It began in the 40’s. Before that, we read of bible prophecy, but there was no sign of it, and then, following Hitler, we began to see the prophecy of the Jews returning to Jerusalem coming true.
It had been about 2,000 years between us and Christ living as a man and opening up the mystery of God’s salvation. During these years hundreds of scholars added their interpretations of scripture each saying something a little bit different from what the apostles said. We needed to go back, and God provided a way to do that. Writings from the time of Christ, scripture from that time, had been buried in caves and those caves were discovered. If you watch the footnotes of your scripture you will find corrections made based on these original scriptures. See 1 Samuel 10-11 or 1 Samuel 11:1-2 and Psalm 151.
The writings in these scrolls contain some of the earliest texts of scripture yet found. Our ancient history professors have learned much of ancient Hebrew culture through the scrolls. There is even a new denomination of Christians that evolved when there was a better understanding of the culture spoken of in the old testament. This denomination is not without problems, as some people made the old testament dominate rather than the same from the same God. As with anything new, they are attacked unmercifully by the establishment even though it is based on changing nothing from the old.
I feel blessed and excited about living in these new times when the Lord is preparing us for His return.
