Yes this is what I see with what the Pharisees were doing in the NT when addressing blasphemy. I dont see in the bible where its something a believer does
Yeah, like in other threads I've posted in, what many call tongues and prophecy now, is very different to what is in the New Testament exhibited by the Apostles.
Tongues is often gibberish and not a known language. Prophecy is often akin to fortune telling.. all about future prediction in...
Talking of the accusation that some cessationists are saying people speaking in tongues now is demonic...
I agree with the view that it's a euphoric and can even be a relaxing experience, rather than saying its directly demonic.
Most Christians who try to speak in tongues would do so with...
But their is an objective truth that is about something ceasing or not.. whether or not we believe.
Like someone being healed in the New Testament regardless of their level of faith.
But I get that people have a point of view and most are not going to be dissuaded from it.
Remember 1 Corinthians 13 is referring to the GIFT of knowlege.. not general knowledge. The gift was supernatural, exceptional and carried by the apostles.
Well, what are you referring to as 'the church' that believes prophecy ceasing as heresy?
Roman catholic and orthodox denominations were persecuting and killing Christians from independent Christian churches. A whole lot of them were sound in the faith.
This is the trouble with claiming something when you dont know if God has performed the request.
'Name it and claim it'is the common word for it.
Its all up to God whether He follows a request (more like demand in the case of Copeland!)
Not up to us.
Gotta be careful here... works have nil to do with the initial giving of eternal salvation.
Sure there are false believers who had no change of heart and mind, but works aren't part of the initial salvation.
We all know this through the book of Romans plus a myriad of other verses.
Eternal...
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit happens at initial salvation.
When someone saved commits sin, they are convicted, called to come out of it... but never, ever UN-indwelt.
That would make a mockery of Jesus' efficacy in dealing with sin at the cross.
Yeah, the spirit in someone when it is saved eternally, never sins.. because of the Holy Spirit indwelling, but the flesh is weak and still sins.
Sinning less in our mortal body a saved person can do. Sinning not at all.. only God has this power.
Alot of this boils down to who Jesus is
He is fully God
He is THE way, THE truth, THE life... not A way. No one comes to the Father but thru Him.
He was with the Father in the beginning. He is risen.
Eternal life is thru Him.
In Him all things consist.
It isn't the same God being...
Yeah I wouldn't call God the Father Allah. The association with muslims is too close for my liking. Plus the Father is co-equal and co-eternal with God Jesus... so that would be another reason not to
Maybe it's ok to call the Christian God Allah in some countries because it does just mean God.. but you do it the West..like I said and you are talking muslims and Islam
Yeah, these verses pretty much show what Muslims would follow if they really took their writings seriously. I remember Jacinda putting on the head covering and wearing the Muslim traditional dress.. and I thought how would she go if she was in the Middle East?
In NZ.. sure.. it's a nice...
