    Allah and Christ

Some one the other day spoke to me that Allah is just another name for the same God as christianity. I was surprised cos this was coming from a Christian, but it made me think what really separates that two. I looked at a dvd on comparing Allah and Christ and the key thing is the Christian...

    Any Historically orthodox Christians here?

Same experience in a nz methodist church here for me. Wasnt till I went to university and found a Christian club that showed me the reality behind Jesus' life death and resurrection that any kind of creed started to ring true

Does One Receive the Holy Ghost the Moment they Believe in Jesus?

Look at the different roles of the Holy Spirit. At receiving eternal salvation, the HS seals an individual believer unto the day of redemption. The HS also dwells in the midst of an assembly of saved, baptized believers... see Mathew 18. The Holy Spirit also would empower groups of...

Could the QR Code be the mark of the beast ?

Yeah, the QR scan is not an overtly evil thing. It is a way of the govt trying to keep on top of a virus that is very contagious by seeing who people were close to when they get sick. The mark is associated with something being clearly ungodly and evil.

    Not By Works

In the once saved always saved belief, there is a teaching that is along the lines of... yes once saved always saved.. but the saved person WILL be continuously faithful... will do good works. Scripture doesn't really support this though. After being saved.. it isn't an absolutely certainty...

    Misconceptions

Yeah, that passage is about the 2nd coming, but it isn't about the giving of spiritual gifts. It's more about living in righteousness compared to the sin nature, with the look to the future of when we see Jesus as a sure hope to come. There is another passage that talks about seeing Jesus 'face...

    Misconceptions

Yeah..I wasn't meaning that prophets continued.. or apostles :) Just that the Holy Spirit had work much greater than just in the gifts of the Holy Spirit through tongues, knowledge and prophecy.. so the Holy Spirit still moves in believers, even if cessation of gifts is true. Anyhoo.. it's a...

Let's talk about the elephant in the room

Addiction cycle... fall into a sinful behaviour... experience pleasure from it.. then.. feel bad-guilty from doing it rather than convicted by God to change. Feel bad... go back to sinful thing to get pleasure. Often it is a lack of close connection with God and others that leads someone...

I'm not equating the movement of the Holy Spirit purely with the gifts.. is all.

    Misconceptions

Regardless of what I am saying.. if scripture tells us the gifts were for a time and passed .. then that is all that is needed. You'd be right in saying the scripture doesn't explicitly say the perfect thing coming is the completed revelation of God's Word. That's because that would be a...

    Misconceptions

Well, all I'm saying here is there was a point at which God stopped moving in Holy men of God to pen scripture. Proof of this? Revelation is done! So maybe a misunderstanding here. There is nothing in scripture to say God no longer moves in Holy men of God now of course.

    Misconceptions

In regards to 1 Corinthians 13 and calling the perfect as the completed revelation of Gods Word in the canon.. Reasoning purely from this chapter isn't enough for this to hold water, but together with the experience of modern tongues being quite different to what was experienced in the early...

Yea I'm not saying God stopped moving in holy men of God full stop...but did stop at inspiration for the scriptures.

    Misconceptions

Well.... it's still the point at which God's finishes moving in holy men of God to finish the scripture that would be the closing of the canon. Officialdom recognising that happening isn't the point of the supernatural power of God finishing in that process. But this is good information you...

    Misconceptions

Regarding the canon being recognised, the point im trying to make is --it was the process of the bible being completed -- not the recognition by officialdom that is what counts. The recognition by the council is well after AD 96.. but the process of God moving in holy men of God to pen...

    Misconceptions

Again.. it's a about the special spiritual gift of knowlege. Of course people have spiritual knowledge now.. God given thru applying scripture to their lives, empowered by the Holy Spirit. This isn't the same as the supernatural gift. In regards to the bible being the perfect thing... that is...
