Does Romans 6:3-4 teach water baptism?

Yeah, Israel was an assembly/congregation in the wilderness. They are different to the NT church. And I mean church not as in all redeemed but a local church. I believe all redeemed won't be a church till the New Jerusalem is formed.

Does Romans 6:3-4 teach water baptism?

Well, JC and His disciples did all the work of church. They were given the authority to baptise, they had Jesus as the Head, they had the Lord's Supper. They assembled regularly as a church. They studied together scriptures. They had different roles in this first church.. with Judas as a...

Does Romans 6:3-4 teach water baptism?

Well I would argue that the small c church started with JC and His disciples. Nothing heretical about that. Not sure when graceambassador has it starting. Pentecost is a church , small c.. ..empowered .. not started.

Does Romans 6:3-4 teach water baptism?

Romans 6:4 is a verse that can be taken either way on its own. But when compared with like scripture it becomes about baptism by immersion in water. The into Christ.. can mean 'in reference to His death and resurrection ' And.. when a person becomes a member of a church .. they are water...

Don't Put God In A Box

I haven't heard of this open Theism before.. that's interesting. I don't know how that works with fulfilled prophecy through God speaking through His prophets!

    water baptism in Jesus' Name.

I use the KJV. Baptism by immersion is a work. Works cannot save anyone. The bible is crystal clear on this. 'for' the remission of sins.. A person is saved by believing on Jesus Christ. That is it, that is all. Mailmandan has this covered. 'for' is like.. 'ive been saved by Jesus...

    water baptism in Jesus' Name.

Being baptised for the remission of sins ... 'for' doesn't mean .. makes sins clean.. It's 'because of' or 'in reference to' The Greek is 'eis' for 'for' which has the above meaning. But aside from this.. go to the book of John and see how much baptism is mentioned there.

Okay .. yes the variances prove the truthfulness of the accounts.. because if they were the same exactly...it would be copying and suspect. Real accounts from the news come from different perspectives and they report slight differences from what they truthfully saw. For eg.. a reporter sees a...

problem related to praying in tongues

Okay... Look at the scholars who have resolved this over the past 500 years + This is not something that has not been addressed and solved. In fact this is an argument from skeptics and critics.. not Christians. At least not serious Christians. But anyway..I'm leaving thus thread. Good luck

problem related to praying in tongues

This issue has been answered by scholars for a long long time. It's about where the sun is in the sky.. it can still be dark at dawn. I think scholars have looked at how the day and night is described by the people of the day and seen that it's not defined the way we think in our day. Need to...

I'm not a Calvinist fella! I'm neither Calvinist nor Arminian. But aside from that... John baptised in water.. That is the baptism Jesus talks about and is the same kind He commands the disciples to do. What baptism do you call this? If it is a kind of salvation baptism...then it isn't...

Yeah.. I've been in tightly moderated forums and even though I might type something biblically sound, because of their bias.. I can get teamed up on and then threatened. One site I was in was full of calvinism.. and they would team up on people who weren't calvinist and inundate them with...

problem related to praying in tongues

Paul was inspired by God (who is Jesus) who wrote about full immersion baptism in water. Jesus commanded the disciples to baptise. That is obviously baptism in water because that is what John the Baptist was doing. It is also not Holy Spirit baptism.. because it is an action done by the...

problem related to praying in tongues

Gift of salvation isn't in the same category as sign and ministry gifts.. but of course that remains.T Faith of course remains.. because looking at 1 co 13.. faith hope and love supersede all other gifts. And they ARE gifts of the Holy Spirit.. because God supernaturally empowers them for a...

problem related to praying in tongues

Of course believers walk by the power of God. The gifts ceasing doesn't negate any of God's power... In fact it gives God the credit for any miracles.. because God doesn't need to use the sign and ministry gifts thru us any longer. He has put those tools down and now we can live by faith in...

problem related to praying in tongues

Right so we are looking at different parts of the Bible.. me at acts 2.. and yourself at 1corinthians. They do not contradict but are in different settings. Acts 2 definitely is for the purpose of spreading Christianity to other nations. Especially for the Jews. So the question is what...
