Worship that is pleasing to God

Well scripture wise, there is scripture about offering up a sweet smelling aroma to God. Psalms and Proverbs are also the best scriptural sources for Christian music. As for dress.. scripture about modesty apply. But ya it would be great to write songs we like that are more scriptural.

Worship that is pleasing to God

True, dress is a different sort of thing. I just find ccm music to look too much like every other kind of music in the way they present themselves.

Worship that is pleasing to God

I believe, along with many others, that real worship in song should have: (not in order of importance) 1) Lyrics about honoring God and not people (unless it's honoring what those people did for God) 2) Not about asking God to come down.. He is either already there in the midst of the...

    Question about Experience

Yeah, worship music should firstly be about God and not us. Rather than 'give me' it should be 'thank you' based. Next.. it shouldn't really look like popular wordly music. Eg head banging, loud, can't tell the lyrics, inappropriate dress. Among other things it should also be scripturally...

    Loss of salvation???

This is what I'm getting at

    Loss of salvation???

I'm saying we do believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as a one time event.. then the indwelling of the Holy Spirit keeps us saved ....not us. That is all.

    Loss of salvation???

Yes, we believe on Him...and He responds by indwelling us with the Holy Spirit. His faith then maintains our eternal state, because we can't maintain our eternal state. That just isn't possible for us to do.

    Loss of salvation???

'Working out your own salvation with fear and trembling ' is the right response to being converted..but not how you are converted. Conversion is purely believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Demons believe..but in context..they have never entrusted their salvation with Him. They know of...

    The deity of Jesus Christ

Funny thing that.. many who deny the Trinity will say Jesus is the one person with the Father and Holy Spirit in Him. They think that is not a Trinity..but that is still one triune God! That's still a Trinity! Three in one. The Trinity isn't claiming 3 separate gods or beings. It's one being...

What could these verses below mean?

Loving God more than family....well in theory a church you belong to would be closer than family. Because you share mostly the same beliefs. And you would be all believers ideally. A family could have all sorts of beliefs and no unity in Christ. A family that goes to the same church...

    The deity of Jesus Christ

Okay.. well that is good to know. It must be people who come in who eventually get found out. I do see that those posters I thought were messianic jews denying His deity aren't posting much or anything anymore.

    Loss of salvation???

It is the ongoing commitment from the Holy Spirit to us that keeps us saved. Not our commitment to Him. Because a believer has the HS indwelling them, then they will be prompted to keep believing, so that makes it ongoing. But eternal life...means eternal. Jesus's conversion for someone is...

    Loss of salvation???

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ..eternal salvation given there. Then there is maturing in the faith..which is a lifelong deliverance. 'Saved' again as the whole life commitment to Christ. The ongoing commitment not dependent on the initial gift given by grace.

    Loss of salvation???

The rest in this isn't about eternal salvation. This is a different kind of deliverance to eternal salvation. Entering God's rest is the reward for continual persistence in the faith, not initial acceptance into the Kingdom.

    The deity of Jesus Christ

The thing is, you get people who deny Jesus is fully God on this and other forums. That's why we go back to 101 basics. I wish forums would actually deny membership to posters who attack the deity of Christ, but this isn't the case. That is why I come back to this

    The deity of Jesus Christ

Yes, there is sub-ordination in the Trinity. He would be lower in position again. That doesn't make Jesus no longer being fully God, though. The bible doesn't have Jesus ever being 'not God'

    The deity of Jesus Christ

Not long ago, there were a number of posters on here that were lowering Jesus' deity, below the Father. I think some were Jewish who thought they had accepted Jesus as the Messiah, but actually made Him somehow a lesser God than the Father. Anyway, I wanted to address when Jesus says the...

    Sending The Comforter to us

Yes, this is why I have an issue with seperating the HS, Son and Father out from each-other. I see the seperation as distinctions in the one God... but not different beings.
