I have thought a lot about this over the years...

The kinds of people who seem so bored/unsatisfied with their own lives (or can't stand the idea of peace,) that they are constantly picking fights with other people because they find the drama so much more exciting than their own situation. Or maybe they grew up in that environment and what they feel most familiar with.

So they're always starting something with someone, whether their own spouse, family, or other people around them.

I know it's always existed but I wonder if it's one of those social things that people observed, but didn't know what to call it or how to label it at the time -- because it seems absolutely rampant now.

I mean, I get bored with life and like to stir up drama too -- hence this thread -- but my favorite way is to try to make people laugh.

Sorry, @Churchgoer -- I'm just rambling out loud.

I know my thoughts here don't have much to do with your post -- it's just that the tennis match reminded me of people who ALWAYS have to have some kind of back-and-forth drama going -- even if they have to start it themselves.

We need to look for excitement within God's boundaries, and there are plenty of them.

For all the fruits in garden, we can eat. Only one tree God tells us to stay away. That's the key.

I also like that mentioned in another post, @Churchgoer, that you are all in favor if going out and seeing new things with other Christian friends, etc.

I think most people don't get enough of that in real life (which is why we sometimes get bored and want to stir up drama... cough, cough... Just talking about myself here.)

You've inspired me to keep going with The CC Friendship Group (Goes On An Adventure.)

I just thought of another idea and am working on the thread now.

Most of us can't actually meet up due to money and distance, but we can still all "get together" virtually!!

(This was something I tried to do when I used to write inmates -- trying to create a feeling of going out and exploring the world through words and pictures, even if it wasn't physically possible.)

I'm grateful for others who might be interested in doing that here in the threads -- it gives me the opportunity to keep trying to improve!

When I was a newbie Christian online years ago, I would look up Christian websites like Got Questions

It was very helpful to me, a novice at reading the Bible

I also remember liking a website called "Mystery Worshipper' and it was like mystery shopping except the mystery worshipper checked out all these different churches and wrote an anonymous review on them on the website, rating them how they treated visitors, what the service was like, if they got a cup of tea, whether the pews were hard or soft, how many in the congregation etc.

I wonder if it's still going?

A bit about the history of ballet, music, fashion trend and literature, mostly about european history, church and marriage, that's how I know the relatively short history of modern dating, and the origin of various theologies.

I actually have quite a lot to say about this, because I was a stay-at-home mother for several decades and I genuinely loved it.
I am naturally a homebody. I love being at home, taking care of the house and children, baking, cleaning, doing laundry and making things with my hands. Honestly, I could probably stay home for a year without going anywhere as long as someone else did the grocery shopping.
So I completely understand why some women are drawn to the trad wife idea. Being a homemaker and a wife suited me very well. What would have made it much easier, though, would have been having a loving husband who actually wanted to provide for and take care of his family.

That wasn't my reality. Even though I was a stay-at-home mother, I still supported myself and my children. In Finland, families with children receive some support from society and I also found all sorts of little ways to earn money. I baked to order, made crafts and sold them and in the summers I practically lived in the woods picking berries and selling them. So I was a homemaker, but I was also my own little businesswoman.
My life wasn't easy, but I truly enjoyed being home with my children. Sometimes I still wonder how on earth I managed to find the time to do everything and raise the children too.

Now I am working, supporting my youngests and helping my adult children who are studying. I actually enjoy my job, but it's exhausting. I drive about 200 km a day and these days it feels like work takes up almost all my time.
I can give my children much more materially now, but I have so much less time. And if I am completely honest, I would rather be a homemaker than spend my life working.
So I don't see anything wrong with a woman choosing a traditional role. I think it can be a beautiful way of life when it is freely chosen and when the husband understands that taking care of the home and children is real work too.
And yes, there is some drama from time to time when the children have a father who doesn't want to invest much time or money in them. But, well... I chose to have my children, I didn't choose their father. Let's just say... Dad's judgment wasn't exactly his finest moment.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. You sound like the literal definition of a proverbs 31 woman, minus the respect and appreciation she received from her husband . I'm so sorry you were treated that way, you deserved so much better!

My mother was a homemaker and I completely agree that it can be a great way of life when both husband and wife are fully on board and contributing as they should. I really don't know how young families do it with both parents working full time. I'm sure your kids benefitted tremendously by having you there in the home

I'm really curious about your last paragraph, please don't share unless you want to, but do I understand correctly that your marriage was arranged by your father and you did not have a choice in the matter?

In my neck of the woods, we raise rabbits and cook 'em in the cast iron skillet like fried chicken. Use the pan drippings to make gravy, serve it over mashed potatoes and with a side of veggies from the garden.
If that's not your thing, I'll have a chilled rabbit-free meringue waitin' for ya'

I've cooked up arctic hares in stews. I reckon they're cousins to rabbits and look like rabbits, so probably taste about the same. The meat was very gamey and when you shot them they would loudly scream until all the life was out of them.

A new person turns up on CC not knowing anybody and meets Seoulsearch and her welcoming wagon guy Lynx. Seoulsearch offers to show the newbie around on CC and they start making friends etc.

They meet @tourist, @Godsgirl1983, @Pipp and many others who invite them to partake on various fun game threads. But it seems there are more people on CC than they realise, and as newbie starts to explore they come across some other trails and trains that lead elsewhere. @seoulsearch is having so much fun organising various meetups and parties she forgets to look out for the newbie who has gone off on another trail.

Wait! Warns @Lynx . Don't go to the BDF! It's not safe there are hungry wolves lurking!. But newbie is too far away and seems to ignore this warning. They already on the train ride to BDF and have stepped off the platform....

Surely there is a video game that is one where you can hunt rabbits without doing it in real life. From the comfort of your computer console and swivley chair?
