I'll be honest. I used to be pretty but I let myself go! I figured that I didn't have to try to presentable since I'm not looking to get married.
But I made the suggestion for others to try to make themselves presentable to create a "foot in the door" so to speak. I'm sure people here are wonderful, but they have to give other people the incentive to want to come to know that.
Besides, making yourself presentable is fun. Going shopping to put together the right outfit, finding a haircut and hairstyle to vastly improves your a appearance, putting on makeup in a hundred million ways that changes your look - all that takes creative and fun energy. I might want to go back to doing all that again just for that!

Maintenance is definitely becoming more difficult, lol. Several years ago I cut back to eating twice a day, now I'm trying to cut back to just a light snack and one meal. Getting older and things like a slowing metabolism are no joke.
And you're definitely right -- sometimes it just doesn't seem worth it. I'm always like, "Well, it's not like I'm meeting anyone anyway..."
Nowadays my motivation is more about health. I'll see people arguing over who gets the mobility scooter in stores and I know that could be me if I don't watch it.
I really hope you can get back into the fun of taking care of yourself, even if it's just a little bit at a time!! I'm not sure if you have Ulta (beauty store) there, but they have some less expensive brands than Sephora or just department stores. You might want to book an appointment with someone about how to do makeup, etc.
And YouTube is loaded with older content creators in all age ranges with visual ideas for hair, makeup, and outfits.
I'm a firm believer that everyone has a feature they can play up, at any age.

Yeah, I have an Ulta store at the next town over. If my membership has expired, I should sign up again to accrue ulta points. I can wear any makeup but I do notice a lot of the higher end makeup does apply nicer and lasts longer. The color are also more appealing too.
In regard to food maybe start up a thread about food, diets and dining?
And maybe a clothes and fashion thread? Christians have to learn how to not get to carried away with all these things and find a good balance.
