Modern Prophets are imposters. You can tell because they are always speaking down about the
Word of God. Jesus said His words are spirit. And all Christians have an anointing 1John 2:27 to
understand the scriptures. Yet they try to say there is a special voice, and that voice exceeds
scripture. And scripture alone with Gods spirit in us isnt enough. Well either they are wrong or Jesus
is wrong. These false prophets even say your dead and to be pitied to have just the Word that
God magnified above all His name. Heaven and earth and false prophets will pass away but Gods word
wont. Modern prophets are here to deceive and to draw people away from the Word of God.
They are full of seducing spirits and live to teach others to receive the same.

Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said it is writtenman shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. v 7 it is written v10 it is written
26 more times in the gospels Jesus says it is written. And over 70 times in the epistles.

the psalm 138:2b ...for though has magnified thy word above all thy name.

Psalm 119 has 176 verses magnifying Gods word.

2peter1:3-4 states the word gives us all we need in life and that through it we wll be partakers
of His divine nature.

1Peter 1:22 says we are born again by the word of God

Jesus said we are sanctified by truth, His word is truth.

1CO 4:6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that in us you might learn not to exceed what is written, in order that no one of you might become arrogant in behalf of one against the other

1TH 2:13 And for this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received from us the word of God's message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe. 2TH 2:13 But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

2TI 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth

2TI 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.

MAR 7:9 He was also saying to them, "You nicely set aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition. MAR 7:13 thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that. "

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. COL 2:8

ROM 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? "And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness."

ROM 10:11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed."

GAL 4:30 But what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, For the son of the bondwoman shall not be an heir with the son of the free woman."

MAT 22:29 But Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures, or the power of God.

LUK 24:27 And beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

JOH 5:39 "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that bear witness of Me;

ACT 17:2 And according to Paul's custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

JOH 20:30 Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

ROM 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "But the righteous man shall live by faith."

1JO 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.

If you can find one quote that says something bad about the Scripture it will be a miracle. I haven't heard anyone tell people not to read the Word or to trust in it.

I'm pretty sure that at least 99.99999% of all the people who currently call themselves prophets and apostles are fake, especially if they're doing so on the TV or the net. But on the other hand, I can't completely discount the idea that somewhere on this planet, the Lord annointed someone to those offices, and they're probably in the last place you'd expect, perhaps serving the poorest hovel in a third-world country, or something like that.

I also can't discount the idea that at some point, the Lord might raise up a prophet in the spirit of Jeremiah who will say "Turn back from your sins and you may yet turn away from judgement," Hmm ... maybe more in the spirit of Jonah: "Forty days and Ninevah ... I mean, the US ... is destroyed." Maybe this is wishful thinking, but we NEED that kind of prophet right now, especially when we live in a world where the economy is going down the tubes, there's rioting in England ... it really seems like the Earth is being assaulted spiritually.

Abiding God SPEAKS to His people. Always did Always will. God speaks in Visions, in dreams, in WRITTEN WORDS, in AUDIBLE words, in ACTS, and in sighns and wonders. In prophecies, In toungues, and through angels, Pastors teachers and the mouths OF ALL HOLY MEN!

It was prophecied, it was written down and it is typed now ...By my fingers as a PERSONAL MESSAGE from God to YOU!!! Look what God SAID... Prophecied and now Copied and pasted in this verse...
And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: 21And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Look even Peter heard this voice...Acts 10...

Jesus says ....We the other sheep (us the gentiles) will ...AND THEY SHALL HEAR MY VOICE.

6And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd..

God says in Revelation that only the ones that are LEADS AWAY from the TRUTH, will not hear His Voice...

And here I will acknowledge .... We will hear the WORD OF GOD!!! ALL GOD WILL SAY TO US IS WRITTEN IN HIS WORD AS WELL!!! If you hear something from a man, a spirit an ANGEL or a anything else... CONTRADICTORY TO WHAT THE BIBLE TEACH...IT IS FROM SATAN!!!

God will not change. God will not change His Commands. God will not change HIS WAYS... God will not change HIS SPIRIT...God will not change HIS BLESSINGS...God will not change HIS WORD... GOD WILL NOT CHANGE HIMSELF... the only thing GOD CHANGES... IS ME! God change me from a sinner to HIS GLORY.... To be a perfect MAN...Because this is FIXED AND WRITTEN.... Said and preached...

THIS IS WHAT GOD OFFERS : MATTHEW 5 :48.... 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

This is the shoe I hope God will fit for me... So yes my friend abiding...If God will have me fit the shoes of HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, may they fit PLEASE LORD JESUS! AMEN!!!

I agree even those like eg that ignore, distort, and dismiss scripture, claim that i is the scriptures that they get their beliefs from.

The only one that really refuses to hear or post scripture is Abiding's friend Zone. Maybe that is who he was talking about????????

If there was a Prophet...what purpose would he serve?

Having prophets is not against the Word. I believe you think prophets go against the Bible. No where in the Scripture do true prophets go against the Scripture. God has the Bible and prophets at the same time. They don't compete with each other.

While we're on the topic of "distorting", how are you making out with your "speaking life into" thingy ?

Speaking life, is better than speaking death, thats for sure.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

So far ive only seen prophets quote scripture, anyone can quote scripture
or give some edifying words, anyone can edify, and everyone is told to
then theres the bad ones down to the just plain wackos
So i havnt seen the need for a prophet, cept for the false
one, they have a purpose at least.

Here ya go
Apostles are basically Church planters, not sent to churches to correct their false doctrines.

Prophets are called to correct the church, rebuke leaders for teaching false doctrine. They hear directly from the Lord, and speak what He says.

Pastors are to shepherd the flock, and teach them truth, not correct other pastors of their false doctrine, but teach their flock correctly.

Evangelist is to teach Christ and Christ alone, not correct or rebuke, and they are sent to the world, not the church.

A teacher is to disciple new converts teaching them the way they should go, not rebuke or correct leaders with in the church ect......

One side note: Today's Evangelist walk more in the role of a prophet speaking to the church. (not that all evangelist are prophets, most are not). While the missionary walks in the role of an Evangelist taking the gospel to the lost.

All of us are called to do that. Except hear directly from the Lord. Have any scripture on that?
Because if it isnt in line with scripture we reject it. If it is in line with scripture than we already have it.

so 4runner why are you operating beyond your preset limits of what you think a teacher should be doing?

"A teacher is to disciple new converts teaching them the way they should go, not rebuke or correct leaders with in the church ect.."

are you looking for converts? do you attend church? do you sit under a pastor and his guidance? or do you consider yourself beyond such Biblical doctrine?

please don't cut and paste this to your "me" thread.

I thought we weren't going to add fuel to the fire, Abiding? i guess that might be rude...
