongst the scriptures?

I suppose the reason is simple. We have that glitch of humanity that gets in our way. We will always need Jesus, His perfect Love, Grace, and Understanding, to get us there.

For me, until I find harmony amongst all scriptures, I will continue to go back to the drawing board. The drawing board is Him. Until I always put forth and interact, react and respond, in a manner that pleases my Heavenly Father, I know that more growth is needed. I think it's fair and accurate to say that I will always need His help to find beautiful harmony in all my thoughts and actions, in mercy and justice, and in all the scriptures.

I take great comfort that as long as He is my leader, I'm headed in the right direction. My end goal, my mission statement is this...to have a mindset and heartset that always points others to my Leader.

Love you all because of Jesus. God Bless you and yours.

I've noticed that people commonly misspell "lose" as "loose" when they teach that they believe someone can "lose" their salvation. :giggle:

Right you are CharliRenee. When someone we think is stubbornly rejecting what we believe, many of us get upset and then the personal attacks start. Is there to be any unity before Christ's return? I think the time is ripe for God to back up His word with signs and wonders, just like in Jesus' time.

Will they believe the true path then? Jesus came to established religion based on the creator God showing signs and wonders. Proof He was from and and actually was God. They didn't believe Him. I shudder to think what many will do when these signs and wonders happen. Like in Jesus' day, they will prolly say it was of the devil. I hope I am grouped with the disciples and not the Pharisees on that day.

John 10:25, 26 "Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep."

I hate to be a wet blanket, but it has been raining a lot here so I will. Although I totally agree with your post, all the while I was listening to it I had this nagging recollection of what Jesus siad. I will paraphrase. "You say I have come to bring peace on earth, nay but I have come to divide you...etc. etc....you know the rest.

I believe I understand what He is teaching here, but I dar no share it in case I am dead wrong, or worse yet, just dead!

It is certain that Jesus Christ came to each one of us in the manner only He knew we needed, so no two people had the same experience in order to be lead to the Father and filled with His Holy Spirit, and this is not just good but wonderful, so we are one in the Spirit because of the HOly Spirit, but often I think that is where it stops for many and for the reasons necessary for this part of the end of what is called time.

Jesus Christ is our everything, amen..

But..but...but isn't that division to be between the world and His, not amongst His? Btw, I welcome opposing thought and agreeable ones too, hahaha. Good profitable discussion can be derived from both, right? So your wet blanket is still comfy to me, my brother friend. I appreciate your honesty, it was well delivered.

Mindboggling how folks can witness such signs and wonders and still not believe, that the creation would not believe in or lean on its creator is just so illogical to me. I am with you on this, Brother friend...

I hope I am grouped with the disciples and not the Pharisees on that day.

Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

If you g to these verses it becomes a little more clear continueing reading. Anywho, my mind keeps going to this……….I know Jesus deserves our love , and I do not deserve His, but, He loves me anyway----------God bless you….

PS......whenever I reaqd anything that sounds harsh or almost harsh, I remember it is all the Good News and say to myself I am not truly undrstanding as yet, and eventually it comes to me...Praise God, amen.

This is why the Pope exists I believe. (Or came to exist, among political reasons).

Because if you got one guy interpreting and calling the shots, you got unity. So you can be UNITED. Now that unity could be in truth OR error, but atleast its unity.

Now everyone is their own pope, and we all make it up as we go along, then some dare claim divine inspiration to their interpretation, which means their interpretation CANNOT be questioned and they are not willing to be proven wrong.
( I attend a pentecostal church, TRUST ME this is going rampant there.)

When I first was given to believe Jesus Christ I was drawn to a home meeting group of charismatic Pentacostals. It was wonderful, and they are all wonderful, but at times I became very annoyed with how many would come out and say, "Ths says the Lord" without actually having much to say afterwards. Often it was a preface to repeating memorized words from the Book...…..

Eventually I was kicfked out of the group for sharing that Jesus Christ was a Jew…………..ACtually when I mentioned it, I though all already knew this….anyway I said something very drmatic but true, and left bcause I did not want to upset the meetings. It is ok, there were many miracles in my way after that, and I was not incontrol of them, God wa.

I think there are some truths that should not sway and will always be bitter, especially if it addresses a sin we practice...like telling a homosexual that their chosen lifestyle is an abomination. So yes, i agree that harshness seems inevitable depending on the receiver, regardless the delivery, always hard to swallow. But still the truth is still the truth and sugaring the truth should never cause the truth's core to change. I still wonder, though, Jaumej(sorry, been addressing you as Jaumel for awhile, oops)... in those scriptures that contain more of His truth, isn't it addressing those who are not family in Christ, those not believing and standing in His truth, right? The opposition and lines necessary to draw are those of the world, versus those of us in His camp, right?

Ain't that the truth, Havosmies, even though we are told in scripture..

But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,
2 Peter 1:20 NASB

But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.

Yes Jack, I wish more of us would be content to say I have no answer for that particular scripture. When something seems out of place it could have been added or tampered with. To draw hard line doctrine, I will need two or three witnesses to confirm.

John 8:17
"In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true." :)

It seems Jesus is addressing people who believe and people who say they believe, ergo eventually they separate, like oil and water.

I cannot, or bettr, will not go into detail as to what I believe because I would not want to change the Word or pollute it with mere notions from my pea brain….. I will be going to bed soon.....it is a bit chilly, and coming up on 8 o'clodk, lol.

I have alwys belived anyone who loves Jesus Christ has Three Witnesses at all times, but that is pushing it, so I do not fall back on that. Perhaps a time will come whe we need to though, Good night from here my brother.
