Are you sure about that?

I'd suggest that a lot of the problems in modern "Western" nations are due, in part, to the fact that many Christians do follow corrupt, lying politicians instead of following biblically sound ethics and worldview.
Anyone who follows politicians to Hell is not Christian IMO.

Didn't want to start a new thread on this as I cannot find an answer online, but this question seems fitting under this thread.

Who was cheering USA, USA, USA at the SOTU? Republicans or Democrats?

Who that you know follows a politician?

Is voting for a candidate "following" a politician? A party?
There's a difference between supporting a policy and following a politician or political party.

I find it VERY difficult to believe that anyone who knowingly votes for murderers of MILLIONS of babies, or sends soldiers to their deaths is a Christian.

Seems you're taking a good idea and stretching it far enough render it useless.

Your ignorance can be educated by reading the Bible.
Murder of babies, and wars led by God himself.

Now what?

does the bible support nationalism?
Nationalism is not exactly equivalent to patriotism. What we find in the OT is that suitable males were expected to fight for Israel as needed. Nothing is mentioned in the NT, but what has always been true is that men are supposed to defend their families in the face of those who would harm them.

Please answer my question... what makes a Christian, in your opinion?

Stretching it how? Abortion isn't murder? Sending soldiers to die and kill innocent people isn't murder? How about dropping nukes on thousands of innocent people in Japan? Yes, on Judgment Day it will be judged as murder.

Well I've been reading the Bible over 40 years. What would you like to know about the Bible?

I took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against enemies, both foreign and domestic, so help me God. I’ve always had peace in my heart regarding that oath. If God did not support nationalism, the Holy Spirit would have convicted me and other Christians who have taken that oath. Just my opinion.
I took the same oath back in the day.
