You are putting words in my mouth because I do not believe in polytheism I believe in monotheism. According to what you are saying the Trinity is poly. I only believe in Oneness that is Mono. I don't know if you know the definition or polytheism but persons is plural more then one therefore you are contradicting yourself I Believe Jesus is a name. Father Son Holy Ghost Prince of Peace Counselor Almighty Saviour all these and more are titles. When some one asks you what is your name do you say father? Or maybe son? Not cuz we know that you are a son they didn't ask you a obvious question they asked name not title.
Did you say you believe Jesus is the Father? If you do, that's 2 Fathers, and that would be bitheism (ditheism), a form of polytheism. There is no way to avoid the truth. And the truth is there is one God and Father of all (Ephesians 4:6), so, Jesus Christ can't be the Father.
He is One with the Father, but He is NOT the Father. He merely said, "I and the Father are One". Are One God. And Scripture reveals the Father and the Son are One God together with the Holy Spirit.

Yes it's logic but some people like Scotth1960 do not understand this or believe it. He thinks that the Father is one person and the Son is obviously Jesus and that the Holy Spirit is another person idk why he thinks this. I told him I believe in one God only and he said that is polytheism. But it's not it's monotheism. He probably just plays with the word of God but I don't I take it serious.
Logic is not flawed logic. Don't you know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, true and false, darkness and light?

I do believe the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one because they are the same one its logic. If they are one then they are the same one. And again I believe in monotheism not pagan polytheism because God is not three persons if you believe that then you are pagan.

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.For to which of the angels did God ever say,

“You are my Son;
today I have become your Father”?
Or again,
“I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son”?
And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.” <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
In speaking of the angels he says,
“He makes his angels spirits,
and his servants flames of fire.”
But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.”
To which of the angels did God ever say,
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet”? Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

In Jesus name
There is no other God just one. Why did you say gods?

Jesus Christ is God the Son. Jesus Christ is not God the Father or God the Holy Spirit.
God the Father is not Jesus Christ God the Son nor God the Holy Spirit.
God the Holy Spirit is not God the Father or God the Son Jesus Christ.
Believing anything different that this is heresy.
I believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son. The Son of God. The Son of Man. You go beyond the truth, and say Jesus Christ is God the Father. That's false.
That would mean God the Father has a body. And Jesus Christ has a body. That would be a god with 2 bodies. And even 3 bodies, because the Holy Spirit would also have to have a human body. So god would be three men. That's false. Only one man is God (the Son): the man Jesus Christ. One man is God the Son. Not God the Father or God the Holy Spirit.

Could you tell me what this verse says? Please make it clear to me.

"O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears." (1 Chronicles 17:20)

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 1 timothy 4:12 even though he may be wrong looking down on him for his age is wrong on your part.

I learn to be patience, encouraging, merciful, kind, loving, as I see it as what God had to put up with me as his child. Yep, I'm dumber than her though, her innocence isnt polluted, children forgive, move on, make friends without reservations etc they put adults to shame with their simplicity of life. Maybe thats why Jesus said come as a child??

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

This says the father will send us another comforter, the spirit of truth. Right after it Jesus says "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father"

Now do we have two spirits in our heart or does God have two spirits? Is Jesus's Spirit not the spirit of God? You see, Jesus's spirit is the spirit of the Lord God of Heaven. God is a spirit and God came in our place, putting himself in the flesh of a pure spotless man he took our sin upon him and lay down his life for us.

"No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."

"I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour."

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

Even a regular man is a spirit that lives in a body. I am a spirit and I have a body. God is a Spirit and has a body. The Body is his son Jesus Christ sent to be a living sacrifice but is Jesus different in personality from the father? Are his thoughts different thoughts than the Father's? Are his ways different ways? Is he different on the inside from the father?

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."

By Jesus Christ all things consist and all things were made by him and for him . The Creator of the Universe. He is the Image of the Invisible God. The very image of The Holy Father.

"Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"

Hi folks. I'm new here, but have some information and perspective that seems appropriate. First, in Matthew 28, the words in the name of the Father, son, and holy ghost are forgeries. Study of the major texts will show the word actually reads, "in my name," ie Jesus. This agrees with what is said in other places; that it is in His name that all men are saved.
Second, Whenever Jesus made statements such as, "I and my father am one," and, " He who has seen me has seen the father," would have been perfectly understood in the Hebrew culture of that time, as sons always represented the essence of their father and the family name. They would have never thought of it as meaning they are the same person!This also fits with all of the old testament language that has been quoted in this thread regarding there being only One God.Jesus certainly understood that. I wonder why the word lists Mary's geneology if her egg did not contribute to half of Jesus' physical body? God provided the sperm, and so produced his "only begotton son." Jesus was man, just as much as Adam was a man. Otherwise, he could have never legally redeemed us ( Rom 5:12-21).
Lastly, a great way to understand the relationship that now exists between Jesus and God is by the example given us in the word of Joseph and Pharaoh. Joseph earned his position and was given the signet ring so he could perform with all of the power of Pharaoh. Certainly, they were not the same person. So it with Christ, seated at the right hand of the Father, pouring out God's gift, holy spirit, to those who accept Christ as their Lord and become part of his "body."
Respectfully,
Gatto

That is correct we have to come as a child to forgive and become innocent to want to learn of the word of God we can't be rude hold grudges and not want to here what some one has to say just because we don't like the way they are or who they are. To learn about the word of God we don't need to be a certain race or speak a certain language or even be a certain age. So just because I'm 17 this doesn't mean that I can't teach it would be ignorance to think that just because of this we can't learn or teach.

Thank You Gatto and again Joshua175 for reinforcing the Truth that Jesus is the Godhead and not that Jesus is one of the Godhead cuz there is only one God. If he was one of the Godhead then this would be polytheism.

I know the Lord will bless us for defending His truth

no it would not be polytheism.

here read this:
1. Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith;

2. Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.

3. And the catholic faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity;

4. Neither confounding the persons nor dividing the substance.

5. For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Spirit.

6. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is all one, the glory equal, the majesty coeternal.

7. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit.

8. The Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated.

9. The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Spirit incomprehensible.

10. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Spirit eternal.

11. And yet they are not three eternals but one eternal.

12. As also there are not three uncreated nor three incomprehensible, but one uncreated and one incomprehensible.

13. So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Spirit almighty.

14. And yet they are not three almighties, but one almighty.

15. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God;

16. And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.

17. So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Spirit Lord;

18. And yet they are not three Lords but one Lord.

19. For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord;

20. So are we forbidden by the catholic religion to say; There are three Gods or three Lords.

21. The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten.

22. The Son is of the Father alone; not made nor created, but begotten.

23. The Holy Spirit is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.

24. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Spirit, not three Holy Spirits.

25. And in this Trinity none is afore or after another; none is greater or less than another.

26. But the whole three persons are coeternal, and coequal.

27. So that in all things, as aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.

28. He therefore that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity.

29. Furthermore it is necessary to everlasting salvation that he also believe rightly the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

30. For the right faith is that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and man.

31. God of the substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and man of substance of His mother, born in the world.

32. Perfect God and perfect man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting.

33. Equal to the Father as touching His Godhead, and inferior to the Father as touching His manhood.

34. Who, although He is God and man, yet He is not two, but one Christ.

35. One, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking of that manhood into God.

36. One altogether, not by confusion of substance, but by unity of person.

37. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and man is one Christ;

38. Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again the third day from the dead;

39. He ascended into heaven, He sits on the right hand of the Father, God, Almighty;

40. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

41. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies;

42. and shall give account of their own works.

43. And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting and they that have done evil into everlasting fire.

44. This is the catholic faith, which except a man believe faithfully he cannot be saved.
