how holy can you be, if god already lives in you, in the day you first believed jesus to be your saviour.

john said this,
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.1 John 4

Exactly we are holy! We not being made holy, we learn to live out that position, the true reality of who we are in Christ.

The flesh is not being redeemed.

2 Cor. 7:1-Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Have you never read this, or does your tradition trump the Word of God.? Good grief, People!

Paul is telling them to stay away from their former pagan practices.

Paul shows them how their affections, which tie them to the world, restrict them in a way they should not be restricted, and they should live out their holiness out of reverence for God.

Holiness means set apart

Only Jesus is perfect and complete
Perfect and complete in the sense in which they are used in the following texts.

James 1:4- And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Colossians 4:12- Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

2 Timothy 3:17- That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It does not mean sinless or infallability. It means being what God intends you to be

The text also say "let us purify ourselves from EVERYTHING that contaminates body and spirit.

and holiness in practice is something that Christians are commanded to put on.

Ephesians 4:24- And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

and holiness is something that is enjoined to be CONTINUED IN.

1 Timothy 3:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

There is positional holiness (standing before God) and practical holiness (holiness in practice). One is given instantly, at conversion. The other is followed after all the days of our life. Hebrews 12:14- Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Now before someone flies off the handle again, these things are not to gain salvation, they are desirable because WE ARE SAVED and we want to glorify God in our body and spirit, which are His.

Signing out. Good night, now.

and @Budman have clearly stated that it is not necessary to obey God and Budman has said that he could sin all he wants to because all it takes to be saved is to "believe" in Jesus -- whatever that means to him./QUOTE]

How dare you misrepresent me with such hyperbole. You're making it seem that I encourage sinning because Christians cannot lose their salvation. My only point with self-righteous people like you, is you love to condemn others for sin and act like you're above such things. I merely point out that you, and everyone else, sins every day in either thought, word, or deed. Your pride won't allow you to stomach the obvious, so you exaggerate and attack.

Dcon and others have been right all along. You are a straight up liar and love to sow dissension.

I agree with the part that agrees with "My sheep listen to my voice, I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they shall never perish, etc.

If we go around thinking we are His sheep when we ignore His voice and don't follow Him, we are deceived

You see what OSAS actually TEACHES, is that ONCE we are SAVED, that new nature within us, will want to obey HIM, out of LOVE FOR HIM. And we cannot claim credit for that KIND OF LOVE, because GOD Holy Spirit POURED GOD's LOVE directly into our Hearts (Human Spirit), when HE birthed our Human Spirit into eternal Life.

Now compare that to what a typical Armenian wants to believe what WE TEACH, and you will find out that they are Peddling a LIE about OSAS.

Walk trough the valley
I had a BOSS that was a Master Sargent in the Air Force, on Okinawa, that was a fishing fanatic, my work week went like this.

I would come in on Monday and I had to work hard to answer any Messages that came in on the teletype, even if it meant Overtime.

Tuesday morning, I had run around the shop to collect $10.00 money, from everyone that wanted to go on a fishing trip on Wednesday.

Tuesday afternoon, I had to go downtown to rent the biggest boat I could for the Money we collected that Morning.

Wednesday we took the Boat Out all day for the Fishing Trip.

Thursday I had to WORK HARD to get caught up on my TYPING, and if I had to work overtime.

Friday, Morning I had to collect the $10.00, from everyone that wanted to go Fishing on Saturday.

Friday after Noon, I had to go down to the small boat harbor, to RENT the BOAT for the Next Morning.

Saturday we got on the BOAT, to go back out on the Ocean, Fishing all day.

That only lasted about 6 months, and my Boss Retired.

Then I got a Second Lieutenant that had been busted from CAPTAIN, and he was bound and determined to make his CAPTAIN Bars back, no matter how much over time I had to work.
Upon the crystal pavement down at Jesus' pierced feet
joyful I'll cast my golden crown, and His dear name repeat.
Placing our crown at His feet is expressing obedience to the King of Kings: bedience learned on earth, Faithful unto death. Those full of the Holy Spirit have no fear of man. Their fear is in admiration worship, don't wait until your in trouble to learn this lol. Hey I'm still learning.
I went commercial fishing and lost interest in fishing. I asked the Lord if I should get a gun for hunting in case there's a famine, He said: You don't need any inventions.

Exactly, and self pity in the flesh thinks its about saving the flesh, when that's why we were booted from the garden, do you remember, just kidding. So we would not live eternally full of ourselves.

Believe, to do the work of God: to follow Jesus
follow Jesus, to do the will of God remain in the Joy of the Lord in prayer and thankgiving

I I'm not sure whos side your on, I hear you say that if you take the Work out of salvation all you have is talk.
I look forward to the persecution of Christians and for this mess to be all over and the time is near.
I made a reference to Catholic Christians and waldenses who died together because the catholic royalty who had their view of salvation challenged could no longer tell their followers from those who followed Christ; having been evangelized by the waldensians, who believed in salvation by Grace through Faith. These believed they could lose their crown by compromising with the catholic. The catholic royalty hired men to destroy the whole city.
This is one account of the waldenses but have not found the video of the destruction of the whole city of mixed belief. May we all die together in Jesus name, persecuted and learn humility from Jesus rather than persecute those in the Faith.

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;[/QUOTE

actually we are justified by what we do, Noah was justified by building the ark and saving his family and Abraham was justified for offering his son and became the father of Israel through him

That’s true.

I agree.

His sheep that stray away from Him because they stop listening to Him, become lost.

  • What man of you, having a hundred sheep,

  • Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:4-7

These are all His sheep.

One becomes lost.

The lost sheep, is no Refered to as a sinner in need of repentance.

actually we are justified by what we do, Noah was justified by building the ark and saving his family and Abraham was justified for offering his son and became the father of Israel through him
Yet justified in what sense? Noah had already "found grace" (Genesis 6:8), was "a preacher of righteousness" (2 Peter 2:5), and "walked with God" BEFORE he built the ark. His obedience was a DEMONSTRATION of his faith, not the origin of it and building the ark saved Noah and his family (physically) from drowning.

In James 2:21, notice closely that James does not say that Abraham's work of offering up Isaac resulted in God's accounting Abraham as righteous. The accounting of Abraham's faith as righteousness was made in Genesis 15:6, many years before his work of offering up Isaac recorded in Genesis 22. The work of Abraham did not have some kind of intrinsic merit to account him as righteous, but it showed or manifested the genuineness of his faith. This is the "sense" in which Abraham was "justified by works." He was shown to be righteous.

James is discussing the evidence of faith (says-claims to have faith but has no works/I will show you my faith by my works - James 2:14-18), not the initial act of being accounted as righteous with God (Romans 4:2-3).

Interesting, in light of the fact that Paul speaks frequently of being "persuaded" having "faith"

Absolutely.

If a person has Faith it means God spoke to them, and they obeyed.

That’s why Paul calls it the obedience of faith.

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Romans 16:26

  • the obedience of faith:

Faith is dead without obedience.

If a person has Faith it means God spoke to them, and they obeyed.
If a person has faith it means they believe in/trust in/have reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation. Obedience which follows is works and we are saved through faith, not works. (Ephesians 2:8,9)

That’s why Paul calls it the obedience of faith.

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Romans 16:26 the obedience of faith:
The obedience of faith does not mean faith is defined as obedience or that we are saved through faith + obedience/works. In regards to Romans 1:5 and 16:26, although Paul can speak of people’s initial response of choosing to believe the gospel as an act of obedience, in which he describes it as "obeying the gospel" (Romans 10:16; 1:16), the purpose of Paul’s apostleship was not merely to bring people to conversion but also to bring about transformed lives that were obedient to God.

Notice that Paul said they HAVE (already) received grace and apostleship FOR/UNTO obedience to the faith. Just as in Ephesians 2:10, Paul said that we are created in Christ Jesus FOR/UNTO good works. We are clearly saved FOR good works, NOT BY good works (Ephesians 2:8-10). Paul did not say that they did not receive grace and apostleship until they produced obedience afterwards. We have access by faith into grace.. Romans 5:2 not faith "and obedience/works." We are saved through faith in Christ first, then "unto" obedience/works.

Faith is dead without obedience.
Faith that merely claims to be genuine, yet produces no obedience/works at all demonstrates that it's dead. (James 2:14) But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved through faith. (Ephesians 2:5-9) A dead faith does not produce obedience/works in order to become a living faith, but faith produces obedience/works BECAUSE it's a living faith; just as a dead tree does not produce fruit in order to become a living tree, but BECAUSE it's a living tree. You have it backwards.

No, actually we are justified by faith....

Therefore, we conclude, that a man is justified by faith without the deeds/works of the law <----Paul who was inspired.....you not so much!
