Well, exactly. There was little point in Christ's death if we were expected to keep the Law. I think our sin can harm our faith, which is what our foundation is. That spells big danger. Our sin is a spiritual problem for us. Our sin also causes suffering for ourselves and others.
Yes, and we all sin, so we all have this issue.

So instead of worrying about god taking your salvation. I think we shoudl worry about serving and loving others. Which is the way God said we by prqc tice do not sin

We don't know if anyone obeys God or not...my guess would be that they do their best to do what God wants them to do. There are two ways of understanding OSAS.

One way is to believe in our Lord and to follow His commandments and believe that it's HE that is keeping a person and all is attributed to Him. Although this is not biblically correct and our actions do matter....it's an acceptable form of OSAS.

Another way to understand OSAS is to say that we can do whatever we want to and still be saved. I've have read a couple of posters on this very thread say this. On a different forum, one poster stated that we could blaspheme the Holy Spirit (curse Him) and still be saved because Jesus will protect us.
This is totally unacceptable.
I am about sick of you people who have no idea what people believe concerning things, comeing in here and trying to push your view of what they believe as if it is some form of truth.

Neither one of these two examples are correct. For once in your lives can you sit still for a minutem open your minds and your hearts. And try to really understand what it means???

I'll never understand the "works for salvation" crowd.

They're sinners, demanding that other sinners, stop sinning.
I would call them blind lawyers, who water down the law so they can some how be above the requirments of the law, while demanding others stop sinning..

I do not see active avoidance of sin as a work, but an empowerment from Jesus and a really great gift to be given because of how much sin ruins our lives NOW. We can't even see it, but the spirit (inner) man is tormented, bruised and wounded with the acts of our sin.
It depends on context.

If I am working at avoiding sin so I can earn salvation (or maitnian it) then I am trying to earn a wage by avoiding sin.

Thus, In this context. It is teaching salvation by works.

I don't believe God will take your salvation, but that can forfeit it.

By your sins choking your faith out
So God takes my salvation because I did not work hard enough to avoid sin, and my sin somehow got so deep. My faith in God was choked out??

Sorry bro. But this is still teaching works..it is still trying to earn your salvation.

By the way. There is no way possible my sin could choke my faith out. If I sin, Then the HS convicts me of that sin in chastening.. if nothing else. That makes my faith stronger. Because only if I lack chastening would my faith weaken, because if I am not chastened, am I really saved (the word say I am most likely illegitament and not a true child)

I was a prodigal son for 5 years. During that 5 years. I commited many worldly sins. Yet throughout that whole time. My faith did not die. It was tested.. But it was Gods chastening which brought me back. WHich strengthened my faith not the other way around.

As scripture ays, it is the knowledge I hve eternal life which keeps me in faith. I would only lose faith or choke it out if I stopped trusting God to keep me secure in him and keep his promise. If I lost faith that my eternity was secure, then and ONLY THEN could I lose faith. And if this is the case, Did you ever have faith to begin with? I would say no. (My view)

Says who?

You said sin choked my faith, now your saying I reject it, 2 different things

So you think I am going to turn in a gift I was given because I no longer trust God? Where does this thought come from?

And even if I would (WHoever has true faith woudl never do this, because God never fails them) that does not mean God would be required to take it back. Do you take the gift of your child being your child away from them because they decide they no longer want to be your child. And even if you wantd to. COULD YOU?

I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hi dokimos, so Eternal Salvation can be forfeited, "how so", please give verses to prove Christians can forfeit their "Eternal Salvation." The majority of scripture points to and supports an "Eternal Salvation." There is a doctrine of the Church called, "Assurance of the Believer."

The power and assurance of our everlasting salvation is in the God we worship not by any merit or effort on our part even King David realized his assurance of salvation when he said, "I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm23. You can doubt your eternal security but that does not negate the promises of God.

May I ask you please are you Catholic or do you come from a Catholic background because your theology sounds like Catholic doctrine.

Romans8:39
nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans8:29,30
29)
"For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. 30) And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.

Ephesians1:3-6: 3) "Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ. 4) For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished in his sight in love. 5) He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will— 6) to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son.

Who are "you people"?
I thought we were all brothers and sisters here, with maybe differing doctrine.

Where are you people "coming in here"?
Here, where? This is a public forum -- all are welcome till they break a rule.

What makes you think WE have no idea? Maybe WE have the idea and YOU don't...
Did you ever consider that? Maybe YOU don't have an open mind?

And maybe YOU don't really know what people believe. Maybe you could sit still for a moment and listen to ME sometime.

So what do YOU think OSAS means?

Sorry, But I do not agree.. There is ony one gospel. Not multiple gospels. And since many of us place our faith in different gospels. We all CAN NOT BE BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

I am not the one who continually says OSAS states something it does not. As so many people in here (yourself included) have been doing over and over and over. Why do you think I am so sick of it> Because it happens FAR TO OFTEN

So what do YOU think OSAS means?
Ever heard of Eternal Life? Ever heard of the fact we HAVE IT (not may get it)

Ever heard the terms jesus said that they will never hunger, never thirst, live forever, never die. Will never be lost, Be assured they WILL be risen on the last day and have eternal life (john 3,4 and 6)

Ever heard the saying we HAVE BEEN justified.

Ever heard the saying we HAVE BEEN sanctified and WASHED

Ever heard the words we have been given the spirit as a pledge until when? The day of redemption (no other requirments are mentioned because there are no other requirements we can fulfill)

Ever heard the word he will NEVER let us go no matter what? (No matter what means that No matter what even you trying to let go of his hand)

Ever heard the saying that God gives the right to certain people to become his chikdren? Who are those people (Those who RECIEVE HIM)

Ever heard the term faith (we are saved by grace through faith) And what it means?

Who are those who have faith? Are they people who do not trust Christ to completely save them and keep his promises to them? NO!!

OSAS or eternal security or eternal life or whatever you ant to call it is not an excuse to sin, It is an admition we are sinners and CONTINUE to need help overcoming sin and our flesh. If people use it to excuse their sin, does this mean they are saved? They are no more saved than a legalist who claims one must earn or maintain salvation or it can be lost. Their faith is in SELF. Not GOD.

I just started to show you what God said and where my faith comes from. If salvation is not eternal GOD LIED. You want to make God a liar. Feel free. But stop telling people I believe something I do not believe based on your IGNORANCE or REFUSAL to listen to what I believe!

Parable of the sower
By your sins choking your faith out
wrong interpretation wrong application; the seed s the word of God; the different soils are different hearts that the word f God falls on; seed along the path; the seed sown on rocky ground; the seed among the thorns; and then the seed sown on good ground.

All others with the exception of the seed sown on good ground never became true born again believers and so your application about chocking your faith out is a wrong application why because the rocky soil, the weeds they were never true believers.

This forum can understand that your interpretation and application, "sins chocking your faith out" is wrong. And this parable say's nothing about;"By your sins choking your faith out" absolutely nothing.

And you forgot to tell me please are you Catholic?
The Parable of the Sower Explained
(Mark 4:13-20; Luke 8:11-15)
18) Consider, then, the parable of the sower:
19) When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
20) The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and promptly receives it with joy.
21) But since he has no root, he remains for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
22) The seed sown among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
23) But the seed sown on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and produces a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.”
