Started an 8 week program this week. It was a lot harder than it looked on paper... But it is exposing all my weaknesses. Which are pretty much all upper-body related. And/or volume related.

High volume is great for building the base. But as I get older the harder it is to recover. But that's the point of exercise. Getting better at something that is hard to do and making it not so hard to do.

The other day we had some people over and we were playing running games just like ol' times. We played 5 different active games, most of which included LOTS of running. Plus, I'd taken a long bike ride earlier that day. I could hardly get out of bed the next morning lol. I should do these things more often so I'm not so shamefully sore afterwards.

I haven't posted here in a while, because it's just not that exciting lol, but I have been working out 5 days per week. I've also been taking my diet more seriously and trying to eat as clean as possible, hit my macros, etc. I've put on about 10 pounds and would like to put on another 15 before I start to cut. So yeah, that's about it.

I signed up for another powerlifting meet in September. It is a regional meet. In order to enter you have to have been in a meet in the last year in ND,SD,MN,IA or WI

Yesterday was arm day and I can't lift my arms at all.

Today is cardio so I can take a break.

How is everyone's fitness going? ;)

I am in better shape now going into my 63rd year coming up then I was when I was 30 years old. I asked the Lord about the "way I should go" this time last year and since then I have lost about 65 lbs of fat and I can actually see my abs now. I have never saw them before. I knew they were there.....somewhere...lol

The Lord has a plan for all of us and His way is the way to take for each of us.

I plan on getting those Iron fitness dumbbells and start lifting again after a 3 year break if the people that own where I'm staying will allow me to keep them in my locker.

Fitness is great for the mind.

I'm closing in on a 1400lb powerlifting total. Squats are lagging behind a little bit. Hopefully deadlifts with increase to make up for it.

I'm hoping to be at or really close to 1400 at the upcoming meet in september.
