I do what the Lord Jesus shows me to do. The 10 commandments came through Moses. If the Law could save anyone, Jesus died for nothing. The Christian life is a life of obedience and faith. But not faith in the Law or obedience to a few commandments.
Romans 8:14:
"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." It does not say, all who are led by God's law.

The argument that all 613 of the commandments are ceremonial is simply false. Some were for health reasons. According to the Law, if you have a contagious disease, you need to burn your house down. You should not eat pork, many kinds of fish, shellfish and such. Yet Peter was instructed to eat "unclean" foods in violation of God's law. It is up to God what we can and should not do.

I was saved while I was in the military. On the one hand, apparently I should not have reported for duty on Saturdays. Except I'd be letting down colleagues and risking their lives. Not much of a witness, I suspect.

The folly of legalism is that the Christian life is far harder than obedience to the Law. Following a set of rules is simple and requires no faith. Following the leading of the Spirit requires faith and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.
There was a Seventy-day Adventist named Desmond Doss who won the medal of honor in his role as a medic. It is an interesting story.

will you say that in order to know what sin is, you need to understand the law.

i agree that knowing the Law will not set anyone free from the power of sin.
Jesus is the only way.
But how do we confess our sins if we don't know what sin is.
to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

nothing about keeping the Sabbath...

There are quite a few verses about the Sabbath:
[Isa 58:13-14 KJV] 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].

Thats a definition of sin, but its not the only one

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

The Sabbath is one of God's commandments and part of the law of God that did not go away in the NT, it is still a commandment- meaning its a sin to break

Luk2 23:56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

God only gave a name to one day, the seventh day Sabbath, that He claimed as His holy day, the holy day of the Lord thy God Isa 58:18 that was made for man Mark 2:27 because we are made in the image and likeness of God to follow Him.

Jesus kept the Sabbath and if we abide in His love, we would also follow His example John 15:10 1 John 2:5-6

We are told if we break one of the commandments of God we break them all quoting and contrasting directly from the Ten James 2:10-12 why Jesus taught not to break the least of these commandments as one would be in fear of sin and Judgement Mat 5:19-30

God knows what's best for us and only wants to bless Isa 56:2 and sanctify His children Eze 20:12, because we cannot do that ourselves, we need God.

Moral law has never but the way/law to fullfil it has changed. Not by the old way of the letter BUT the New way of the Spirit.

Priesthood under the OC change so also the law in which they administer. This includes the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments is also called "the covenant law" which refers to the OC.
Yes, the New Covenant was established on Better Promises Heb 8:6,it still has "God's law" now written in the heart. The location of the Ten Commandments changed, not the law itself, God promises He would not alter His words Psa 89:34 not a jot or tittle can pass until Jesus comes in the Clouds because no one is above the Authority of God. Its why in the NC the Sabbath is still a commandment Luke 23:56 and why the apostles also kept holy every Sabbath decades after the Cross Acts 15:21 Act 13:42 Acts 13:44 Acts 18:4 a Christian is a follower of Christ- Christ always led by example and He kept the Sabbath Luke 4:16-17 and if we abide in His love we would also keep the commandments and follow in His footsteps 1 Peter 2:21-22 1 John 2:5-6

The Pharisees were admired and respected for their righteous way of life. Yet they hated Lord Jesus. It is possible to be outwardly righteous yet inwardly dead. I'll stick with Jesus, my righteousness, my wisdom, my sanctification and my power. I'll walk in the Spirit and so have the power to overcome the flesh. You keep trying to please God. I died and my life is hidden in Christ with God. I died to the Law, to the world, to self and to sin. I rose with Christ to new life. That suits me just fine.
Was the Pharisees being condemned for keeping the commandments of God, or not keeping them? Jesus condemned them for not keeping and replacing them with their own laws, which is what we do, when we rely on our own version of right and wrong doing and not God's Psa 119:172, and His is everlasting Psa 119:142 our version is as fifthly rags. Isa 64:6

Mat 15:1 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, 2 “Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”

3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; (quoting from the Ten Commandments Exo 20:12) and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— 6 then he need not honor his father [a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”

12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”

13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

Following their example Jesus says leads to a ditch- why He taught not to break or teach others to break the least of these commandments as our righteousness must exceed the Pharisees Mat 5:19-20

The path we are on right now is based on our choices. Whoever we obey is who we serve. Sin unto death, obedience to God unto righteousness. We can listen to the noise out these telling us we can break one God's commandments, but Adam and Eve listen to the wrong voice and it didn't work out so well.

Obeying God the way He said through faith and love reconciles

Isa 56:4 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,

Rev 22: 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

I believe the keeping of the Sabbath is a sign of our loyalty to God. God tests His children, just like He tested Adam and Eve in the Garden. God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the whole world and told them they could eat of every tree in the garden except one. Them choosing to listen to the "other spirit" telling them, if they eat from the tree they would not surely die, the opposite of what God said and that decision is why we have all of the curses we see today.

The Sabbath started at Creation, man was made on the 6th day in the image of God, the Sabbath was made for man and the word Jesus used here means mankind or human beings Mark 2:27 We were made in the image and likeness of God- God kept the Sabbath Exo 20:11 so did Jesus Luke 4:16. The Sabbath was part of God's perfect plan before sin entered and God does not change.

I believe we are entering into end times, and the Sabbath is going to be a huge part of it. There are many people in the news media claiming we need a National Day of Rest and Sunday is the Sabbath.

This is contrary to what God said so plainly. He wrote His commandments with His own finger and spoke them with His own voice and no one has the authority to change anything from God.

Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God

We were warned that this would happen. That God's times and laws would be changed, not by God

Dan 7:25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
And shall intend to change times and law.

The only law that is both a time and law is the Sabbath.
Law- Sabbath Commanemnt
Time- seventh day
And it was changed just as predicted not by God

Who made this change to God's law?

The Catholic church takes credit for this change saying if one keeps Sunday instead of the Sabbath one is obeying a commandment of the Catholic church and are obeying the authority of the catholic church over the authority of God.

It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.
—Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, NJ ‘News’ on March 18, 1903.

They claim this change is a mark of their authority

Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.
—C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.

In the end we will either have the seal of God or the mark of the beast. Only the beast (which means a government power) the forth beast is a government mixed with clay, so its also a religious power and only the beast can tell us what the mark is. They did. It was changing God's commandment from Sabbath to Sunday based on their authority over God's authority that almost all denominations followed suit.

The mark of the beast is about worship. Jesus said false worship is keeping our rules over the commandments of God quoting from the Ten Commandments Mat 15:3-14 Mark 7:7-13

The Sabbath is a sign that we are God's people and He is our God

Eze 20:20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’

The Sabbath is the one commandment that brings us back to the God who Created heaven and earth and all that is in them Exo 20:11 and its the same God of Judgement Rev 14:7

We will either have God's seal
Isa 8:16 Bind up the testimony, Seal the law among my disciples.

Or by default the mark given by the beast

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

The antidote is serving God and having faith in what He said- Jesus told us to live by

Rev 14:12 Here is the [g]patience of the saints; here[h] are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Whoever we obey is who we serve- sin unto death, obedience unto righteousness Rom 6:16

God is telling His people to come out of our false teachings before its too late. Rev 18:4 Once Jesus comes all decisions will be sealed Rev 22:11

To avoid bad doctrine:

Whenever you read “law” in the Bible (or any word derived from law, like lawlessness) do not insert “The Law given at Sinai”. There are many different meanings of “law”. For example “God’s law” means ALL characteristics that define His nature whereas the “law at Sinai” was a shadow of that totality. The law that God writes on our hearts, in Christ, is the totality of His nature. By this, we are given a “new heart”.

Whenever you read “commandment” in the New Testament do not insert “commandments given at Sinai”. For only a period of time did the commandments given at Sinai rule over the Jewish people. Jesus obeyed the commandments flawlessly because He was alive when those commandments were in place.

The written law, which included the 10 commandments, were the only means by which the Jews could receive anything from God. They did not have the Spirit (which is only given in Christ) so God was limited, by His mercy, to give the people direction. Now, however, since we have the Spirit of God in us, God attends the seconds of our every day. You will see these changes as the New Testament advanced: Jesus changed commandments, Paul gave additional commands as did many of the writers of the NT.

Ironically, no real believer would think the NT commands are optional: we know that the NT is God-breathed and should be treated as direction from God. These are not to be treated as an additional law, but on-going direction from God that is both congregational and personal. From the examples in the NT we are to learn how to take present direction from those who watch over our souls, like Jesus watched over the souls of the 12 and gave them direction. Remember, God writes His law (His nature) on the hearts of those in Christ. We know, by His Spirit to our spirits, what to do moment by moment.

This life, hearing and obeying God moment to moment, is the sabbath rest Christ secured for us by His death and resurrection. By this, He restores us to a time when The Father covented with The Son to bring about the Seed (Christ) who could carry the exact representation of God in Himself. This agreement, in time and space, was seen in the earth 430 years before the law was given at Sinai. The Sinai law never made the Jews children of God. Even today they do not know Him as Father. That law made them slaves. The original agreement between The Father and The Son was one that would make the people into children of God. Christ returns us to this agreement. Once we come to Christ by faith we cannot return to the law written in stone. This is the summation of Paul‘s warning to the Galatian believers.

If people could not be bewitched into going back to the Sinai law there would be no need to warn the believers against it. Some in this thread have been bewitched, and so seek justification by God through the Sinai law that brings death. By their own actions they hold God accountable to themselves saying “because I have done what you say you must justify me!” This is why they are quick to condemn others who do not believe as they do: they are like the Jews that condemned the disciples and Jesus. Don’t worry about their words, they are as hollow as those of the Pharisees.

God said Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy Exo 20:8-11- Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath Mat 2:28 as the Sabbath is the holy day of the Lord thy God Isa 58:13 man is made in the image of God to be a follower of Christ. That we depend on His sanctification Eze 20:12 and blessing Isa 56:2 and righteousness Isa 56:1 Psa 119:172 Psa 119:142

Man says- get rid of the Sabbath. We can sanctify ourselves.

The same choices that were in the garden. Listen to God, or listen to someone else. Nothings changed.

There was a Seventy-day Adventist named Desmond Doss who won the medal of honor in his role as a medic. It is an interesting story.
Seventh Day, not seventy ;)

There was a movie about the events that occurred named Hamburger Hill.
Hacksaw Ridge. Yes, it was a very well done movie: a 2016 epic biographical war film directed by Mel Gibson and written by Andrew Knight and Robert Schenkkan, based on the 2004 documentary The Conscientious Objector directed by Terry Benedict. World War II American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss (portrayed by Andrew Garfield), serving during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot. Rated "R" and gets 8.1 on imdb.

From wiki: Hacksaw Ridge garnered awards and nominations in numerous categories, with particular recognition for Gibson's direction and Garfield's performance, as well as its editing and sound effects. It received six nominations at the 89th Academy Awards, winning Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing. At the 70th British Academy Film Awards, the film received five nominations, winning Best Editing. Hacksaw Ridge was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama (Garfield) and Best Director (Gibson) at the 74th Golden Globe Awards. It also received five nominations at the 22nd Critics' Choice Awards, winning Best Action Movie and Best Actor in an Action Movie (Garfield). The film garnered nine nominations at the 21st Satellite Awards, winning Best Actor (Garfield), Best Film Editing and Best Sound. Hacksaw Ridge was named one of the Top 10 Films of 2016 by the American Film Institute, and National Board of Review.

Right the law of Moses isn’t from the beginning it was added four hundred thirty years after the promise to Abraham made before the law of Moses

@They did not have the Spirit (which is only given in Christ) so God was limited, by His mercy, to give the people direction.”

Who created man and put his spirit in him ?

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“All the while my breath is in me, And the spirit of God is in my nostrils;”
‭‭Job‬ ‭27:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Where did the living soul come from ? From the dust or from inside God ? What is it that gave man life ?

“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man,

for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christ is who created them he’s always been there he made us and breathed his spirit into man to make man a living soul

“And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:”
‭‭John‬ ‭20:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:11‬ ‭

“Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭42:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If man didn’t have the spirit we would still be dead bodies made of dust and never would have been made in Gods image and likeness

“But there is a spirit in man: And the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭32:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Your right brother “ the law “ is applicable to whatever the covenant word is at that time .

But man was made originally in Gods image and the living spirit in us that he have man in the beginning is what he’s trying to save and reconcile tonite prior standing and place and condition

The Holy Ghost is the presence of Jesus with us leading and guiding and teaching us . He was there with them also in the beginning breathing on them also

when the law came it was because the darkness had covered the earth and
Men had become corrupted and fallen from tbier rightful place of inheritance based on creation to be the children and chosen of God upon the earth

Because the lord who makes holy is more holy than that which he makes holy. The sabbaths are holy, but we are one body with him and dwell in the holy of holies, ie, most holy place, in him.

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. Matthew 12:3-8
You're forgetting the Holy Spirit 8ndwells us.

I am not sure what you mean. The Sabbatarians go on and on ad nauseum about keeping the Sabbath
as if it is something everyone should be doing when nobody can do it. They are perpetrating a deception.

God's Sabbath rest from His works pointed forward to the rest we would find from works, in Christ.

Also, Sabbath keeping is nowhere commanded in the NT.
As you wish.

Do you believe the sabbath sanctifies you?
I beleive this

Eze 20:12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them.

Only God can sanctify us, the Sabbath is a sign between us and God, so we know that He is the Lord who sanctifies.

Only God can sanctify a day, only God can sanctify us. We need God for everything.

He is talking to the Jews and the believers, telling them not to let anyone, non-believers judge them in these things. To hold fast to their beliefs and in keeping the Sabbath holy.
“One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, And every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:5-6, 9-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

some of the new christians were former Jewish believers in God Paul is saying that if you are already convinced that you must keep one day a week holy then you need to for your own conscience

But if another Christian doesn’t keep a single day a week holy it’s not your place to judge then who don’t honor the sabbath . He’s saying instead of arguing over every detail that differs between jew and gentile chrortoans because the Jews knew and were born inder the law and gentiles didn’t there were alot of beliefs that conflicted . It’s a way to keep the peace

we should walk by faith that we receive from the gospel. If a chrirtian is convicted and believes trey neee to keep the traditions of the law then they do actually need to because it will violate thoer own conscience and make them guilty bekieving they have sinned not honoring a sabbath day properly

the other guy who just heard Jesus and the gospel he’s gonna wonder why we gotta keep a day per week holy because he’s not indoctrinated by Moses law which was Jewish doctrine from thier law

it’s a persons faith that matters . What have they heard and what sunk in we have to each walk by that standard

One man esteemeth one day above another:( the sabbath is different must be honored )

another esteemeth every day alike.( every day of the week belongs to the lord )

Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord;

and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. “

aid we could get to the point we realized we have bo position to judge another believer in Christ for a sabbath command or clean and unclean food laws when we reach the point where Christ and the gospel is our common ground and bond we will flourish within the church leaving the judgements up to the judge Jesus Christ

Romans 14 does not use the word "Sabbath" once. Its referring to opinions of man, what man esteems, not what God esteemed that is a commandment of God. The apostles were not lightly discussing whether they should or should not obey one of God's commandments, it was in reference to their own opinions. Much like today if we were discussing should we keep Christmas or Easter- not disobeying God and sinning. Paul's writings can be tricky and there is a reason the inspired Word of God said his writings came with a warning 2 Peter 3:16. They are not to be used to countermand God.
