Thanks all for your replies.
One thing i think i should mention is when i say i;m in love with Jesus, I'm in no way lusting over Him. He's my Lord and King and i reverence Him as He deserves our whole hearted worship. Maybe the way "in love" is used in the world is more of a carnal way of thinking, as believers i don't think we should think this way when talking about love. Our love for God (and others) should be from a pure heart with honest intentions.
I've had this song in my head the last couple of days...
These words from the song explain how i'm feeling.
My heart beating, my soul breathing
I found my life when I laid it down
Upward falling, spirit soaring
I touch the sky when my knees hit the ground
Find me here at Your feet again
Everything I am, reaching out, I surrender
Come sweep me up in Your love again
And my soul will dance
On the wings of forever
I know being in love is more than a feeling, our relationship with Jesus should be intimate but this intimacy to me means having Him first in our heart, laying down our life, it involves sacrifice of self desires that don't line up with His will for our lives, which is where i use to stumble but like i mentioned in the OP, lately i just want to spend more time with Him, when i go walking, I stand on the bridge, close my eyes and my mind is carried away with thoughts of Jesus. I can feel my heart changing and this is what i mean when i say i'm in love with Jesus. It's so much more than a feeling, it's the transforming and renewing i know is happening.
Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under [her] wings, and ye would not!
It can be difficult to explain things online but i know you understand where i'm coming from
Amen to this scripture. Sometimes people can be like this, Jesus calls them near but for whatever reason they choose to hold onto things and refuse to draw near to Him, even though if they'd just let go what He has so far greater...i know because this was me lol
I love him too . My messy house proves that i have become less of a martha and more of a mary lol.
I actually enjoy cleaning, i know i'm weird lol. Sometimes i listen to the audio bible as i clean but mostly i have worship music playing, use to be faster praise music but lately worship music is my go to.
so when the way gets rough, remember where you fell " In Love with our Saviour!
Thank you for that reminder, i certainly will
My take might be better suited for the "Unpopular Opinions" thread, but I'm going for it.......
Personally, I don't think we should say that we're "in love with Jesus". That implies romantic love. However, He loves us with "agape" love, which is the most complete, self-sacrificial love there is.
And it's kinda connected to the fact that many women refer to Christ as their "husband". That's not Scriptural, as far as I know.
All goods, i asked for opinions so thank you for your input
I don't refer to Jesus as my personal husband but i do believe that His love is the greatest and more than enough for me
Thank all again for the replies. God bless you!
Mark 12:30
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
